The drawers lock into place and are lined, wood on the outside. The top drawer has a key lock(not included) When you pull out the drawer, there is a leaver that you turn which unlocks the other drawers. The wardrobe side includes the hangers shown(5) and the top opens to ease in getting the hangers out. the metal slats for the hangers to slide out as well, however the right one is hard to push. Has a fabric cloth to cover the clothes from the drawers. This is a large heavy truck, but in pretty good shape for it's age and the number of trips it has taken over the years. The top(picture 6) shows the rip in the fabric. Has two tags on it. First is the Hartman Trunk co, Racine, WI. The other is on the corner and says Wasseman's, Grand Rapids, MI. That means this trunk went from the United States to Germany, then to Scotland and back to the United States. Measures 40" tall, 22" wide and 21 1/2" deep. Shipping is quoted with UPS. The trunk features a"cushion top" with a fold out hanger system with original hangers. The drawers are all there. As well as a piece that sits in the bottom drawer(see pictured photo) There is also a piece thats used to secure the hangers farther back that is pictured. The hinges are all working however need to be cleaned. The locks appear in very good condition. No keys. These trunks were the very best. Right at the top with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Secor, etc. This trunk was one of Hartmann's top models of the time, costing close to $200.that's over $2500 in today's market. Only a well-to-do gentleman or lady would have owned something this expensive and of this quality. This particular trunk is a cushion-top model, and is also gibraltarized, patentened process in order to make the trunk frame very strong. This is all steel-frame construction. The trunk features a velvet cushioned top to protect clothing during travel. All original"unbreakable hangers" a garment bag for clothing worn, all hand riveted, and featered a patented locking mechanism that actually hooks so your trunk would never open in travel. From the hangers to the cloth lining, and cloth ties, this was made for an entire wardrobe to moved about without putting a wrinkle in any of your items. Today you can go anywhere in the entire world within 24 hours by plane. Just think way back when before commercial airlines. People traveled primarily by railroad or by ship. Traveling was long, hard, and exhausting. People would literally live out of these trunks as they traveled for weeks and sometimes months on end. Thus. They were built with quality and built to last, which is why they have stood the test of time! The craftsmanship that went into the construction and design of theses ole’ trunks are truly nothing short of spectacular. I recently discovered this wardrobe trunk buried in the rafters in the attic of a local farm house estate in a in nearby town. It stopped me dead in tracks and I had to literally pick my jaw up off the floor! There was no way I was leaving without this trunk. And lucky for me I had hubby to carry it out of the attic and down 3 flits of stairs! And now for the decription… This is a nice authentic period Wardrobe steamer trunk. It is signed on the exterior by the maker Oshkosh Trunk Company. I am unsure of the exact age. But it was clearly left where I had found it for a very very long time. If I had to guestimate I would say it is likely from the early 20 th century. It measures 40 x 22 x 20 inches and weighs 75 pounds respectfully. The exterior is covered with what appears to be a volcanized material with dozens of original brass. Nails, knobs Hinges, Lock and hardware. The lock comes with key and functions as designed. On the interior right side. The trunk has 5 wood drawers with original deco drawer pulls and covered in swanky antique fabric. It measures 41-1/2 inches in height or length. 22-1/2 by 22-1/2 inches in width and depth. It is totally original. It is a light beige colored tweed, with a dark brown leather trim throughout. Inside(left side) there are 4 drawers with beautiful pull handles. On the opposite side is set up for your clothing with wooden hangers. It has the original curtain, clothes bag, and another small compartment in the bottom closed off by another curtain. Vintage steamer trunk Circa 1915.any insight would be appreciated Louis Vuitton Measures: 40" x 24" x 28" This trunk spent most of its life in Key West and found its way to Colorado where it has been stored for the last 20 years. The humidity from key west has lent itself to corroding the nails that hold the interior fabric and have bled into the fabric as well. "Everwear" vintage wardrobe steamer trunk Nice
