No makers mark that I can find. I count a total of 7 old flat head screws used on the chair. Its still in great usable shape. I can ship it in a large box. In my experience of shipping items like this, I figure it will cost around $50.00 so keep that in mind when bidding. It is a really neat chair. It was found wearing tacky new casters but those have been replaced with better, smooth, and more age appropriate casters compatible with this kind of furniture. Look how it sits proudly. As if anticipating a hard earned driver's license. If you are concerned about the size of this chair(32"H x 23"W x 19"D) do not worry as many different people tried this chair and found it remarkably comfy. Handbanino did and having a small frame I thought this chair would be too big but I almost decided to keep it as my main chair. Actually I would probably suggest buying it before I change my mind. VINTAGE JOHNSON CHAIR CO US BANKERS COURTROOM ADJUSTABLE WOOD AND RATTAN
Offering a Stunning Johnson and Chair Co. Office/Bankers Chair This Johnson Chair Co chair is pretty rare not found in any listings after long research! It swivels around freely and tilts way back might need to be adjusted? It measures approx. 36" tall when swiveled down and up to 42" tall when swiveled up. Seat is 21" wide and 20" deep. Arm rests are 12" deep by 8" tall, wheel to wheel 19" wide. Its wood type. Age and style is puzzling surely its old but I cannot pin point if its pre 1950's or pre 1900's Style wise it has many beautiful lines going for its self. Has very art Deco lines mixed with some Nouveau and Victorian! The back rest. Seat skirt, arm support has a very strong Art Deco look, and the base legs are carved with some beautiful flowers and leaves that gives it a victorian/ Nouveau ... morefeel. The entire chair is carved in detail pictures just don't do justice. It has a very chunky strong metal wear at the bottom which is marked in various areas Johnson Chair Co. and Patent Pending the#10 and K. The back rest and seat are rattan and one of the areas is starting to become loose as expected with a chair this old but over all still strong. Some of the wood has a bit of splits but sturdy and strong still. No loose wood parts, The screws and metal parts may need some adjusting and oiling. I have only cleaned it with mild oil once. It still has a rich patina. No repairs that I can see. One screw of the 6 that are attached to the metal base of the bottom of the seat missing this is easy to correct. Vintage Boling Bankers or Library Chair. This chair was in service in North Carolina and withstood the test of time. It is extremely sturdy and in good shape. There is some wear is on the arms and a small spot on the seat so look at the photos. There are scuffs on the legs as would be expected for a chair this age. This chair was made by the Boling Company of Siler City and I would guess it to be early to mid century. It still has the tag. It is a caramel color. I have another one that is the same style and color. The chair seat measures 19 1/2" across the front and 15 1/2" from front to rear. It measures 34" from the floor to the top of the back of the chair but can be adjusted up or down. As this is a vintage chair there are dings to the wood from years of use which can be seen in the photo's. The underside of the chair has a heavy duty cast iron mechanism with a threaded rod. This allows the chair to swivel and tilt. There is also a screw on the mechanism which allows you to adjust the chair up or down. This will allow you to adjust the height of the chair to fit your desk. The four rolling castors look to me to have been replaced. T his antique solid oak office chair has a stunning wood grain.
