antique French inlaid wood clock Made in France with convex glass
Here is an unusual table top(or mantle) wood cased clock that was Made in France I believe the wood is inlaid. But I am no expert when it comes to wood. Overall it is in excellent condition. And measures about 9 5/8" high, 8" wide at the base of the brass legs. The only markings I found on it were"Made in France" on the back of the movement. As well as the numerals I show you in the pictures above. The clock is in working order. And does not use a pendulum or need a key. As you can see in the back the winder is part of the movement itself. On the very top of the movement is that wheel that spins back and forth just like a watch. The clock works fine. But I cannot attest to the timing of it. There are some nice accenting brass ball finials on top. And all four legs are made of brass as well. There are two pillars in the ... morefront that have brass finials on top and bottom I am quite sure the dial is porcelain. But I cannot be sure. I have tried looking for any cracks or breaks in it but I could not find any, so that makes it even more difficult to determine if it is porcelain. The hands look like brass. And the convex glass in front. the glass is surrounded by a brass frame. The casing on the bottom right is a little loose. A small bit of glue will hold it well. But I will leave that to you. You can also see on the right side there is a small sliver/piece of wood that is missing. Not that noticeable but I thought I would point it out just the same. This is truly a magnificent Schneider Clock from France. It is ball shaped in cut crystal. The crystal piece has a brass edging around the opening for the clock. The clock has bezeled brass frame that sparkles. It has roman numerals. The face says Schneider on top. The bottom says 8 ancre 11 Rubis It is a wind-up that works perfectly. The back of the clock is stamped France. It lifts out of the crystal holder easily to wind up. It is heavy fine crystal that weighs 1 1/4 pounds. The clock is from the 1940's or 50's. There is a faint"82" stamped on the back, and a sticker that shows the clock was repaired in 1979. I'm listing this for my friend's father, so it's not my personal clock, and I know very little about these. My friend's father had feared he overwound the clock, but it was keeping time and chiming normally once I got it home, so I think it's OK. The company logo stamped in the back of the workings has the date 1855 on it. This French clock movement maker existed from 1823 to 1870. See this video to hear the gong: Excellent condition! No chips. Gouges or stains in the brass. Ornate floral, grape leaves, grapes, apples? fleur de lis and scroll work on the clock and the matching set of urns(which can hold candles) The urns also have cherub/ angel baby faces on them, and the base design of the urns also match the base design of the clock. Comes with a wood stand with velvet top. The stand seems to be antique, but probably not original to the set, as it is marked"DS" on the bottom. Nice gold leafing around ... morethe edges, though, and the stand keeps the mantle from getting scratched if you move the clock. The velvet is crushed and has antique wear, but no rips or holes. I ran the clock for 1.5 hours as I took pictures of other items at the consignor's home. And it worked great, gonging at each hour and 1/2 hour. Check out the video above to hear it! I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. But odd surfaces can prove difficult sometimes as I lack a pair of calipers. With over a thousand items in my store. Errors do occur, albeit infrequently. This is a really amazing piece that we think dates back to the beginning of the 1900's. The clock is housed in a solid bronze statue that features a cherub playing the harp and a woman looking down upon him. The base of the clock is marble with a red/pink and white swirl pattern. This is an absolutely beautiful piece with ornate decorations typical of the French style at the time. This piece comes with the key and the chime bell. The back of the bronze statue is marked"Made in France" and the back of the clock movement is marked"Horlogerie J Paris" and has a"Marquee Deposee" trademark. As well ... moreas the number"6867" stamped into the movement. We couldn't find any other marks that indicate exactly where or when this was made. This is an absolutely stunning piece that would make a great addition to any collection, and will add a real touch of class to any mantle piece! Condition: This piece is vintage and used with some wear but the springs are in great shape. When the clock is wound it goes for a short period before stopping. There is no pendulum included which it needs to keep going and the chime bell needs a nut to keep it screwed into place. There is some light wear and tarnishing to the bronze. Which is typical of bronze this age. There is some light wear to the marble base, mostly at the corners where the is a bit of wear. The bottom of this piece looks like it was repaired at some point in its history. Please look closely at the photos for condition details and ask us any questions before bidding. Looks like there is a number 1105 with the letter L also on the bottom. Also seems as if someone fixed a spot on the face with some white paint as indicated in the above pictures. Wall Clock Mid 18th Century France
This beautiful Mid 18th Century French clock has the name Robert Beaurepaire printed on the white face. The face has roman numeral numbers in black. In the black frame there are many inserts of mother of pearl making a lovely design. I have been told that it is either a Morez or Cartel wall clock. The measurements are 24 1/4 inches in length. 19 3/4 inches in width and 5 1/4 inches in depth. I do have a key for winding. I have owned it since 1963. I will be moving into smaller living quarters and am selling many art items to someone that appreciates them.

Materials: The clockcase is made out of high gloss laquered wood and adorned with brass elements. The clock is equipped with an 8-day movement. The clock strikes the quarters(first strophe of a melody) and on the full hours it chimes the full melody and afterwards strikes the hours(e.g. 8 times at 8 o'clock) On the back of the clockcase is a button which allows to silence the clock. The dial face cover is still original and slightly arced. It has its ORIGINAL BOX which is quite unique. The box has a red removable panel that will allow the clock to be seen with it fully inside. This would help to protect it while it was riding around. It is quite unique that an original box would still be in such good shape. Given the age. It has an rectangle beveled glass view window on the top under a small swing handle, and the other 4 sides are flaned with the same great beveled glass. The white face has a few hairlines through it, but they do not seem to hinder performance. This piece is in working order as it stands, however it will need a good once over when you receive it, as with any antique clock that is shipped any distance. The piece is signed only France on the face. A well made clock in a small package with its original box. It measures approx. 5" tall and 3 1/4" wide by only 2 1/2" deep. A very distinguished Art Deco period clock. Made in France by Jaz. This clock is a beauty! The outer frame seems to be made of either clear bake light or lucite. It has a diamond point crystal cut look that is very stunning. The clock itself is in fine condition. The hands move and are completely in tacked. I wound it up and it ticks nicely. I am not a clock expert. But clock seems to be in good antique working condition. This is a wind up style clock. It has Paris signed on the face. Materials: The clockcase is made out of carved wood. The carvings are hold in a strict geometrical design like it is typical for the french Art deco. The clock is equipped with an 8-day movement which runs fine and keeps the time accurately. Eight hammers on eight iron bars are doing a great Westminster chime: The movmenent chimes each quarter an hour the first strophe of the Westminster melody and plays the entire melody on the full hours. The dial glass cover is still original and slightly domed. The lower glass panel is adorned with a silver-lining. I don't know the age of this clock. But is stamped H H for Harris& Harrington. It is also stamped FRANCE and has a Lion stamp. The dial is porcelain and has 1 hand. It has the key with it. There is a thin strip of wood missing on one side. I didn't really even notice it at first. I don't know if it works. Sold as is. Aesthetically very nice. It appears to have a Turkish theme with the camel. The final& wooden finials are all intact. The feet look good. The handles on the ends are flower baskets.
