The clock has a Japy Freres& Cie movement and was retailed by the Schneider Campbell Company Union Square. New York. The clock measures 21" high or 53.3 cm and 15 1/2" or 39.4 cm wide and features an ornate base with arabesque form feet at the sides and 4 round feet at the front. Across the front of the stepped base is low relief panel with vines. Leaves and berries. At the top of the base are two winged cherubs sitting on scrolling acanthus leaves with a large swag of flowers before them. The cherubs are copper over bronze and have excellent attention to detail. This base supports and urn shape porcelain clock body. Which all hand ... moreis painted with cherubs as well. The clock face is porcelain with raised bubble design and Roman numerals. The clock face is mounted in bronze with gilt bronze mounts and hinged door with beveled glass. The clock has two bronze handles in the form of lion’s heads with ropes in their mouths. The clock has a large bronze finial at the top with 2 doves perched on flowers. The dial is marked“SCHNEIDER CAMPBELL& CO UNION SQUARE NEW YORK” This is for a 19 th century company that sold imported French clock in New York City. The movement is marked“JAPY FRERES& CIE MED D’ HONNEUR” along with the numbers“2363 4.1” The condition of the clock is very good. The bronze and copper have their original patinas and the hand painted porcelain is quite fine. The clock has its original pendulum and comes with a key for winding. The clock is running. It is an eight day time and strike affair which rings and counts the gong at the back of the clock at the half and full hour. For sale: A Antique Victorian 800 Silver Hallmarked Cherub Angel Double Picture Frame. The piece is small measuring just about 4 1/16 inches wide by 3 3/4 inches tall. It is made to hold 2 photos. The opening for the pictures is about 1 3/4 by 1 3/8 inches. The back of the one leg is marked with hallmarks and 800. There is natural tarnish to the silver and old tape scuffs to the old paper insert of the frame insides. The back has 3 tiny screws to hold the back on. There is no pitting, and there are no broken bits, or repairs. When it was originally made it would have had reins(silver or copper wire) from the cherubs hand to the turtles mouth. A silversmith could easily add this for less than $50, but I did not want to interfere with this piece and leave it to the buyer to decide. This is a very rare and desirable collectable American figural. The last time I saw one on ebay(maybe last year) it sold for $950. And I can't remember if it had the reins. Up for auction today is a truly wonderful antique European porcelain figurine of cupid. He stands 14.5" tall and appears to be in very good condition for the age. All fingers are intact and there are no repairs that I can see. No chips to flowers or other delicate parts. There are signs of age mostly on the bottom of the base. Welcome To My Auction* Up for your bidding consideration is this recent estate sale find. It is an Antique Victorian era Silverplate Cherub-Angel Boy Figural Napkin Ring. It has beautiful etchings on the sides with flowers and dragonflies. It is not engraved with any family initials or crest. This napkin ring is unsigned as to a maker's mark( or possibly it has faded as I can not find it) but I do see numbers so possibly this can assist you in knowing the maker. On the outer part of the ring are the numbers 0221 Maker's from that era are Pairpoint. Meriden, Rancine, Reed and Barton, ect. This napkin ring looks very similar to the auction that ended#290853365329.they noted theirs was a Pairpoint? Feel free to look at that auction for your own decision. Silverplate Napkin Rings are identified in a book that regretfully I do not own. ... morePossibly if an EBAY bidder knows the maker by the numbers I have given they can e-mail me to allow me to update any added information. The Napkin Ring measures 2" inches tall to the top of the Cherub's head and is almost 1 1/2" inches wide. The opening for the napkin to be placed is about 1 1/2" inches. The napkin ring is in good pre-owned condition with usage wear. Scratches, some plating loss and some dis-colorization. It also shows some minute markings where someone must have been testing to see if it had any silver content. It looks as it could use a good cleaning to make it shine. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN ORNATE CAST IRON ANDIRONS FIGURAL CHERUB PUTTI W/FLOWERS
Pair of 19th century cast iron figural andirons of a draped cherub balancing a basket of flowers on his head. The figure measures 13 1/2" tall and 7" wide. The support is 17" long. From a local estate, the cast iron figures have been painted gold. The iron surface of the figures is pitted- these may have been outdoors for a long time. The figures are posed to look like they each have one arm behind their back. One figure was broken across the chest and was later repaired. The support on the back of one andiron is permanently attached, probably by a blacksmith. Someone went to a lot of trouble to save these andirons! Even with the flaws, I think they are very attractive and would enhance a room with a touch of Victorian Neo-Classicism. A nice ebayer emailed us that they are probably English. For auction is a small antique sterling silver salt dish/ ring holder. Perfect size for 1 or 2 rings. The height from base to top of the figure is about 43mm. The(very) approximate weight is 20-25 grams. The design is an angel/cherub sitting on a shell playing an accordion. There is a 925 hallmark on the bottom. Description Up for your consideration is this. Antique Samuel MARTI& Cie Medaille d' Argent 1889 French Gilt BRONZE Bacchus. Putti& Marble CLOCK Garniture Set Fresh from a very fine estate we are pleased to offer this French Louis XVI-style gilt bronze and marble figural mantel clock and urn garniture set. Fine french movement by S. Marti& Cie. Medalle d' Argent in round body set in a chariot drawn by two goats and adorned by Bacchic cherub,putti. Mounted on a rectangular marble base with acanthus edging and paw feet. The two matching covered urns are festooned with garlands and ribbons and have finely detailed mythical fauns playing instruments on each side. One urn is slightly crooked because there is a ring that the body of the urn rests on that is detached slightly from the shaft. Please take time to view photos carefully ... morenoting the fine casting and detailing throughout. The putti are divine with their beautiful faces and finely detailed grape wreaths! So many details from the tassled pillows to the harnessed goats.you could admire this set for hours. Certainly a superb centerpiece for any home! Beautiful open escapement face with arabic numeral against white background. Original glass on door. It is in excellent cosmetic condition. Dial looks wonderful and is without damage. The body of clock is very good and has no damage. Breaks or repairs. There is some minor wear to the gilt finish. It also looks like the top cherub is missing something from his hand.possibly a torch? One top portion of one urn is askew. The clock at the moment is Not working. It appears to be possiblely overwound since I was unable to turn the key. The clock is appox. 19" long and 17" high. The urns are approx. 12" high and 7 1/2" at it's widest points. SIMPSON. HALL, MILLER VINTAGE FIGURAL CHERUB VASE You are bidding on an antique Victorian Cherub figurine holding a vase. Made by the Simpson. Hall, Miller company that was founded in 1866 and merged with the International Silver Co in 1898. It is marked on the base with the company mark, quadruple plate” and the number“032” While they were a silver company, this piece has a gold wash that is still 99% intact. It measures 9 ¼” tall to the top of the detachable vase and has a base diameter of 2 7/8” The base measures 6 ¼” tall without the vase. The glass insert has an acid etched floral and vine decoration at its shoulder and a couple of no-mention fleabites at its top rim. The figural base appears to be in perfect“as made” condition.
