Knob width at the TOP DIAMETER is 1 3/16" TOTAL KNOB HEIGHT is 7/8" BASE WIDTH IS 1/2" These are the correct size and profile for the drawer bases for Globe Wernicke® and Macey stack units(although they work great for Gunn, Lundstrum, Weis, Danner and others as well) There were at least 8 different styles of knobs. This style was the most prominent and the best made of the 4 cast versions. It is made of polished brass and then aged to match your original knobs. The aging and burnish process takes a 5 step process and can be hazardous to perform. The aging/burnishing is done at essentially cost. See our ad for Aging Solution. For those of you who are Globe Wernicke/Macey stack barrister legal bookcase collectors. Restorers, investors and fans these are EXACTLY what you need to finish detailing your bookcase desk units. This auction is for 2(two) matching or one pair of bookcase desk tract WOODEN STOP assemblies. I have shown the use of the stops in the photo with installed tracts in the unit. The bearing assemblies I sell on ebay go thru the front of the tract and the wooden stops go at the very rear of the tract(up against the back of the unit) to act as the door stop. The size of my stops are identical and are specific to each tract or size unit(D,C,G,H and 41 inch units) ... moreI have all sizes on hand. The finish looks like new wood but can be aged with a little walnut stain if you like. Original stops are on the left in the first photo for comparison. They come with 4 attaching correct brads but there were several styles of those used and we include one of the more common styles. The stop is important to prevent over opening of the door when pushing back the door and causing damage to the rear panel, scissors assemblies and it holds the rear of the tract in place for smooth operation of the door. Without the stops the doors jams as it moves backwards, as the tracts tend to expand outward towards the rear if not fixed down. The pieces are precision cut and perfectly dimensional formed. We have all door stops for all production Globe Wernicke units. People often use the Globe Wernicke hardware to convert their Macey units when the irreplaceable door tract parts are missing on those as well. Rockwell-Wabash Barrister Bookcase Section Very nice find. Rockwell-Wabash stuff never shows up. Measures out the same as an"E" size Globe Wernicke or Macey. Original finish. Has the step back board, compatible with"E" or"D" size stacks. Quarter sawn oak. Uses a hinge/slide system nearly identical to the early Globe system. NO door knob or glass. With a few bottom parts this would drop right onto a Globe or Macey base. As you can see in the last picture a Globe top(or section) fits nicely on top. The Globe top in the picture is NOT included. The bottom board has been broken then nailed back on backwards, it looks bad like it is but simply needs to be flipped and glued. Up for auction is this WHOLE lot of barrister bookcases. Bookcase and file sections, doors, tops, and parts. these all came from the same estate and were in a big jumbled pile when I got them. I've matched them up the best I could into three whole bookcases plus some leftover doors, pieces, and sections. All sections except one are Globe Wernicke or Macey(the other is a Humphrey Widman) and all/most sections are oak, maybe a couple mahogany(or oak with a really dark patina) Most sections have doors, most doors have glass. Some of the extra doors have glass, some don't, some are missing the knobs, etc. The doors come from Macey, Globe Wernicke, and Lundstrom. Massive 7 Part Antique Quartersawn Oak Sectional Bookcase Globe Wernicke Macey Massive 7 Part Antique Quartersawn Oak Sectional Bookcase. It has 5 main section- 4 are the normal style with top sliding glass door and 1 is a 2 door cabinet style plus the matching original top and base sections. I found some numbers and markings. I am fairly certain it is Globe Wernicke, possible Library Bureau or another famous maker from the 1910 era. The unique thing about this set is the size- by far the largest size sectional bookcase we have ever seen. The sections all measures 33" long which is about the normal length but they are all 17" wide and 13" high- much larger than most for those dimensions. It will need some attention and hopefully minor fixing- some of the internal hardware pieces are missing and the scissors and slides will ... moreneed some adjusting. The sections are all in good, solid condition with no cracks or major damage, a few spots of edge chipping to the quartersawn oak veneer but over not bad. All the original knobs are present. The top is fine and solid with a couple ring marks where some previous owner probably had placed a potted plant but I really think these would polish up fine. The base is intact and solid but the finish is very worn, the best thing we can say for the base is it does the job. My 17 photos should show you a fine example of what is being offered. Guaranteed a genuine classic 1910 era sectional elastic barrister bookcase in the desirable quartersawn oak. We are asking for local pickup as this would be very difficult and expensive to ship; I can take it to a local shipping store who offers UPS Ground professional packing and shipping but please be aware it would be very costly with 6 huge boxes. Up for sale is this barrister bookcase base and top. There is no label so I don't know the precise maker. The base is missing its bottom panel. There is some veneer loss/damage to the top along with other wear and tear, so please know that these are a refinishing project. The top measures about 34" across and 12" wide including the lip on the very top. The base is about 12 1/2" wide including the lip at the very bottom, and 34" across. The last photo shows how the top fits on a Macey D12 section, those sections are about 11 1/8"
