It has the original hardware on the drawers although some of the drawer pulls are missing parts of their swivel handles. The desk drawers pull in and out smoothly and have dovetail joints. There are some nice carved details to the front of the desk, but it will most certainly need to be refinished as there are a lot of scratches on it, and some stains inside the drawers as well. The desk is 30” tall, with the space for the chair being 21” high, and 17.5” wide. The desk is 48" long, and 18" wide front to back at most.

Antique Desk & Chair Art Deco Ealy Century Maple 1900-1940 Desk Child & Chair
Here is a beautiful child's desk& chair set. Somewhere between 1900& 1940. This is a small version of the larger ones made then. Picture#8 shows some letters& words that I cannot seem to make out. Of what was probably the manufactor. It has the original stain, which has not even been attempted to re-finish. Some think that would ruin this set. Children have definitely used it, for the wear you see, but it is solid and sturdy, and has lots of wear left in it. There are three drawers on the right side, and the top one locks. you may be able to find a key for this, or ask a locksmith to make one. Above the top drawer that locks is a little slide-out board for writing on. There is a large center long drawer too. The chair swivels, and has cast iron framing, with an adjusting center screwing device which allows for the chair height ... moreto be as low to the floor as 14 inches, up to 16 inches, easily. At it's taller setting, the chair is 29 inches tall, from top of back to floor. The seat is 12 5/8" wide and 12 3/4" deep. This is extremely well made, and sure belongs in someone's home with a child who will enjoy and use it. The desk measure 29 inches tall, and is 33 1/2 inches wide and 18 inches deep.

I have a 1940's desk for sale. This desk is priced to sell quickly! The dimensions are 30" tall. 22" deep, and 44" wide. The drawers are dovetailed and slide very easily. The hardware is all original and in mint condition. This desk was purchased new by my parents. It has two beautiful coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint(Provence) was distressed, and finally waxed with both dark and light wax. You will not be disappointed in this fine piece of furniture. Up for auction is this beautiful wood Typewriter desk with convertible shelf and an Antique Underwood Typewriter. These two items came from my Grandmothers Estate. She used the typewriter clear up till around 1998ish because her handwriting was so shaky and her vision was not so good. Based on what the relatives think. We believe that she had acquired these items sometime in the 40's. May need cleaning and oiled. Hasn't been used in a long time. The desk is solid but it is appears to have UV Fading and some nicks and wear from being moved from one relatives home to another. Have its original handles. Has 6 drawers 2 of them have a wood divider for files. There is a pull out shelf on each side just above the drawers. The Typewriter sits on a wood shelf that has a wood block behind it to hold in place. Beautiful original condition leather topped Mid Century Modern late 1940's Edward Wormley for Dunbar desk. The color is a dark shade of green that almost looks bluish. Please enlarge each photo and inspect the many areas of wear. Slight peeling of leather top on the sides. Abrasions along the corners and edges. Knicks and bumps here and there. This is a gorgeous vintage SOLID wood desk. Yes it is made of real wood. Not cheap pressed board. It was also, MADE IN THE USA. Super top quality by Taylor Made of Jamestown Ny Table Co. Dates from approximately the 1940's-50's. Nice large size. The top measures 48" wide x 24" deep. 29.5" high. Kneehole is 20.5" wide and 23.5" high. This has 8 drawers, four on one side, 3 on the other. One drawer is a double deep one. There is one center drawer, which has a lock, but alas, no key. All drawers are dovetailed. The drawers have vintage brass hardware, which has a nice patina. This appears to be original. There is a turned"rope" like decoration around the entire top of the desk. Finish is a brown/red color and is lovely. This is a fabulous piece of furniture, and a great decorative piece. 1920-1940 Mahogany Secretary Desk Bookcase with Drawers
Love the compartments inside this 1920-1940 mahogany secretary desk bookcase! There are 3 shelves inside and the glass doors that have lovely fretwork. The 4 claw feet are vintage worn. The drawers form a really nice serpentine base. The drawers open and close easily and have their original hardware. The goose neck or swan neck arch pediment on top has a middle finial which we are re-attaching. When the desk is opened there are 6 sleeves. 3 serpentine drawers and one"secret compartment" behind the door in the middle. The outside of the drop down desktop is lighter in color than the rest of the piece and really adds a nice depth. The desk was loved and used; the wood is worn. Here is a beautiful vintage 8-Drawer Wood Desk. Circa 1940's. I couldn't find a maker's mark- although I didn't look underneath- but it looks a lot like Desks made by Maddox of New York. This Desk is well-built and solid- each Drawer features Dovetail construction. This Desk has an imbedded red Leather Top. With gold detailing, Brass Drawer/Side Handles and a 3/8" thick piece of Glass on top. There are three Drawers on the top- a smaller Drawer on each side and a large Drawer in the middle. Below these top Drawers there are three Drawers on the left side and two Drawers on the right side; the bottom right Drawer is a two-Handled File Drawer. This Desk is in good condition for it's age. But does have various blemishes here and there, including some nicks, scratches, scuffs, dings, stains, etc. Some of the Drawers are ... morea little tight when pulled/pushed in and out and could use some lubrication/wax. It was wrapped for protection and stored in an airport storage hanger by Sugarland. A brass plate located on the left inside panel on the desk authenticates the desk as"Property of Hughes Tool Company” with the serial number for asset inventory of the company. It is constructed of solid walnut with 24K yellow gold trim that wraps around the top. The drawers have fitted wooden partitions that are removal and are engraved with the Doten-Dunton Desk Co. logo; along with several other places. Acacia burl, imitation leather, and brass tacks 74.9 x 132.1 x 81.3 cm(29 1/2 x 52 x 32 in. Through his nearly two decades of work for the Herman Miller Furniture Company. Gilbert Rohde helped define American modern design in the first half of the 20th century. In 1940 he created the Paldao Group, an 80-piece suite of furniture influenced by the biomorphic shapes associated with Surrealism. Rohde himself considered the desk from this group to be such a successful example of an undulating, organic, yet wholly modern form that he used the term ectoplastic to describe it. Antique / Vintage Office Desk, circa 1940 WITH CHAIR
Circa 1940 Office Desk. 4' x 3' very good condition. The drawers are 3' long each. The lamp is also included in this auction. The desk pad and glass top are not available; the glass top was broken by the movers. The movers also made 3 gashes on the top of the desk. We tried to blend in the gashes with a brown marker, but I'm sure it can be fixed in a more professional. Other than that(and a little wear along the bottom and sides) it is in very good shape. I am also throwing in an office chair, also in very good condition. All items sold as is. We're moving, hence the low starting bid.

