It measures 36 inches long by 24 in ches tall with the lid closed by 20 inches deep. It features a remova ble storage tray and more linens. Beddings. And clothing can be placed underne ath for conv enient additional hu ge storage. It is a wood structure trunk and frame with smooth me tal(black) and woven pattern metal riveted overlays with beautiful beading to ta ck in metals and curved and straight gorg eousl y grained wood slat s. Here's what I stated about it s condition: Metal overlay surfaces have been repainted and restored. Some scratches and scuffs marks on beautifully grained wood slats. Leather handle missing on left side. Flip up side locking latches both flip up into locking position. But only one catches to keep it lock closed and the other is missing its catch. Center locking latching closes in position but does not lock and there is no key. Interior lining shows foxing and staining and has some t ares due to great age. But smells clean with nice scent like cedar inside. Truly a rare beauty of extra large size that has great looks and craftsmanship on evident in these earlier era pieces of exceptional beauty. So you may want to grab it quick, before it is gone! Note: Not shipping overseas nor to Alaska on this one. Only to domestic United States. It has a very pretty pressed tin design mixed in with the wooden strips. It really makes a very pretty display piece and has kind of a modern industrial look about it due to the pressed tin. It would look great in a warehouse loft apartment. It is in display condition but has issues as a useable trunk. Both of the old leather side handles are missing. The large front center hinge lock works fine but I do not have a key for this trunk and don't know if the lock works. Both of the side front locks have issues but display well. The box measures 12.5" long x 7' wide x 4' high. Has one compartment. The outside of the box shows some age appropriate wear, the photos greatly magnify the surface wear, in person the box wears the patina of age gracefully, and presents very well. Painted navy blue on the outside. It features wrap around decorative brass hardware on the top and bottom edges of the trunk itself and on the four corners of the top, please refer to photos for detail. There are two wide decorative brass bands running up the front of the trunk and the lid, across the top of the lid, and down the back of the trunk, all held in place with tiny brass nails. The lid is hinged in the back, all hardware is brass. The front lid features two brass tabs which fold down onto the locking pins. Going through the locking ... morepins are a pair of Japanese locks, very rare nowadays, but popular on storage trunks in the 1920's and 30's. The locks themselves are solid brass, a collector's item in themselves- we have chosen to offer them with the trunk, as they came to us at auction with the trunk. This trunk is unique is that it has all it's original stamped tin and it also has 4 metal roller wheels on the bottom. The trunk obviously has some issues- there is rust present and some of the wood has come loose. The trunk is missing both of it's side handles and it does not latch properly as well. We believe the insert in the top is probably not original- if it is. It has been modified with the addition of adhesive paper. There is also a moldy smell inside the trunk. Circus Chest Trunk - Ringling Bros. & Barnum Bailey - Vintage - Wood 18"x16"x12"
This vintage Ringling Bros. Barnum& Bailey all-wood chest/trunk features great circus graphics. Including clowns, tigers and the famous"Greatest Show on Earth" logo. It is a nice large size, 18" x 16" x 12" and in very good condition. The wood is substantial, not thin. The side boards are 7/8 inches thick and the front boards 1/4 inches. It weighs almost 11 lbs. The top of the trunk has an interesting five-sided lid. Which opens with a small wood knob. The circus logo is embossed in black, as are all the graphics. A brass chain holds the lid open. Each side of the trunk has an oval hand-hold,as well as a graphic of a tiger. The front and back are decorated with a circus clown. Small Vintage Faux Wood Trunk Tin So charming vintage tin in the shape of a little faux wood trunk. The floral motifs around the base delight. And details are embossed. Once contained confections from Murray Allen and the tin was made in West Germany. It looks to date to the 1960s. The tin has some vintage wear and patina. There are some small areas of wear. Some scratches, handling marks, light soiling, some small dents/dings, etc. Some noticeable denting on lid and it dips at the center on one side. Some wear around bottom rim and the feet. And a couple of the feet are dented a bit, so the tin does not sit completely flat. Light patina on the inside and on the bottom, though product sticker is torn. Opens and closes fine. Again. This trunk is in original shape except a nylon strap that replaced leather hinge strap. The key is long gone and its missing some leather handles ect. due to age. It measures in at 14" long and 9" tall.

