The side compartments are 20 inches wide and two shelves are behind each door. The center section is 31 inches wide and has three shelves. The overall condition is good. There are a few minor pieces of molding missing, one keyhole cover is missing, and is in good overall condition for being 130 years old. It has panel sides, carved columns, multi-molded edge on the breakfront and carved pillars. It is an impressive bookcase with a few minor issues. This is a really nice four door quartersawn oak bookcase. When I original purchased this cabinet I thought it was a Danner sliding door bookcase. I am not so sure of that. May have been made by another company but has the same type operation. Two doors on each stackable section slide back and forth. Adjustable shelf in each section. We have refinished this piece and it is in excellent condition with a smooth and even finish. Original wavy glass and also note the brass handles-rather Arts& Crafts style I would say. Also from the same estate I purchase an almost identical unit but it has two glass doors on one section and two blind doors on the other-my stock number 14500. At any rate, the interior dimensions of each section of this unit is 31.5 wide, 25.0 high, and 14.0 deep. The overall size of the unit is 33 wide, 63.5 high, and 17.5 ... moredeep. Michigan in the early 1900s. This 4 stack bookcase is in Original finish Mahogany and is designed in the Queen Anne Style with broken arch top and pad/slipper foot on cabriolet legs. The two bottom sections meaure 11 inches tall, the two top sections measure 9 inches tall. The Bookcase measures 69-3/4 inches tall overall when fully assembled. The widest area is at the base, measuring 34-3/4 inches wide and 14-1/4 inches deep. Each individual book section measures 32-3/4 inches wide and is 13-1/4 inches deep. Hi. This is a lovely little revolving bookcase. It's a red pine with 3 grooved pine strips on each side. Base is made with an East-lake style design decoration. I would guess circa to be early 1900's. The top has a more brownish color to it which accents the piece. I am selling as found from an estate sale. It stands approx 29 inches high from top to floor with the top measuring 16 x 15 3/4 inches and 11 1/2 across the bottom of the base. Two shelves for books or display measuring 7 3/4 inch high on the top one and 10 1/2 high on the bottom shelf. Revolving motion is smooth and sturdy. Antique estate find! This was found in a storage unit that was slam full of antiques and had been in storage for over 35 years. It is believed to be between 75 to 100+ years old! There is wear. Scuffs, scratches, etc as to be expected with age, use, transport, and storage. It has not been cleaned or dusted.could use a good cleaning. There is a sticker on each piece of glass, but the glass is in excellent condition. One of the knobs/pulls is missing and has been replaced with a type of screw as a temporary fix. Comes with a 4 legged base, 5 individual stackable cases, and a top. All in all there are 7 components. Up for sale is this barrister bookcase base and top. There is no label so I don't know the precise maker. The base is missing its bottom panel. There is some veneer loss/damage to the top along with other wear and tear, so please know that these are a refinishing project. The top measures about 34" across and 12" wide including the lip on the very top. The base is about 12 1/2" wide including the lip at the very bottom, and 34" across. The Globe-Wernicke Company was created when the Globe Company of Cincinnati. Ohio purchased the Wernicke Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1899. The parent company, Globe, had been founded in 1882 by Henry Yeiser and is best known for their vertical filing cabinets and sectional filing cabinets. The Wernicke Company was founded in Minneapolis. Minnesota by Otto Wernicke, widely regarded as the inventor of the sectional bookcase, in 1893. In 1897, the Wernicke Company moved to Grand Rapids. Soon after the creation of Globe-Wernicke. Original wavy single glass pannels with mahogany lattice work. 61.5" tall. 34" wide, 12" deep. Bookcase sections are one 15" tall, two 13" tall, one 11" tall.
