The trunk features a"cushion top" with a fold out hanger system with original hangers. The drawers are all there. As well as a piece that sits in the bottom drawer(see pictured photo) There is also a piece thats used to secure the hangers farther back that is pictured. The hinges are all working however need to be cleaned. The locks appear in very good condition. No keys. These trunks were the very best. Right at the top with Louis Vuitton, Goyard, M. M. Secor, etc. This trunk was one of Hartmann's top models of the time, costing close to $200.that's over $2500 in today's market. Only a well-to-do gentleman or lady would have owned something this expensive and of this quality. This particular trunk is a cushion-top model, and is also gibraltarized, patentened process in order to make the trunk frame very strong. This is all steel-frame construction. The trunk features a velvet cushioned top to protect clothing during travel. All original"unbreakable hangers" a garment bag for clothing worn, all hand riveted, and featered a patented locking mechanism that actually hooks so your trunk would never open in travel. From the hangers to the cloth lining, and cloth ties, this was made for an entire wardrobe to moved about without putting a wrinkle in any of your items. This beautiful French Vellum Trunk. With its incredible character and elegance, sailed on the Queen Elizabeth from New York to an unknown destination. Measuring 35" long, 20 1/2" wide, and 13 1/2" deep, the exterior has the original solid wood banding and polished chrome latches and hardware. Engraved on the lock is the word"Surete" which is french for"security" Its edges are protected with original rawhide trim secured by silver nail heads. This auction is for a vintage steamer trunk. I think this is the right wording for them. This is black, hinged lid, leather strap handles on each end. Two clasp closures on the front, the main lock is missing the bottom as you can see in the photos. The inside is papered. This is worn and discolored, it is the original. There is a wooden bar on each side where the shelf would sit, but is no longer with the trunk. Measures right at 36" wide, 21.5" deep and 24" tall. It has weight to it! It is very heavy and large. Measures: 20 x22 x 40 5/8. And has a weight of 95 pounds. The trunk has some nice labels on it. It measures 41-1/2 inches in height or length. 22-1/2 by 22-1/2 inches in width and depth. It is totally original. It is a light beige colored tweed, with a dark brown leather trim throughout. Inside(left side) there are 4 drawers with beautiful pull handles. On the opposite side is set up for your clothing with wooden hangers. It has the original curtain, clothes bag, and another small compartment in the bottom closed off by another curtain. Up for auction is this very nice Vintage Steamer Trunk it is in good condition considering it's age. It does not have any name on it that I can see. It has on the leather handle some indentions of words but all I can make out is R-407. The lock has Everlasting lock D63 but the lock is broke which could be replaced. I guess it wasn't everlasting. There is a little water damage on the inside please look at photo's 3&4. This is a great way to store your special things you want to keep.Thank you and happy bidding. Vintage or Antique Hartmann Tourobe Wardrobe Travel Steamer Trunk Suitcase
This is an antique or vintage Hartmann Tourobe made in Racine WI travel wardrobe trunk. Trunk measures about 35" x 20" x 12" This has been used. There are surface scratch/rub marks on the outside of the trunk, the leather handle is broken off, the closures work but there is not a key to lock them. Trunk is has markings on the end that say Lt. Comdr. Johnstone MCVS U.S.N.R. on the end and a sticker that says Gibalterized. The Hartmann Tourobe Racine Wi sticker is intact. There are travel stickers attached to the outside and a tag that says Railway Express, Inc. War Won't Wait, if that helps to date it. This outside is black with metal, and not sure what the main material is, maybe a pressed wood. The inside is blue with 3 compartments on the fold down side, 2 of the compartments have cloth ties, the top cloth part folds ... moreover and snaps at the end, snap pieces are intact. The other side has 2 wood hangers and the metal pieces that hold the hangers fold in to hold the hangers and can be folded out when the trunk is opened. There are some water marks on the cloth cover of the fold out part and a musty smell to the inside of the trunk. The red stripes on the outside of the trunk do have rub marks.

