Hi this auction is for ONE antique spindle/baluster. I have 15 to list. And I will combine. Please wait for an invoice if buying more that one.I will ship the best and most economical way. Listed is a nice. Circa 1880's, antique wood porch baluster, or railing piece. These balusters have many uses. The pieces are all the same, but if you turn them on different sides, you can achieve a different look. The approx size of each is: 21" tall, almost 3.5"one one bottom side, and 3 1/8" on the other side. Please keep in mind( if you order more than one) that the length might differ super slightly. you might have to trim one end to have the exact size. Also please keep in mind that these were torn off of a porch and there could be damage and wood loss on the bottoms. Please see photos. The paint is a white shade, slight to no chippy ... morepatina. 40 victorian porch baluster spindles 2.75" x 20" antique full set FREE SHIPPING
We bought these spindles for the front porch of our house from an architectural hardware store. Unfortunately. After we got them home we realized that we need more like 60 of them, and the cost of having additional copies made is cost prohibitive. They are a very pretty, traditional design. They are in reasonably good shape for their age but will require some sanding and wood filler in spots. We are willing to ship however the buyer wants and will not charge extra for packing them. We estimate it will cost around $50, possibly less, to ship them.

Up for auction is a wonderful chunky little section of antique railing. It measures 28" wide 25.5" tall and 6.5" thick. The balusters themselves are 3.5" by 3.5" at the ends and they are 19.5" tall if you are considering taking it apart. There are many scuffs and scratches as well as some screw holes on the bottom rail. There is some slight splitting on the top rail right above the balusters. Here is a very unusual lot of old architectural spindles. Made of pine with a spiral twist to them. They measure from12 1/2" to 45" including the end blocks. They are cut from 1 1/2" square lumber. Nicely made with no weathering but there are remaining nails in the ends of some and scuffs to the soft shellac varnish. There is a gap in the size progression of 1 piece. LOTS of uses for these spindles besides putting them back into a house. Would date to pre-1900. Very hard to find and difficult to make. Careful packaging. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING POSSIBLE

Offered as a single lot are four matching 19th century antique wooden architectural columns dating ca. 1890. These turned and painted wooden porch spandrel spindles. Or balusters, were salvaged during the renovation of a Victorian era carriage house in Saratoga Springs, NY. Each antique spindle measures approx. 19.75 inches tall, with base and top measurements of approx. 2.5 inches square. The baluster spindles have a wonderful surface! They still retain most of their old, crackled, chippy white paint. The spindles stand on their own, if you wish to use them as mantel garnitures to flank an antique mirror or portrait. While the balusters came from the same railing, they are not absolutely uniform in size down to the nth degree. They range in length from 23 1/2" to 23 3/4" and are approximately 4 7/8" wide at ends. All measuring approximately 27" long, to replace broken or missing balusters or to create a new, antique-look stairway or balcony. These balusters have just been removed from a 1900 row house in Yonkers. NY. They appear to be solid hardwood- most probably oak- and are all painted white, but have some chips in the paint. This will require either a light sanding and repainting or complete stripping to bare wood and refinishing. Lovely Primitive Antique Cast Iron Baluster Pediment Rosed& Leaves Shabby Black I didn’t have a lot of time to shop this week because of visiting relatives. But I found some awesome pieces regardless, and I’ll be going to my favorite flea market this weekend, so I’ll have a boatload of items, fingers crossed, that will be new. I appreciate your business! Here is a lovely antique cast iron baluster or pediment. It has a double rose and leaf design and a shabby old worn coat of black paint. Perfect for your decor indoors or out in the garden. It measures 16 1/8" tall, 7 1/2" wide, a little over 1/2" thick, and it weighs a hefty 5 1/4 lbs. It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition overall- not a wiggle or a jiggle. I'm showing in photos 3, and then both sides in photos 11& 12, that there is a diagonal vertical ... morecrack on one of the three horizontal irong pieces that run across the center of the piece. It's the one on the top if you have the piece standing as I do. I pushed hard, and there's absolutely no movement there. I thought I saw one on the center one too, but I only see it on one side, and it's much shorter- I do believe that that one is a crack. No other cracks that I can find. There's looooots of shabby wear to the paint, and you can see spots of surface rust where the metal is exposed- it's surface only. There's teenie light shallow pits that can be seen in the iron in some spots. The piece is barn fresh dirty, and needs a good bath- I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. I was told that these came from a Church in Maine that was built in the 1800s. The previous owner of these has kept these for 40 years but never found the right project for them. These were found in an old barn still attached to the hand rail, we removed these off of the hand rail due to damage to the rails it self, these are in a bit better condition than the other lot we have listed, they don't have really any rot on the ends but they do have some light breaks on the very ends on some of them, look at the photos, they have a very nice natural distressed look to them. The inner cut out appears to be that of an elongated heart I have not cleaned these other than a light rain we had the day we had found these they are in the same dirty condition they were found in.
