Antique Blacksmith Forged Iron Primitive Farm Barn Door / Gate Hinges Massive!
These hinges are really big. Really heavy, really old, and really NEAT looking. Both together weigh 31 pounds. You can tell these were forged. I like how the outside edges were given a bevel. These hinges have spent most of their 100 plus years outside so there is rust and pitting. With proper care, they could last another 100 years. 2 antique adjustable cast iron barn door hinges. Marked J.E. Porter Co, Ottawa, ILL. They both have 2 door adjustments, in and out and up and down. The wheel assembly is marked Queen D16, the lower door bracket is marked D171. The wheels measure 2-3/4 inches in diameter, the overall size of the hinge 6 inches wide by 11 inches tall, the door mounting bracket is 4-1/2 wide and 5-1/2 inches tall. The hinges are in top condition with no cracks, chips or breaks, they retain some of the original silver painted finish.

Pair Antique Hand Forged Iron Strap Hinges for Barn Door w/ Hardware c. 1880's
Pair of Antique Hand Forged Iron Strap Hinges For a Barn Door or Old Door with Primitive Hardware. Offering a pair of beautiful hand forged antique iron strap door hinges with hardware. Circa 1880’s. It appears the straps were forged as a pair because the viewable design(as it would display on a door) has the same pattern. I.e. both having two holes that are set roughly the same distance apart. Plus. The white spots are on both and the heart finials are shaped basically the same with one ticking off to the top and one to the bottom. The top hinge is 15” long and is rolled back and flatten. It has a 5/8” hole. The 15 ¾” bottom strap’s roll back is shorter and more finely forged into the main body of the strap. Perhaps because the craftsman did not have the length of material needed to make the same shaped roll back as the shorter strap. ... moreIt has a ½” hole. As for the hardware. The straight 5” drivable piece fits well under the 15” top strap. In other words. It lines up perfectly so a pin can be inserted though both pieces. All that is missing. To make the whole set complete, is the pin. The hinge pin for the bottom is 5 ½” long by 2 ½” at the widest part. The size is such that it will fit both straps if someone wanted to switch the smaller strap to the bottom for some reason. They have a beautiful aged and untouched patina with good form and design. Both have breathtaking. Well formed hearts/spears ends. They are in excellent“as found” condition. I think the white on the straps is from aged. Dried out bird poop but I’m not positive. I’ll leave the clean up to the buyer as it’s my policy to sell antiques in their original or as found condition. This is a pair of barn shed door or strap hinges made of cast iron. When laying flat the length is 17 inches. The length of the bar with the four nail holes in it is 14 1/8 inches. Not including the hinge. The number 14 is found on each hinge part. The metal thickness is 1/4 inches. The pair weigh over 4 pounds.

PAIR GOTH RUSTIC CAST IRON BARN CARRAIGE DOOR HINGES 1-1/2" THICK NEVER USED
Up for auction if this pair of cast iron rustic looking large door hinges. the double sided hinge are 1-1/2" thickness between prongs. And measure 5" to 5-1/4" where they extend along the door edge. They are 2-1/2" at their widest and the hinge portion extends 3-1/2" They appear to be hand forged, but I am not an expert. They are in very good condition and have never been used. But there are signs of rust around the hinge areas, and some scratches where the black finish has rubbed off. They weight over one pound each and are very heavy duty.