Nice Old Antique Trunk. I am not sure of the exact age. But the lock on it is from Eagle Lock Co. Eagle lock was in business from 1833-1954. So the age of the trunk lies in that time frame. It is adorned with black metal trim and ornate brass accents. This old trunk does show it's age in places. But there is nothing major. A few nicks, and there are a few dents or ding marks in the black metal trim. On the top front you will see there is 2 areas of chipped or worn off wood, a small amount enough to where wood putty filler should be an easy fix if you wish. There is also a very small chip place on the side you can see in pic 6. One of the hinges on the back is missing one button, see pic 9, and there is some separation on some of the brass corner pieces you can see in pic 12. I think I have mentioned every flaw. But please see all the ... morepictures for the best description. For a trunk this old I consider its condition to be normal. Also, this would make a nice coffee table. the top is flat. Vintage Embossed Metal Covered Wood Box/Trunk, Horses Pulling Plow Handmade
This large handmade box/trunk is such a great find! It is a solid wood box completely covered in embossed brass colored metal/tin. The design. Which is on the top and front, is a scene of a farmer and his Clydesdale work horses pulling a plow through the field. The sides are an embossed filigree. The metal sheet was cut, embossed and applied to the wood with small nails. There are 2 brass hinges attaching the lid and a safety chain to keep the lid from falling back. This piece measures 20" long. 15" high and 14" wide. It sits on 4 rubber feet which may have been added later. There are some issues with discoloration on the front just above the horses and on one side. Something must have dripped on it and changed the color(see photos) The hinges have rust on them. Antique Vintage 1800's J. L. George Wood Hand Carved Chinese Trunk/Chest
This is a hand carved J.L George wood trunk. The inner inscription reads J.L. George 895 Avenue Rd. Tel 34732 Chinese beaux arts carving furniture in wood. Carving furniture in jade stone. Carving furniture in brass. Carving chest. Made in China. I believe it is from the late 1800's or early 1900's. A friend of my father's brought this back from a trip he took to Shanghai in 1929. The exterior has some exquisite hand carving as shown in the photos. It is in great condition. The top does have some fading. This is probably one of the most unusual clocks I have seen. It was advertising of some kind. I think insurance maybe. I can't make out the first work or two. I acquired this particular trunk about 15 years ago and used it for awhile as an accent table with a glass top in my design studio. Although I am on the constant hunt for vintage trunks, this is one of the most unusual I have ever found and have held on to it for years awaiting another purpose. All wood construction with a multitude of wood slat reinforcements and copper straping with riveted joints throughout. Much of the original hardware. The interior is clean with remanants of an old paper lining that has been pealed away to reveal that the wood used in the making of the trunk was most likely recycled from antique wood crating. With one area showing an original stamp for the"American rubber company" I was surprised to see this and since this trunk is at least 100 years old, I think it is such an unusual and charming detail The trunk has probably had a coat of protective finish added to the exterior at some point and the wood has developed an aged and rich patina. There is a burn mark(see photo) on the left side. Indicating at some point in its history this trunk even endured some sort of fire, but is clean and undamaged otherwise. Up for Auction is an ANTIQUE Vintage Steamer Black Metal Lined Wood TRUNK. It has Nice Metal corners and has a thin lining of metal over wood. Inside it is lined also. There is an insert that has makes a shelf. The bottom of the insert has detatched from the sides. See pictures. The wood is lined with blue and white paper. It has a lock by the Eagle Lock Company which was in business in the late 1800's and early 1900's. There is no key and the middle of the handle is missing. The trunk has the intials PTM on it. The metal is scatched. Warped and dinged from use and it is very old. The lining inside also has marks and is tearing from age. It also has rivots on the sides. Vintage Antique Steamer Wood Travel Trunk Chest San Francisco California One of a kind unique personalized vintage travel trunk. Used for cross country traveling. Original hand painted name address and San Francisco in white. Reads: Harold Longmire 1 Brighton Ave San Francisco Cal. Research puts this trunk around 1930-1935. Harold Longmire born 1911 San Francisco Ca. Restoration. Trunk had wood rot on bottom. Only the bottom had to be replaced as it was falling apart. The trunk was cleaned with a little water and cloth. Shellac was used to seal and protect the piece as well as bring out the shine of the beautiful wood and white original lettering. Black accent rivets/handles and bottom trim. Antique brass latch.
