A wonderful pair of matching antique wooden Victorian corbels. Or gingerbread as some call it. These were salvaged from New Bedford, Massachusetts. These have original paint and patina. They measure approximately 15 1/2" x 12" and are 2 1/4" thick. One has a little damage to the top. Which any carpenter or woodworker can round off, do the same to the other, and make them both match exactly. This were salvaged from underneath a cottage that was built in 1866 in the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, Oak Bluffs, on Martha's Vineyard island, Massachusetts. This has original natural patina. It does not have coats and coats of paint on it- some drops and remnants of"Methodist green" paint here and there. This measures approximately 19" x 10 1/4" and are 1 3/4" thick. It has a little damage to the bottom drop. Which any carpenter or woodworker can round off. See all photos. This beautifully carved corner corbel probably came off of a piece of antique furniture or possibly out of an ornately decorated room. It could be repurposed and added to a piece of furniture. Added to a shelf or displayed in many other ways. It is essentially symmetrical except for the different style of flowers located near the base. The wood cylinder at the top looks like it was added just with glue and could probably be removed relatively easily.
