The cabinet is made from wood that's been painted white and nicely holds the porcelain drawers. The little drawers are white porcelain and have a blue detailing on some and gold detailing on others. The lettering on all of the drawers are black or dark grey. Each drawer has the name of a spice written on it in either Hungarian or German. We're not sure. You can read all of them very clearly. The"Kava" drawer is cracked in the upper right corner and the chipped in the lower left corner. Most of the other drawers are in really good shape. The drawers are labeled: zucker sugar kaffee coffee kava cocoa cukor sugar(maybe one of these is brown sugar) zemla(we don't know) nelken cloves brosel breading pfeffer pepper zimt cinammon ingwer ginger kummel cumin paprika paprika The cabinet is meant to hang on the wall and has two holes in the top piece but it also has"feet" so it could also sit nicely on your countertop. The cabinet measures 18.75" H x 5.5" W x 13.75" D and it weighs 15 lbs. The big drawers are 5.75" W x 4.5" H x 4.75" D. The little drawers are 2.75" W x 2" H x 3.5" D. We're not sure what kind of wood it is. It has some chips. Scratches, edge wear and nicks as is expected for an item of this age. It's a very interesting piece! We would date this piece as a genuine vintage c1920. The Bookcase/Display Cabinet is made from Mahogany and features ... morebeautiful bevelled glass to each of the panes. There are 3 glass panes to each of the 3 doors and they are all set individually. And are 2/3rds the length of the doors, with a blind panel at the base. There are 3 fully adjustable timber shelves to the interior and the base making a fourth self. Huge Storage! The door combination opens as a pair of doors and a single door. Additional shelves could be made to fit. The keys are original and the up and down mechanism is still in working order. The Bookcase/Display Cabinet features a strong plain shape and the whole terminates on short legs with brass decoration at the bottom. The finish is a good mid brown colour. Structurally the Bookcase is sound. However several points to note are the warping to the central door, thus preventing the door to close properly, although it does not swing open. The other thing is the finish, which has crazed, giving it an aged skin like appearance and part of the backboard has been replaced. With a recessed, shaped panel. The piece stands on carved, cabriole legs to the front. It retains it's original fittings and hinges. The cabinet has an overall height of 198cm.
