Capable of seating six people comfortably when it is fully opened. The mahogany leaves are single solid boards with reeding along the edges that mirrors the legs, each hanging on original hand forged iron hinges to easily swing up and down. A flamed mahogany veneer completes the apron of the table. The table has six legs, an expensive feature that was time consuming and reserved for a more affluent client. It allows the table to remain firmly rooted while the leaves are extended, truly making it a fully functional dining table. The legs swing over knuckle joints formed of solid oak. In unison with the exterior of the table frame, this surrounding what appears to be pine secondary wood making up the inside of the table frame. These thick secondary woods are remarkably strong and allow the leg to remain in nearly untouched condition after nearly 200 years. The table rests over turned double-rings over sharp reeding, to terminate again in double ringlets over tapered feet. This is a very attractive example for collectors of American forms. Crafted in a distinct manner to that of John Needles. Needles is well known as an artisan with significant output in the Baltimore. Maryland area during the height of the American Classical period. Labeled and documented works by the shop of John Needles are typically accompanied by unusually strong and nearly triangular reeding on legs or pillars, typically in tables though also found in large cabinets and sideboards. ANTIQUE TOLEDO UHL TALL INDUSTRIAL DRAFTING CHAIR STOOL 1930-1940's
This Antique office drafting chair is one I know the full history of. It came from Cottrell's Printing Press Manufacturers in Pawcatuck, Ct. Made by Toledo Metal Furniture Co. UHL Steel USA, it's age is est. 1930-1940. I purchased this chair in 1969 when Cottrell's was upgrading furniture they sold these to employees. The chair, stool is very comfortable as people sat in them for 8 hrs or more a day. When I bought the chair it was close to 35 years old and I have had it for 44 yrs. This was built for an industrial machine shop setting, it is fully adjustable from 28" low setting to 32 1/2" high setting as well as the back rest being adjustable, it swivels has a curved seat made of walnut veneer 16" x 14" the back is 6" x 13" also in walnut veneer. A comfortable foot rest at 12 1/2" high is made ... moreof metal. The entire base is metal with a bit of surface rust on it, otherwise the chair is in excellent condition for it's age. Hi again. look at the pictures. i do not think this has ever had a lot of children rocking on it. it is in wonderful condition for the period. i think this is not a civil war relic. but civil war in style. and certainly not new hand shaved/ carved wood. 24 inches tall. the wicker is almost perfect. there are some round head nails added to the legs. but it is mostly pegged. there are 2 faded green lines on both the seat ... moreand the back. this is an almost pristine yellow color. never left on the porch in the rain. lol. i can find no breaks or broken wicker bits that i can find. all tight anyway. it would look fabulous in the doll room. put that big teddy bear in it to guard the girls. lol maybe in the nursery. but many of these childrens chairs were made by indiana convicts. i think the richmond jail made chairs for something like 90 years. mine is not marked. my chair is in nearly new condition. but seriously handmade and near a hundred years of age. anyway. Up for consideration is this Amazing Antique Folding Beach Chair with Striped Canvas and Canopy. Chair probably dates to the 1930's and is in great shape! Canvas still has bright colors with stitching intact. Canopy has a fringed edge for that extra beach statement in Green. Red and Yellow stripes! Chair is sturdy and reclines to three positions. The item for sale is a vintage Art Deco MckayCraft by Mckay steel sling chair in good solid condition. There are no breaks. Cracks or tears. The surface has some minor scuffing and pitting which can easily be buffed out. The heavy fabric is in need of some cleaning. There are no rips or tears. The upholstery is free of cracks. Stains or repairs and is free of odor and smoke. Chrome is excellent with just minor scratches here and there hardly worth mentioning. NO RUST. The chair is super comfortable, nice spring to it and the seat sits nice and firm, springs are still excellent. This is a beautiful piece that was manufactured for the Bell System Telephone company. Most likely in the 1930's. This is a tall chair made of solid wood with a wicker seat. The chair is on a metal swivel that can adjust the seat to the proper height for the operator. This chair has four legs that spread out from the center