On the back it says'8 jours days. 7 rubis jewels' and is engraved with the letters MCW 1962. Condition is lovely, with just a tiny dent in the surround(see pic) a small chip to the bakelite(see pic) and minor discolouration. It has been working perfectly since I got it. The front and sides have sound frets backed with red velvet. We have carefully and completely cleaned and restored the clock to a very high standard. The large and stunning dial is enamel on copper and is complete with it's original finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex bezel. The bezel is marked for the retailer Charles Hour. Antique HENRY MARC FRENCH Ormolu SEVRES Porcelain PUTTI CLOCK Cherub Brass Gilt Offered for sale is this beautiful antique French gilt metal clock. It ... morewas made by Henry Marc of Paris. The putti are taking birds from the nest at their feet. The open cage sits next to them. The two Sevres style porcelain panels also feature putti or cherubs with birds. I am not a clock expert so please bear with me. The clock has a pendulum that that is numbered"347" the same as the movement- so I think it's original. The key was made in England so I doubt that is original. I gently wound the clock a little(without the pendulum installed) and it runs. But obviously too fast. It chimes on the hour. I hung the pendulum where I thought it should go and the clock did not run very long. Please email me if you have any specific questions, and I'll do my best to answer them. SIZE: The clock is 12.75 inches tall. And approximately 13.5 inches wide. It weighs 11 pounds 3 ounces. The clock face is just under 3.5 inches diameter. CONDITION: There are some rubs and tarnish to the finish. I haven't tried cleaning the clock. I don't see any repairs or damage. In the photos. You can see what looks like some"separations" in the metal but it is not damage- some pieces were cast separately. Please see the close up pictures for the best description of the cosmetic condition. Here is a fine 19th Century Second Empire gilt metal and brass eight day table regulator clock. The façade of the clock features foliate decoration ... moreand volute feet on the lower portion. A male figure stands on the raised ground next to the movement casing holding a small bouquet. The white enamel dial features Roman numeral s and Brequet-style. Blued steel hands for the hours and the minutes. Above the X11 are two letters- R/A. This is a secondary fine timing adjustment. The letter R means retard or to slow it a bit and A indicates avance or to speed up just a bit. There is a slight scratch on the dial which extends just over the V1 chapter on the dial. The time and single bell movement is visible on the reverse. The movement also features a brass bob detachable gridiron pendulum which can be adjusted as well to fine tune the accuracy of the movement. The back plate features the makers stamp and movement numbers in addition to an additional stamp for La Croix de la Legion d'Honneur which he was awarded for his contributions to Horology. The top center of the dial bears the name of the clockmaker and noted horologist Constantin- Louis Detouche(1810- 1889) Constantin was the head of The House of Detouche who were on the forefront of French Horology by combining artistic elegance with scientific precision. The dial has an abbreviation-Fseur which means fournisseur or provider as he was appointed as the official clockmaker to The City of Paris and to the Emperor Napoleon III as well as the Croix de Danneborg by the King of Denmark. During the mid 19c The House of Detouche presented at many Horological and Industrial Expositions where they would submit their latest and technologically advanced and complicated creations. This clock measures 11"x 11" x 5" and overall 14" x 14" x 8 ½" in a period. Ebonized oval wood base with a glass dome. Up for auction is very hard to find and beautiful movement for antique French portico/empire clock. Manufactured in France as I believe around 1830. The movement has a nice metallic dial in a good condition and beautiful gilded bronze bezel. The movement was professionally cleaned and oiled, mainsprings were changed and now the movement is very clean and works perfectly- it runs and strikes in the hours and half hours. The outer diameter of the gilded bronze bezel is a little more than 5" approximately 5.1" The shipping cost in 48 continental states is $19 with insurance and tracking number. Antique French Clock Movement by Mougin
This is antique French clock movement. Manufactured by famous clock master Mougin(has his stamp on the back plate) as I believe around 18 5 0. The movement came from old clock master estate and looks very clean(shining) and works(there was note in the box from clock master that the movement was cleaned and oiled. That the mainsprings were changed and that the movement works perfectly) The movement runs and strikes on the hours and half hours. Though I did not test it for a long time. The distance between keyholes is approximately 38 mm. B etwee n center and keyhole 14 mm and the center and the axle for a d justment 42 mm. I n the box together with the movement there was also the bronze bezel with the front door with the porcelain dial and pan. It will go with the movement. The dial has small damage near numbers 7 and 11. The dial fits the ... moremovement. But the holes in the front plate of the movement for the pan feet have to be a little bigger(not for me to do this) The bezel will fit the opening approximately 4" a little less) What you see on the pictures i s what you will have. I believe this is the case with this particular clock. As it came from the estate sale of the scion of an old and prosperous Boston family. It is extremely well modeled and cast. Featuring design elements on all four sides. At first glance. These decorations seem to be symmetrical. But they are not. For example. The foliage on the front surrounding the central scallop shell is slightly different from side to side. This is true of all of the foliage ... moredecorations on all four sides of the case. This slight variation from