I have a very nice vintage steamer trunk wardrobe. This has been used so there are a few things that would need fixed if it were ti be made perfect. I tried to take as many pics as possible to show you the trunk. It is beautiful and will make a great addition to your home or collection. I cannot locate keys. The handle is missing on the bottom and is attached to just one side in top. The other side will pull out and is not attached. Some minor water damage but nothing that destroys the integrity or durability. The bottom of trunk shows some wear from travel. Dark green and black with name in white lettering. The previous owner of this trunk would have been 105 this year) It is a really cool looking trunk with the 5 drawers. The old hangars, the briefcase like drawer that slides in under the clothes, and what looks to be an ironing board that has paper covering it(we did not take it out- we left it undisturbed) We do not have keys, the big lock on the front was popped but looks to be okay. There is a sticker or two that say Belber(which is how we knew that much about it) We believe this is all original and it is in pretty good shape- it does have marks and wear due to use and age but it seems to be a very solid piece and would be awesome restored. Here we go there is so much to say about this vintage Wheary Cushion Top Wardrobe which is fully fitted with key and in amazing condition for its age. The trunk is a dark green with beautiful hardware. I have included lots of photos so you can fully appreciate. It stands approx. 42" tall and 22" wide and 10" deep on each side. It has 5 drawers(1) 4" cushioned with side pockets. 3) 7" lined in Wheary fabric with ties and a large bottom drawer line in Wheary fabric that is 12" The fabric color is a light pink in the classic Wheary design with W's. The wardrobe side is lined in fabric with a fabric curtain that snaps back and has the original hangers and pant hangers. There is also a secret compartment on the bottom of the wardrobe. Deep royal blue with a striking yellow stripe and black leather accents. The interior is a pale green with white accents, a very stunning pattern by itself. Includes 5 drawers, 2 types of wooden hangers which are on an extendable rod, and a travel case. The top of the wardrobe opens for ease of access. The side says"Kenworthy, Glenside, PA. Wonderful antique wardrobe trunk found at an auction. The trunk has the manufacters name plate P Becker& Co. Makers Chicago. I could not find much history on this just that around 1930 they went from making trunks and suitecases to table tennis. Anyway this trunk is very heavy. It is in pretty good condition. It does need some cleaning up which was going to be my project but I need to find my garage before winter. The trunk is 43" tall and 21x24" on top. It opens sideways. This is a beautiful. Rare J.R. Hughes& Co. wardrobe steamer trunk in great condition. It is all original, including the hangers and the original leather handle. The top opens on one side to access the hangers. And the hangers also slide out on telescoping metal rods, as shown in the photo. Up for auction is this very nice Vintage Steamer Trunk it is in good condition considering it's age. It does not have any name on it that I can see. It has on the leather handle some indentions of words but all I can make out is R-407. The lock has Everlasting lock D63 but the lock is broke which could be replaced. I guess it wasn't everlasting. Vintage or Antique Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Travel Steamer Trunk Suitcase
This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

This old trunk is a beautiful example of the Louis Vuitton monogram pattern trunks made since 1896 in Paris. A real classic! This is a wardrobe style trunk that was designed to hold hanging clothes. When stood upright and opened in the center this would be like a personal closet and the clothes rod pulls out to allow easy access to the hanging clothes. This trunk has the original marked wood hangers. The exterior LV monogrammed covering is in excellent condition with only minimal signs of wear.Even the large leather handle is in good condition. This was a high-grade trunk with all brass hardware. Including many brass rivets all marked with the Louis Vuitton name. The demensions of the trunk are 36 x 22 x 12.