post with a round foot rest on top. The back side of the chair has a metal tray that would have typically been used for the ladies' purses or personal belongings. The bottom of the chair is stamped"Bell System" ... moreand the side of the chair is marked"H-W 20 M" The seat of this chair is made of wicker for a comfortable surface. With the chair extended up as far as we could get it, the chair stands about 44" tall. This is a beautiful and classic piece that would make a great addition to any vintage and antique furniture collection and would be perfect for any vintage telephone company memorabilia collectors! Condition: This chair is very old and has some wear. The piece has some wear from use. But is sturdy and easily holds the weight of this 200+ lb man. The wicker seat has some wear with the wicker ends fraying around the edges. The wood has some scratches and dings here and there, but is in generally good condition. There are a couple small screws missing(notably one from the back of the back rest, see photos) and there is some copper wire wrapped around the chair on one side. Nice mid 30's armchair from salon made by the barber equipment maker Theo Kochs. They called this ovaltube since the steel is formed in an oval- a look that did not catch on in the mainstream until years later. This style is often attributed to KEM Weber. Gilbert Rohde or Wolfgang Hoffmann but their catalogs do not list a designer. Similar to furniture made by Lloyd, Howell, Troy Sunshade, Royalchrome or Mckay. This chair has seen many years. It is an all metal chair with 4 rubber feet. The feet are in very good condition for it's age as is the chair. It is from the 1930-1940's. I have even sat in them back in those days. It has four rubber feet. As you can see it has been used over the years. It is very sturdy for the age. There are some stains My Dad used this chair to work with his hobby of processing and developing film of pictures he took. Photography was his hobby in the 1940's and 50's. This chair as well as another armed dining chair were part of my grandparents' home since the early 1900's. I'm not certain what wood it is. But it is very heavy, hard to tip over. Phoenix Chair company- signed circa 1925-1930 Slipper lounge chair- 32" deep 32" high 22.5" wide approx. This company ceased to exist in the mid to late 30's as it burned to the ground. Prior to this it was considered one of the greatest producers of high quality furniture in the United States. They had several designers work for them. But the records are exceptionally scarce and lost. Here is a chair from them circa 1930's in remarkable condition with a never before seen floral printed pattern on vinyl. We have not come across this style of floral vinyl before and it is probable the company had it made for a certain line of chairs. But as to who designed the floral pattern is unknown. Up for bids is a Vintage Children's Standard MFG Wooden folding chair. This antique chair has two patent numbers stamped on it(1633721 and#1752306) It was from these numbers I was able to determine the manufacturers name( Standard MFG) The patent numbers trace back to the early 1930's. Chair is in very good shape and folds nicely. It's difficult to describe vintage wood to everyone's satisfaction. Which is why I took many pictures and will honor the request for more. Wood appears to be in very good shape in my opinion. Unfolded. This chair stands a total of 25 and 3/4 inches, It is 12 and 3/4 inches wide. Folded total height is 29 inches. VINTAGE 1930,s Burroughs Adding Machine Co. ADJUSTABLE Metal OFFICE DESK CHAIR
What I could find on this chair: American industrial low lying all metal factory office"posture chair" with swivel casters made by Burroughs Adding Machine Company. Detroit, MI. This is an early 1930's american depression era industrial factory office file clerk or cashier chair designed and patented by Ernest Bacz of Detroit MI. The chair has a contoured thin metal saddle seat with a adjustable back rest. The seat is supported by a centrally located cylindrical shaped telescoping post containing closely space slots for height adjustment. The base has four legs with swivel casters. One of the casters has some wear on outside of caster, see Photo# 11. The casters are stamped Noelting-Faultless, Evansville, Ind. No. 9. The chair is painted green with typical surface wear. See Photos. There is some white paint on leg and bottom ... moreof chair which can be easily removed( will leave that up to buyer) Also included is the seat pad& back pad. These look to be original to chair as there are snaps on the backrest to attach the pad. Seat is approx 17' W x 15' L, backrest is approx. 12' L x 5 1/2' H.