LA Historic 1940'S Oak Desk Antique Wood Large Heavy Vintage CA Pick Up
Our Dad is sadly downsizing to a retirement home and must give up this amazing. Historic, behemoth of a desk! Sit down at this amazing piece of LA past, and know you're a BOSS. I rescued it from the mezzanine office of an old warehouse in Silver Lake before it was torn down due to gentrification. I managed to save several and this was the best example, so it came to live with my family- now perhaps yours for it's next chapter. Feet are still wearing the original brass caps, and the center drawer still features the original key! I found this taped inside many years ago, shockingly, but this desk has been used with love. The body of the desk consists of quartersawn oak in a rich medium dark finish, lots of gorgeous reddish browns and many thick, mackerel highlights as well as smaller scaled striping. The top was extremely damaged linoleum ... morewhen found, and we stripped and sanded the top underneath. You could certainly add new old stock linoleum if preferred, but it looks lovely as is. This beautiful relic of a time gone by is actually finished all the way around so you can float it in the middle of the room if wanted. Of note are two stickers denoting it's storied past- this desk once served as a desk at LAPD headquarters and also in the Community Development Department at the City of Los Angeles. The only apology is the pull out writing boards are missing. The desk is a fairly standard size and could be cannibalized from the others that haven't survived in such good shape. Or easily cut out and stained or painted to suit. Dad reports he never missed them on account of the size of the desk, he always had plenty of room to write and do his dictation from, he was a small town pediatrician for most of his life. There are five deep and spacious drawers, one is a false fronted double, in addition to the central pen drawer, with the original insert to separate small things- paperclips, erasers, truth serum vials etc. Please come give this desk a new life! Vintage 1930-1940's Wood & Metal Child School Desk
THIS CHILD SCHOOL DESK IS VERY. VERY GORGEOUS. IT IS BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN PRODUCED IN THE LATE 1930'S OR EARLY FORTIES. IT IS IN SUPERB CONDITION. THE METAL FRAME COULD USE SOME TOUCH UP PAINT, BUT ALL THE WOODEN PARTS SEEM TO BE JUST FINE. THE WRITING SURFACE IS JUST SUPERB. IT COMES WITH THE PENCIL HOLDER. THE DESK WRITING SURFACE IS 22-3/4" FROM TOP FRONT TO THE FLOOR. THE SEAT IS 13" HIGH FROM THE FLOOR AND THE BACK IS 25" HIGH FROM THE FLOOR. THE MIDDLE BACK SUPPRT PIECE ROTATES TO ACCOMMODATE THE CHILD'S BACK. THE WRITING SURFACE IS 12-1/2" WIDE AND 18" LONG. THE TOP IS TAPERED AS NOTED IN THE PHOTOS. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO PROVIDE VERY GOOD QUALITY OF PHOTOS AS I AM NOT VERY PROFICIENT IN THAT AREA. SUFFICE IT TO SAY, HOWEVER, IT IS FELT THAT THE PRICE IS RIGHT. MANY THANKS FOR LOOKING!

1940's French Art Nouveau desk: This is an amazing and historic original vintage MID CENTURY MAPLE WOOD desk circa 1940s. Feet are magnificent and the center drawer still features the original key! Lots of gorgeous rich reddish browns and many mackerel highlights can be seen. Spacious. You will always have plenty of room to write and store in its drawers. A middle drawer separates a set of four deep and spacious drawers on either side. It does have several light scratches on the top and sides, most of which can be addressed by a quality polishing compound or scratch cover. There are 4 serpentine drawers. Original drawer pulls, ball and claw feet. Missing the key as well as 1 small knob on the inside compartment. A paper label on the back indicates the piece was made by the Northwestern Cabinet Co. of Burlington, Iowa. This company was in business between 1866-1971. This item is available for local pick-up in the Greenville. SC area.