1920's OSHKOSH STEAMER WARDROBE TRAVEL TRUNK CHEST Ironing Board PIN CUSHION
Stands about 42 tall x 26 x 23 inches. It has a last patent date of 1923. It has six drawers. One drawer has an iron holder insert and there is also an original large pin cushion that came with this trunk. Each drawer is unique with various partitions and tie downs. There are telescoping rods for the many various original hangers. There is also a removable latching box. Pretty clean inside with very light wear. The top leather handle is broke. Some minor scuffs, scratches, paint drops present. No holes or big dents. The key lock looks as if it was pried open, but it still latches the trunk shut when rotated. Rare Hartmann Vintage Stateroom Antique Travel Steamer Trunk Wardrobe Chest
Characteristics of Hartmann We are offering for sale an extremely RARE& UNIQUE fine stateroom steamer trunk. Came from an older Central Pennsylvania estate. Trunk has previous owners initials H L B. Exact age and origin unknown but believe to be from the early 1900s. 1877: Hartmann Inc. was founded in Milwaukee. Wisconsin by Bavarian Trunk maker, Joseph S. Hartmann. 1905: Mr. Hartmann had a vision to build"luggage so fine it will stand as a symbol of excellence. Because of his vision. The company grew rapidly and moved to larger facilities in Racine, Wisconsin. This trunk has early Hartmann trademark cloverleaf hardware. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. This may be the only one is existence. VERY RARE Quality constructed. Trunk interior is fitted with American golden oak and cast brass ornate pulls with drop front hat box ... morearea that can be used as a desk. Exterior is fitted with rose and silver colored cloverleaf hardware(corners are cast iron and the rest of the hardware is nickel plated brass? which I believe the cloverleaf hardware was characteristic of early Hartmann. Canvas appears to have been a deep mahogany that has darkened over the years from the smoke of coal fired trains and ocean liners. Nice shaped edging of wild boar hide(pig skin) and fine brass tacking. The skin from a boar was tougher and thicker than other animals. Pull out hanger is patented March 1905. The latch is marked Everwear TTC3 and Corbin made in USA. Stately Travel Chest Wardrobe Trunk These early trunks are very rare and hard to find and are as good as. Blue sides is some type of cloth material over wood. the bottom panel is metal as shown in photo. Hinges came loose and need to be attached. The wood shelf insert is cracked, but repairable. This trunk came from a New England convent and was the most beautiful and well-appointed trunk of a group of about 15. There is a sticker with the Nun's name and the convent on the top. Besides great form& dimensions. It uses a design I've never seen before with rows of rivets down the middle of the top and front adding a very regal touch. Great original condition for it's age. Original or early wall paper is there and in great shape. Original bi-fold drawer is there and in excellent condition. The latches work well. There is no key. For sale is an rare antique Louis Vuitton coffee table sized steamer trunk from the 1920's. It measures 43"x 21 1/2"x12 1/2" and has the monogram pattern and all the matching LV hardware. It is 100% original. All of the nails are stamped and branded LV. The interior is in very good condition with no tears in the quilted silk patterned top and just a couple of stains in the bottom storage area. It is missing the original tray insert. The original Louis Vuitton paper label is intact and is not torn. The serial number is stamped and very clear-189940. The trunk has a few scuffs and a couple of cracks on the top but it is in good overall condition. A piece of the wooden runner on the bottom is missing. Otherwise. All of the other runners are complete and undamaged. The serial number stamped on the lock is 037965. There are ... moreshipping decals all over- one reading WHITE STAR baggage room C, one large LONDON label and a great AMERICAN EXPRESS shipping label. It is the size of a small suitcase. But shaped like a trunk. It measures 24 inches across the front 13 1/2 inches deep, and 10 inches tall. It has steamer style straps. Silver accent hardware, all original. It almost has a walrus or elephant texture to the hide of the material. You can see the patterning up close in photo 12. The top part of this piece expands up about 3 inches if you fill it to do so. If not it sits flat. Photos 8& 11. There are 2 straps around the case. In great condition. A very rare antique Louis Vuitton coffee table sized steamer trunk from the 1920's. It measures 43"x 21 1/2"x 12 1/2" and has the monogram pattern. Matching LV hardware/nails& is 100% original. The interior is in very good condition with no tears in the quilted silk patterned top. Inside is very clean& original. It is missing the tray insert. The original Louis Vuitton paper label is intact and not torn. The serial number is stamped and very clear-189939. Unique orange dyed triangles are in the corners of the top(see photos) Vuitton did this to differentiate similar trunks while the owners were travelling. The trunk has a few scuffs but is in excellent condition. All of the runners are complete and undamaged. Lock stamped with serial number 036566. The strapping is some form of inflexible metal. Steel perhaps. The leather handle is missing one end and does slip out. SUBLIME VINTAGE SHABBY CHIC BLUE/BLACK CHEST/COFFEE TABLE/ TRAVEL TRUNK/STEAMER This auction is for a really lovely shabby chic. Blue coloured, Mossman style, travel trunk/ chest/ coffee table. Measuring approx 36ins(94cms) x 17ins(43cms) deep x 18ins(46cms) it is a traditional steamer type trunk having protective studded bands on the edges, with metal corner protectors, twin locks at the front with a central clasp. There is a leather carrying handle at either end. It is finished in a blue/black colour with an attractive patina to it. The catches work well but are a little stiff and there is no key for the locks. I nternally it has the original lchequered lining material. It is in good general condition but has a few signs of use as one might imagine. With scuffs, nicks, scratches and so on and there is a tear to the top and another smaller ... moreone, but nothing detracting and all very characterful! The lining is clean and dry with two very obvious ancient ink stains. please see photos) This is a beautiful old travelling chest which stands with real presence- the perfect combined storage chest and coffee table! I believe this to be over 100 years old so there is plenty of wear. It's been well traveled! The two latches nicely latch while the center lock hinge has been removed. The hinges are well attached as well as the top wooden cross bars. The inside is fantastic! Beautiful linen lining. Looks very good. Antique travel chest blanket box steamer trunk vintage wooden banded victorian
An old original fab steamer chest with lots of metal banding and end cap brackets. It is a original steamer chest from circa 1900's and would have been used on the ships of old Metal handles at each side. Front locks and clasps there is no longer any key for the middle lock long gone. Four hardwood slats on top with one at the front and back also. It is approx. half the height of the standard ones. So would be great for any room in the house to make a great look and not take up to much space. The chest has a nice shiny bri wax finish. It has been around for a hundred years and will come with wear and tear as you would expect which all adds character to these items, But is still a strong fab little chest.