1920-1930 wardrobe steaner trunk. It is a druck egg blue.With parts of it had fabric/ silver interior. All the drawers are in tact and the hinges are in tact. The vintage handles are all in tact. center lock has been scratched, some one has used a tool to get open. Length 41 standing up. 22 inches long 14 inches closed botton to top. We are 40 miles east of Dallas Texas, I will ship, however it has to be local shipper that I can get it to easily, This trunk is gorgeous in color, I don't know if it is the original colors, It has been exposed to some moisture at some time as the fabric inside looks like it. This auction is for a beautiful antique wardrobe steamer trunk made by the National Vulcanized Fibre Company. The construction of these trunks bearing the indian-head label date back to the late 1800s into the early 1900s. This particular piece has been stored in my moms attic since she and my dad purchased their house in 1965 from an old couple who had lived in the home since i was built in 1924. I'm estimating the age of this trunk to be anywhere between 90 and 100 years old. As seen in the pictures the trunk had been only slightly used and does not show any signs of travel use. It shows signs of oxidation on the metal parts and slightly on the vulcanized material. The leather handle has not worn out and is still in good condition bearing the number 524-22. For Sale is a Wonderful Vintage Wardrobe Trunk from the Early 1900's. It is all original. There are 3 drawers on the right hand side to hold folded clothes. The left side is for hanging clothes. Included are 4 original wood hangers. 2 can hold pants plus a top/jacket/shirt/blouse/etc. and 2 are just for tops/shirts/dresses etc. There is also an adjustable bar that helps hold in the hanging clothes. Everything is original from the floral interior to the hardware and two leather handles. There is no key but keys are still available and can be purchased on the web. The lock is an Excelsior brand which dates the trunk to the early 1900's. Stamped on the lock is"USA. Excelsior Stanford, Conn#5987. The lock was loosened from one side of the trunk to allow it to be opened by a previous owner. It is, however, all there. The latches work ... moreand hold the trunk closed. One is a little hard to open. I sometimes use a screw driver to pop it open. This trunk stands 36 1/2 inches tall. Is 22 inches deep and 14 inches wide. The exterior is a forest green color with black trim on the corners and white pin stripes. The floral interior is green and peach colored. It does show signs of use. There is some staining on the drawers, and the hardware, probably brass plated, has age discoloration and/or oxidation. Kind of gives it character. Characteristics of Hartmann We are offering for sale an extremely RARE& UNIQUE fine stateroom steamer trunk. Came from an older Central Pennsylvania estate. Trunk has previous owners initials H L B. Exact age and origin unknown but believe to be from the early 1900s. 1877: Hartmann Inc. was founded in Milwaukee. Wisconsin by Bavarian Trunk maker, Joseph S. Hartmann. 1905: Mr. Hartmann had a vision to build"luggage so fine it will stand as a symbol of excellence. Because of his vision. The company grew rapidly and moved to larger facilities in Racine, Wisconsin. This trunk has early Hartmann trademark cloverleaf hardware. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. This may be the only one is existence. VERY RARE Quality constructed. Trunk interior is fitted with American golden oak and cast brass ornate pulls with drop front hat box ... morearea that can be used as a desk. Exterior is fitted with rose and silver colored cloverleaf hardware(corners are cast iron and the rest of the hardware is nickel plated brass? which I believe the cloverleaf hardware was characteristic of early Hartmann. Canvas appears to have been a deep mahogany that has darkened over the years from the smoke of coal fired trains and ocean liners. Nice shaped edging of wild boar hide(pig skin) and fine brass tacking. The skin from a boar was tougher and thicker than other animals. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. Hartmann Tourobe Suitcase/Trunk/Wardrobe All original and in great condition. This is a suitcase from the early to mid 1900s. Comes with the original hangers and is in great condition. It has normal wear(scuffs. Edge protectors have scratches, and someone used a marker to cross something out on the bottom of one side) All the hardware is original and functioning. The Hartmann badge is still on and it even has the little patent label still attached. There is a small clear plastic piece with the Hartmann name on it and a piece of paper slipped in it with letters and numbers on. Not sure what it is but it is there and the owners initials are visible by the handle Inside