~ 2 VINTAGE NATIONAL BARN DOOR ROLLERS / HANGERS ~ BIG 4 ~ ANTIQUE FARM HARDWARE
Offered are two. Never-used"Big 4" barn door rollers made by National Manufacturing of Sterling, Illinois. To be clear, these are not 100-year old antiques, and are likely of late 20th century manufacture. Each roller is about 10 inches long and 5-3/4 inches wide at the horseshoe-shaped part. The pulleys themselves are about 3-1/4 inch. These are pretty heavy-duty hangers and each weighs about 3-1/2 pounds. While the rollers were never used. They do have considerable paint loss and light corrosion in those areas. There is no damage or deformation anywhere in the metal. They are as perfectly functional as the day they were made. Vintage NATIONAL BIG 4" Horseshoe Barn Door Rollers Farm Hardware (SET #1)
For your consideration is this pair of National Mfg. Co. Big 4" Horseshoe Barn Door Rollers" Each roller measures approximately 10 1/4" tall and 5 3/4" wide. I found no signs that these were ever installed(see photos. No tracks on rollers or imprints by bolts or barn door on horseshoe bracket) and believe they are new. They were found on a shelf in the barn of a farm estate sale(with the second pair I have listed) and no telling how long they have been in that barn. The roller and the hinge on both move freely and smoothly and I would rate these both in good condition. The box has been wet at some time and a mouse might have had a bite or two. The brackets do have some surface rust and the high spots do show shelf wear. The new owner will decide to refinish or just wipe off and use as-is with character marks and all. In great refurbished condition these four barn door trolleys fit a standard old flat track(1 1/4" wide with about 1/8"+- thickness) Measurements are approximate but close. 11" overall height. Strap thickness is 1 5/8" clearance between strap where the door goes) would probably fit width of a 2x4(1 1/2" + a 3/4" board. But we're cleaning out the shop and need to let some things go. This is one piece with 4 wheels. It could use a little degreaser and a little oil and be good as new. But the wheels turn just fine. The wheels are about 2 1/4" wide and have a 57 stamped on them. Overall it is about 7 5/8" long and about 4 3/4" top to bottom. The wheel"tread" is about 3/8" wide. Here are 4 heavy duty. Cast iron, antique, meat hook pulleys perfectly suited for repurposed barn door trolleys. I might even say better suited for indoor applications- less moving parts than traditional antique barn hardware. Sturdy and smooth rolling) Refurbished. Beautiful rustic look, ready to use. The rollers turn freely. These are marked with the letters 501 SCF have four holes in the cast iron wheels. Overall lenght is 11 3/4. Wheel diameter is 4 1/2" very large- way bigger than any trolley wheels you're likely to find. Wheel to strap clearance is 5 1/2" Wheel groove is 5/8" wide and depth is about 1/2 inch. Measurements are approximate but close. Each one weighs 6 lbs. The right angle at the bottom makes it easy to align the door. A 2x4 sits right on it. Insert a screw through the bottom hole. They measure 11" long and 7" tall and the wheel is 1/2" thick. They are designed to screw in to the top of the door and the door is suspended from the roller. Antique Barn Door Rollers Pulleys National Big 4 Horseshoe Sliders Old 3547-14
Antique pair barn door rollers with 8' flat track. Rollers are manufactured by National. All moving parts work as they should. Pulleys rotate easily. The track has some bends in it which is to be expected from use and age. We have some 6' lengths of track if you would prefer a shorter piece over the 8' piece pictured. Antique/Vintage Big 4 National Mfg. Co. Barn Door Rollers & 9' of Track 109 inch
For sale we have a nice antique pair of"BIG 4" barn door Rollers and Track. The track is made up of one six foot cast iron piece and one three foot cast iron piece with the male& female puzzle knotches on each end of both. So the total track length measures slightly over 9 feet. Track is solid, rollers pivot and pulley wheels turn well. Replaced the one C.I. wheel in the one as the existing wheel had been cracked in the back of it. New C.I. wheel is 3-1/2" diameter while the Big 4 with the original wheel is only 3" diameter so when mounting on your door you will have to make the 1/2" adjustment. Nice rust patina throughout. Track had been painted light grey at one time when they re-painted the Barn. This is the real thing not a modern reproduction! Two National Manufacturing Co. Sterling. Illinois, Big Barn Door Rollers in as-found condition from an old barn in Texas. They are rusty, but the rollers move freely. The hinges are about 10 inches long, 6 inches wide, and the part that holds the roller is about 1 inch deep. Only one still has the“Big 4” label.
