I have spent endless hours locating a source for these knobs. This auction is for 2(two) AGED/BURNISHED) base knobs. Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. If you want the knobs polished it is an additional please see the other ad. 1900-1915 Globe Wernicke Quarter Sawn Oak Stacking Bookcase Section that has the banded sides and is all original with original sticker in the back Pattern 113 grade 299 Standard E 13 1/2 unit Globe Wernicke Co. It is approx 13 1/2" deep 34" wide and 15 1/2" tall. The original glass is good. The back is still very solid and has the original pull which is a little crooked due to the fact that the screw is bent that is attached to the pull. The scissor hardware for the door is all there. The two boards on the top are good and strong. It is a little dirty but will clean up nicely. Pictures will show you views of this item. This is a Gl obe We rnicke bookcase section. It measures the standard 33" L x 13" W x 14.75" H. The label is missing but I believ e from others I've had it's a mahogany finish. The good news is that it's st ructurally very s tur dy and the glass is intac t. All hardware is present and the door slides as it sho uld. It does need some refin ishing to be perfect. T he scratches on the inside are primarily surface marks and not deep scratches. They are smo oth to the touch. One of the metal kn obs on the top needs repair as can be seen in the picture. Five Section Globe-Wernicke Oak Sectional Bookcase- ca. 1940's
This five piece oak sectional bookcase also has the original top and bottom pieces. It is missing three doors and needs re-finished but when that is done you will have a $1500+ piece of furniture. I'm not sure of the age. This is one of the first pieces of furniture my parents got after they were married in 1946. I'm not sure if they got it used or new. This is located in Hagerstown, Maryland, just minutes from I-81 and I-70. It is currently in a storage unit so we will have to coordinate times for you to look at it. Has the step back board, compatible with"E" or"D" size stacks. Quarter sawn oak. Uses a hinge/slide system nearly identical to the early Globe system. NO door knob or glass. With a few bottom parts this would drop right onto a Globe or Macey base. As you can see in the last picture a Globe top(or section) fits nicely on top. The Globe top in the picture is NOT included. The bottom board has been broken then nailed back on backwards, it looks bad like it is but simply needs to be flipped and glued. Old Globe Wernicke 3 Section Bookcase. Pick Up Only
This is an old Globe Wernicke three section bookcase. It is a craftsman piece.solid and sturdy. Unfortunately. Someone painted it. It is heavy and I believe the wood is mahogany. The Globe sticker remains affixed to one section. There are no splits or cracks to any of the pieces. The larger middle section is 36" high. 20" wide, and 10 1/2" deep with three shelves. The larger corner section is 36" high, 10 1/2" deep and wide with three shelves. The smaller corner section is 24" high, 10 1/2" wide and deep with two shelves. This is for local pick-up only. I would consider driving to meet the buyer if it's not a great distance!

You are buying one-1-single cabinet from the 4 section bookcase that you see. It is one of the 4 large center sections. the base and top are listed in other sales. These never had doors and are slightly taller than the ones that you find with doors. Size is just over 33" wide by 13" deep by 17 1/8" tall to the very top. The section that shows when stacked is 16 7/8" tall. The very top of the cabinet is a little smaller so that the base of the next section can lock into it. The smaller section at the very top is 31 9/16" wide by 12 1/8" deep. I have 4 of these cabinets that make up the larger stack. You are buying one with the chance to buy additional if you are the first buyer. If you buy more than one you need to buy one-pay for it-then buy the next-pay-and so on. I cannot combine shipping and ebay will combine ... moreit by weight and their combined invoice will be wrong. As you see the total structure it stands 80" counting the top cap and bottom base. There is lots of wear and scratching/loss to the paint and they could use cleaned up better.Some have writing and old tape on them. One of the sections has 2 holes drilled in the right side that you can see in a picture. The one picture shows the top inside of the cabinet. The only piece that is signed is the top cap. There is rust on the base but not much rust on anything else. The cabinets weigh 32 lbs each before packing and will incur even more dimensional weight by the shippers due to their size.