is in excellent condition with no rips or tears in the fabric and all snaps still there. Item is a Wheary Cushioned Top Wardrobe Trunk. Trunk is approximately 23” deep x 23” tall x 41” long. Trunk opens in half. As shown in pictures. The right half has 4 drawers on the inside, and the left half when opened has a hanging rack for clothes. Top also is cushioned and pivots up and out the way. It has a small drawer on the bottom for additional storage. Trunk is in very good condition, with the exception of the latch receptacle which is missing. Now offering, Circa 1920s Antique Belber Traveling Goods wardrobe steamer trunk/dresser. It still has the original hangers. All the drawers and original pulls, a special shoebox insert in the bottom drawer(which has the only damage to report which is detailed in our last picture) the original laundry/garment drawstring bag(almost impossible to find these days) it also has two drawer dividers in the very top drawer, the original Belber instruction manual, also included is the lock down metal mechanism for the left side of the chest, but no key. It is clearly marked Belber and the outside is in very good condition. It does have some dings and scratches that are consistent with its"worldly travels" There is a metal plaque on it that states patent dates from Feb.13, 1907- Aug. 21, 1928. The leather carrying handle is intact and not ... morebroken. The original inspector tag still hangs from one pull. This is a very nice and all original vertical wardrobe steamer trunk that has a label on it for Cappel Luggage Stores Dayton and Cincinnati. My research shows that Adam Cappel had an umbrella factory in Dayton Ohio and was in the luggage business. At this point I'm unclear whether he made luggage at the factory or simply sold it in the retail stores. It does have many of the characteristics of the Schmidt manufacturers in Oshkosh. Either way. This is a very nice piece in great condition as you can see from the photos. A large wardrobe trunk made by Henry Likly of Rochester. N.Y. established 1844. Extremely solid. And equipped with casters and great oak slats. It is signed with a brass plaque outside and a paper label inside. It is ink stamped Patented December 12. 1911. This is complete. Fully functional, and in excellent vintage condition. It comes with the original key. This rare American trunk was beautifully made in the same style of the famous expensive ones. Up for bid is this awesome vintage steamer trunk. This amazing wardrobe-style chest normally stands upright on rollers and is pulled by a single handle on the top. The trunk is intended to travel on its wheels. But it also sits nicely on its side if desired. Once opened. The trunk reveals four drawers of varying sizes on one side. On the other side, a drape hangs over a small closet. A covered small suitcase box holds wooden hangers to be used in the closet- it fits into place to make a storage space at the bottom of the closet area. The top of the closet opens up. See pics. The interior of the trunk is all nicely lined. Including the drawers. The interior hardware and hangers are intact. There is a lock on the top drawer, I do not see a key for it, although the exterior lock on the trunk comes with its key. Based on the information on the ... moreexterior lock hardware. It was made by the Eagle Lock Company, Terryville, Conn USA, no. 56K12. I could find no other manufacturer identifiers on the trunk. The leather handle on the trunk is stamped with the number 16. There is a capital letter“E” carefully painted on the top of the trunk as well. The trunk stands about 40.5 x inches tall. And approximately 21.5 inches in both of the other dimensions. The chest is black with what I would presume to be brass hardware on the exterior. The trunk is in very nice shape. The trunk is available for pickup only in Birmingham. Lots of nice hardware running the edges as well as the corners. There is no key for the outer trunk or the inside drawers. Drawers are unlocked currently. The top side above the hangers. Flips open. Has hangers that fit inside. Such an interesting piece and still looks great considering its age. Has dings, dents, and scrapes. One side has some paint marks. Metal is aged. Vintage Doll Mendel Drucker Wardrobe Steamer Trunk W/Orig Drawers Beautiful
This is a gorgeous vintage Mendel Drucker doll steamer trunk. Like the label says they made them like they made the big versions for adults. Super high-quality. This truck is in fabulous shape for being approximately 70 years old, even all the hardware on the drawers is there and they fully work, NO DENTS INSIDE OR OUT. All hardware is there, even including the leather handle for carrying. I haven't seen one in this good shape for quite a while. This will be a great addition to your collection. Questions? Just ask.
