Antique Waterbury Paris Walnut Parlor Clock 1881 Renaissance Revival
This Waterbury parlor clock is 23 inches high to the top of the finial and 13 inches wide. The case is made of walnut and has a face near the top below a finial. The clock is the Paris model which was introduced in 1881. We believe this is an 8 day time and strike clock. The face is enamel and has a little bit of loss but looks original. The clock has some carving at the top and bottom. The clock winds fine but will only run for a couple of minutes at a time. The bell does not seem to be lined up properly with the striker. The pendulum is missing the pointer that points to the speed. We believe the glass in the door has been replaced. There is no damage to the case.

It is boldly modelled in the Rococo style. Asymmetric waisted case, decorated profusely with acanthus leaves and'C' scrolls. To the top is a large elaborate urn with'C' scrolls and a shell motif. The clockmaker is the rarely seen Parisian maker G Mignon who is listed in Tardy. Dictionnaire Des Horlogers as working in the Rue Jouye-Rouve in 1870. It is of lovely quality. Heavily made but with a crisp, light design. The dial is enamel on copper with separate minute ring. It is complete with finely fretted gilt brass hands and convex glass fitted to the Rococo bezel. The French movement is of high quality and has the G Mignon mark on the movement backplate ... morealong with that of the retailer. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is a replacement. It runs for 8 days and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. Very nice condition except for a very small chip on the side. I never even noticed it till just now. Can be seen in photo. All it says on brass in case is"Duplan& Salles Fabricant" A Paris.Not sure if they are the maker or not.Its also stamped"52" and I think thats as in 1852. It weighs about 16lbs. 9 5/8 tall. Base is 9 1/4 wide and 5" deep. Comes with key and pendulum. Clock works fine and keeps very good time.

When one melts silver one can lose as much as 5% of the weight in the smelting process and I can not be held responsible for weight lost after melting. I do not generally melt anything that is well made as it makes little sense to me. So any potential loss should be considered before purchasing my items. All my items are measured with a standard tape measure and are rounded off to the quarter inch. I attempt to be as accurate as possible. But odd surfaces can prove difficult sometimes as I lack a pair of calipers. With over a thousand items in my store. Errors do occur, albeit infrequently. This is a very large heavy French soldier figural clock. Moven is open escapement. Made by Vincenti& Cie France and movement is marked as shown and has"1855" date. Figure is a spelter type metal. Base is marble with plaster interior. Weighs approximately 60 lbs and is approximately 21" wide. 23" tall and 9" from front to back.Clock has no hands and there is no pendulum or key. The clock adjustment dials have a light coat of rust. Clock is not overwound but I am not sure if it is functional. Will need to be serviced. Front Movement Plate that rests against clock door frame is bent but can be straightened. Figure has a crack in leg as shown. Back door is missing. Clock needs overall cleaning and there is some red paint that can be removed. Back slab of marble has come loose and will need to be recemented. There ... moreis a crack in back marble as well. A beautiful French porcelain clock by Leroy A Paris. Clock base is done in vibrant blues with gold accents and central floral detailing. Enamel clock face is in very good condition with blue numbers and has Leroy a Paris at top. Gilded frame around face is in good cond. Porcelain figure of sitting Sultan in vivid colors sits atop the clock base. Clock is an early one(late 1800's) with original pedulum. Original key is missing and back plate has disappeared. There is no damage noted to porcelain, there is wear to the gold detailing as pictured. Chime works, clock runs but stops, likely needs a good cleaning. This is a really amazing piece that we think dates back to the beginning of the 1900's. The clock is housed in a solid bronze statue that features a cherub playing the harp and a woman looking down upon him. The base of the clock is marble with a red/pink and white swirl pattern. This is an absolutely beautiful piece with ornate decorations typical of the French style at the time. This piece comes with the key and the chime bell. The back of the bronze statue is marked"Made in France" and the back of the clock movement is marked"Horlogerie J Paris" and has a"Marquee Deposee" trademark. As well ... moreas the number"6867" stamped into the movement. We couldn't find any other marks that indicate exactly where or when this was made. This is an absolutely stunning piece that would make a great addition to any collection, and will add a real touch of class to any mantle piece! Condition: This piece is vintage and used with some wear but the springs are in great shape. When the clock is wound it goes for a short period before stopping. There is no pendulum included which it needs to keep going and the chime bell needs a nut to keep it screwed into place. There is some light wear and tarnishing to the bronze. Which is typical of bronze this age. There is some light wear to the marble base, mostly at the corners where the is a bit of wear. The bottom of this piece looks like it was repaired at some point in its history. Please look closely at the photos for condition details and ask us any questions before bidding. Jacob Petit Old Paris porcelain mantle clock with shelf
A handsome and elegant signed Jacob Petit mantle clock with supporting shelf. The clock has a porcelain dial with Roman numerals in black and bears the inscription"Hry. Mare. A Paris. The dial is set around a brass rim with tooled beads in brass. The clock surround is a rich profusion of scrolls decorated in gilt and the lower part of the clock has a design of two birds fluttering on either side of a gushing fountain surrounded by garlands of roses and gilt scrolls. The sides and top of the clock are richly and profusely decorated in a luscious plum color with cartouches depicting floral sprays of roses, tulips, corn flowers and dahlias in rich tones of pink, blue, yellow, violet, and russet and this entire cartouche is surrounded by a decorative border of gilt scrolls. Below and above these are additional designs in gilt and the very ... moretop of the clock has a spray of gilt. The shelf of the clock is richly colored in the same plum color as the clock sides and top with elaborate gilt scrolls and garlands along the sides and front and a design of flowers along the front of the base in tones of pinks and blues. The brass cover at the back of the clock is missing, but the pendulum and key and all working parts are in order, though the clock will need to be fine tuned by an expert clock person to ensure it is in good running order. Jacob Petit's initials"JP" appear on the inside of the clock shelf in a deep blue. The approximate dimensions(including shelf) are: 12 inches tall by 9 inches wide by 5 inches deep. The clockworks are marked: Schuller a Paris. It measures 14" tall by 10" wide by 5-1/2" deep. In working order with the original pendulum. Tells the time, gong chimes the hours and halves.
