UP FOR BIDS IS A Vintage pair of ALLITH-PROUTY COMPANY RELIABLE HANGERS for the old style barn/shed sliding doors. These are heavy weight cast iron constructed. Patented NOV 19th. 1901 and DEC 8th, 1903. They were classified as No. 2 size. Made in Danville, Ill. I've found a few sets of these over the years but they are very hard to find. They have embossed letters of cast information on both units. Both rollers are in great shape and roll freely. I did not touch these in regards to cleaning or buffing them. Take a look at this vintage pair of ALLITH-PROUTY COMPANY RELIABLE HANGERS for the old style barn/shed sliding doors. These are heavy weight cast iron constructed. Patented NOV 19th. 1901 and DEC 8th, 1903. They were classified as No. 2 size. Made in Danville, Ill. All four rollers on these barn door hangers move freely. ~ 2 VINTAGE NATIONAL BARN DOOR ROLLERS / HANGERS ~ BIG 4 ~ ANTIQUE FARM HARDWARE
Offered are two. Never-used"Big 4" barn door rollers made by National Manufacturing of Sterling, Illinois. To be clear, these are not 100-year old antiques, and are likely of late 20th century manufacture. Each roller is about 10 inches long and 5-3/4 inches wide at the horseshoe-shaped part. The pulleys themselves are about 3-1/4 inch. These are pretty heavy-duty hangers and each weighs about 3-1/2 pounds. While the rollers were never used. They do have considerable paint loss and light corrosion in those areas. There is no damage or deformation anywhere in the metal. They are as perfectly functional as the day they were made. This is a fine old pair of antique cannon ball style barn door rollers. They carry wear and rust consistent with their age- but they roll well and they are complete. These use cannon ball style track still made by the Cannon Ball Roller Company- formerly H.H.F. Co. of Harvard. Ill. The rollers are are model X149- which is embossed on each piece. These are very unique in their design as compared to most that I've had over the years. They are exceptionally long from where the wheels ride the track down to where the brackets get mounted to the door itself. They are very decorative with the five hole pattern and the bordered lip or edging which totally follows around the mounting frame. All five holes are countersunk so that your mounting bolt or machine screw will draw up flush.NICE. There's not a mark. Chip, or repair to be found in either bracket. The Alric 4" diameter wheels rotate very freely. The wheel is 7/8" wide with the inside rounded portion at 1/2" wide. Top of the wheel to the bottom of the frame ... moreis 12-1/8" The wheel is 4" across. Well made with a 3/4" tapered front rib for added strength. About 2-1/2" thick at the wheel. Listed is a pair of Cannon Ball self oiling barn door rollers#1068 made by Starline Inc. Harvard, Ill. These are New Old Stock. They were found in an unopened crate in an old barn. ~ 2 VINTAGE NOS BARN DOOR ROLLERS / HANGERS ~ OLD UNUSED FARM SHED HARDWARE
Offered is a pair of identical steel barn door rolling hangers. These are generally used to hang sliding doors on barns and sheds. They are capable of carrying large doors and. When properly mounted, are easily operated. These are never-used old stock hardware. They are unmarked so I cannot ID or date them. They likely date to the second half of the 20th century. Please observe that these hangers have wheels with convex surfaces, and are not slotted like some. Each hanger is about 8-1/2 inches tall and 7 inches wide across the wheels. The bolt part is about 4 by 5 inches. Each roller wheel is about 2-3/4 inches in diameter and about 5/16 inch thick at the outer convex rim. They are mounted on on about 4-1/2 inch centers. Additionally the hanger is made so the door can swing outwards a few degrees if needed. Each weighs about 2-3/4 pounds. ... moreThere is some paint loss and those areas have very light rust. More so on the backside of one hanger. All the wheels turn smoothly and the other moving parts are in as-new condition. All I did was wipe them off. Antique pair FE Myers Stay On Barn Door Rollers/ hangers with box silver paint
The images are actual photos of the Rollers. The Rollers are from the F.E. Myers& Bro Ashland O. and are painted silver with red lettering. They are marked with the number 1464 and STAYON OK. I would estimate 80 to 85 percent of the original paint still exists. There is some rust but and one of the hanger brackets has more than the other. It was on the top of the box. The rollers roll freely. The bolts to attach the brackets to the door are missing. The box looks to be original to the pair. There is some damage along the edges but very nice color and graphics. The two rollers are mounted on substantial door mounts(see photos) Two eight foot roller bars are included. These bars are designed to be mounted to allow a continuous sixteen foot roller track(see photo) because one roller track has a curved indent into which the other tracks curved nub fits perfectly. The original 8 square end door attachment nuts/bolts are included also. This is not a rescued piece of debris. This setup is functioning perfectly, and was only removed to allow a simpler, more"old guy" friendly setup to be installed because I am getting on in years and cannot push the door weight anymore. I am a stickler for tradition so I was reluctant ... moreto opt for swinging doors, but I can't see this ANTIQUE SYSTEM go to scrap.