side to side avoids the static effect of absolute symmetry, which can be deadening, even in decorative objects such as this fine clock. At the very top is a wonderful finial. Also asymmetrical, featuring what looks like a Tulip blossom. This rests on a neo-classical, fluted Doric capital. This clock is rather large. Measuring 14 1/4 inches tall, 9 3/8 inches wide at the bottom of the front feet and 4 3/4 inches deep between the front and back feet. There is no damage to this clock at all; it stands straight and secure. Some purists lament the fact that I sometimes place new movements in these beautiful old clock cases. But. As is often the case, the original movement of this clock was broken and corroded beyond all hope of repair. So my thinking is that with the new movement, this beautiful object can be returned to its functional purpose; that is, to tell the time. Which is does perfectly and beautifully. This clock has all of the charm and beauty of a 19th Century Antique Clock without any of the troublesome concerns often associated with such. And it never needs winding. I will. Absolutely gorgeous EARLY 19th century FRENCH Provincial tall case clock movement painted Michel Wehrle a Paullilac on a white enamel face surrounded by a BRASS repousse face with a relief flower filled urn. Small tear to the facing on front bottom right hand corner(see photo) and clock is not in working order. Antique Bronze Gilt Clock Case No Movement French Tower Shelf Mantle
Up for auction is a beautiful case no matter what movement you slide in here! This piece(mind you I am NOT an expert) has a very European look. So I am guessing French. Please take a second(or 20) to look at the designs/patterns and come to your own conclusion. There are 2 stamps inside across from each other. Both markings are the same, it almost looks like a cup or Paul with an S on it. Other than that I have not a clue. But it is beautiful. And it is HEAVY! The construction of this clock case looks like a picture frame, it has one leg to support the clock to stand well. The clock case is 8-1/4"H x 7-1/2"W x 3"Deep. The case fits the the movement maximum 2-1/8"D and minimum 2-1/16"D. x 1-1/2"Thickness(maximum) The case is 1 lb 10 oz. unpacked. No marks and the age unknown.

Antique French Movement for Portico/Empire Clock
Up for auction is antique French movement for portico clock. Manufactured as I believe around 1840. The movement has nice porcelain dial in good condition(all white spots are reflections) the dial has some small chips on the edge under number 6; I think that these chips will be fully or mostly covered by ring(bezel) where the movement has to be install. There are also small chips around keyholes, practically invisible. The movement was professionally cleaned and oiled. The mainsprings were changed and now it looks very clean(shining) and works perfectly- it runs and strikes on the hours and half hours. The diameter of the pan is approximately 4 7/8" The dial itself is approximately 4 1/4" The movement comes with the key. No pendulum. I have the pendulum for the portico clock on Ebay now. But I have no idea, if it is fit this movement- ... moreI just took one from several pendulums, that I have for sale from the old clock master estate. Antique French Ceramic Silk Thread Movement Clock
For your consideration is this beautiful Antique French Ceramic Mantle Clock. It's 17" tall 16" wide and 5 1/2' deep. Beautiful floral ceramic case with numerous roses. Case has no chips or cracks. Normal crazing for an item of this age. The clock has a time and strike silk thread movement that is running. Clock is finicky in that it has to be perfectly level to run. Is missing strike arm but chime side strikes when tripped. Has a porcelain dial that has a repair around winding arbor as seen in photos 6&7 and a couple of hairlines also in photos. I would date the clock to around 1880s. Clock comes with key.

The serial number 3227 is stamped on the movement. The clock strikes the hour of the day on the hour and once every half hour on a cast bell rewinding is required around once a week with the key provided. The condition of the polished black slate case is excellent(please see photographs) having engraved guilded detailing. The hand painted ceramic dial is excellent without hairline cracks or chipping having a bevelled dial glass supported on a hinged decorated brass bezel. Or to be more specific, for the Art Nouveau period and style that this work of art was made in. It has been fully checked and oiled by a professional clockmaker, and works perfectly. The figurine was signed by the famous Aug. Moreau. One of the most famous craftsman of the 19 th century. The marble and the movement are antique. The clockset has some marks of usage. What we see is a beautiful Louis XVI style base on the lower part of this work. Forming a strong yet incredibly sophisticated foundation for the rest. In its midst we find the beautiful movement and dial itself. On top of that we find a pedestal, on which a beautifully crafted figurine was situated. She was beautifully ... moredressed, and seemingly pre-occupied with what she was doing. The level of detail in which the woman was created shows how talented this maker was. The clothing seems to be made out of silk and is seemingly floating through the air. Surrounding the movement we also find beautifully decorated ornaments, with all sorts of items and flowery patterns. These beautiful item would look beautiful in any interior. It has the original French movement made by Japy Freres& cie from around 1850-1860. That chimes every half and full hour. The dial was made from enamel and has the normal numerals. It is complete, with the winding key, bell, pendulum etc. It works the way it should. The movement has a stamp that says Japy Freres& Cie grd. Here is a wonderful French Bronze clock with pensulum movement that is in need of a clock collector to restore her. As far as i know the clock may run perfectly but i di not have the key so i really do not know. It is stamped France-and as you can see has a wonderful porcelean love scene.
