This is a pair of Corbels from Asia. Most likely the Philippines or Thailand. They are both a carved Peacock, and the wood is a very green color. they are in good shape, appear to have been hand carved- they are from one piece of wood from what I can see for each one. These are designed to be used in the corner of a window or porch to accent the house. All items can be combined to reduce shipping costs. This weights about 8 lbs. Interesting pieces of carved wood. Almost 8" long, 2 7/8" wide, and 1 1/8" thick. Have holes in the back for pegs to hold this on whatever if came off of. Has no finish that I can tell. May have originally held a shelf on an old pump organ, dresser, or dining room piece, maybe even off an old mantle. Anyway, very nice. Wonderful Antique Carved Art Nouveau Figural Shelf Overall very good condition. There is wear from age but the surface has a good. Old patina. NOT refinished and needs a good cleaning. This is made of a softwood and is not all one block, rather it is 2 pieces that were glued together to make the thickness, but it is very hart to tell-it appears as one solid piece. There are some new scrapes and dings and an old chip. Plus 3 newer holes drilled for mounting. 2 of the holes are in the outer corners and one is at the lower center of the piece. about 10" tall x 19" wide x 5-1/2" deep. Unique Pair of Brackets or Corbels or Finials Carved Wood
This pair of wooden ornamentation doesn't fall into any specific category such as finial. Corbel, pediment, etc. The 2 pieces match somewhat and as seen in the photo there is some variation in the color. There are some chips and scratches. Having said all that, I think they make a marvelous arch shape when positioned back to back. I think some of my more creative repurpose buyers will certainly find a decorative use for such unique items.
