Made in England. Circa 1890 Mahogany Chippendale style See condition report in description Clean and sturdy, If you are looking for a bedroom piece with a plethora of storage. Then look not further! This antique mahogany tall chest of drawers has six graduated drawers just waiting to be filled. The term graduated refers to the fact the drawers get deeper as you move down the chest. This stunning piece was made in England. We estimate it was built sometime around the year 1890. It has a very Chippendale look and feel to it. Due primarily to the wonderful brass pulls on the drawers. All of the drawers were crafted with hand cut dovetails and they still open and close easily on their wooden rails. The mahogany wood has a wonderful grain and color that is sure to go with almost any bedroom suite. At the bottom, large and strong bracket feet provide lift and support to the entire chest of drawers. Each drawer of the chest is fashioned with a lock. Unfortunately, no key remains. There is a black mark on the third drawer down and a few small dings here and there. The right side has a square of different colored finish in the back near the top and a repair at the back of the top moulding. Otherwise, this antique mahogany tall chest of drawers is in very good condition and ready to go right into your home and be used. The insides of the drawers are clean. This great looking tall chest of drawers is made from mahogany wood. Six graduated drawers provide ample storage. Here is the black mark on the one drawer as well as a look at the Chippendale pulls. The table top has mother of pearl inlays and it is decorated with hand painted gold trim and a flower pattern. The same gold trim and flower pattern is continued on the base and the column. A pedestal base is rising from a stepped circular foundation on three feet. Condition: The table is in its original condition with beautiful patina. It is shows normal wear and tear for a piece of furniture made around 1860-70. Measurements: 41 ½ inches tall when the top is up. 28 inches when top is down and 26 in diameter. Spectacular"Highly Figured Sold Maple" Chest of Drawers Circa 1895 I fully restored this lovely piece.It features incredible"highly figured" solid maple with Birdseye maple veneers on the oxbow top drawer fronts.All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made.The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All of the drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of hand ... morerubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction.Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years.The photos show casters in the legs, they will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. The chest of drawers is laid out with one large upper drawer over three smaller graduated drawers. Each drawer is finely dovetailed and faced with later replaced brasses but retains original early 19th century period brass escutcheons. The chest has a later finish but shows wonderful remnants of the original salmon wash finish. The four legs are original to the chest but have had small repairs throughout the years. The drawers are made of poplar and the back is cherry. This is HAND MADE and new. I never use pine. Only hardwoods even for drawer bottoms or backs. American made solid brass knobs. This has a glass smooth hand rubbed finish to a satin sheen. I get better detail in natural light but it does make the dresser look a shade lighter and brighter. Selling the antique 4-Drawer Walnut Empire/ Federal Dresser with Tiger Maple Inlay& Walnut veneer front c. mid 1800s. All drawers are dove tailed and have glass knobs(except the blanket drawer which has grooves on the bottom where you pull it open) The dresser measures approx 45" high x 42" wide x 22" deep. A few small pieces of veneer are missing and one small area of veneer is buckled. The front right foot has a cosmetic crack. Overall. A very nice looking antique piece of furniture.

Antique burled birdseye walnut dresser. It has a white demilune beveled marble top and large center mirror. On either side of the mirror there are two curved cabinets with a shelf in each. Picture 10 shows a small piece of veneer at the top left that has come unglued and a couple of marks. There are three large graduated drawers. On the bottom of each side of the drawers there are two curved cabinets with a shelf in each. The four cabinet curved doors are finished on the inside. All the drawers and cabinets have locks. I have the key for the top left cabinet. The drawers have the original carved wood pulls. It stands 79" high. 48" wide, and 25" deep. The marble has no cracks. The dresser is in fine condition. 19th Century Chest of Drawers Antique 1800s Maple Dresser Dovetail Top FREE SHIP
19th Century Chest of Drawers This is a fantastic piece of historical furniture. This is a chest of drawers or dresser from the early to mid 1800's. It appears to be constructed primarily of maple wood. There are several distinguishing features that influence our opinion as to the date of this piece: It is constructed of solid-wood boards measuring up to 19" in width. Which could only have been made from very large trees long ago. There is fantastic hand-cut. Dovetail detailing on the top surface of the dresser, which appears to serve no practical purpose. It is a beautiful yet subtle decorative element, disconnected from the boarder of the dresser top. The dovetails used to construct the front and back of the drawers are all hand-cut. The smaller drawers have 3 tails and 4 pins. And the larger drawers have up to 5 tails and 6 pins. ... moreThe drawer bottoms are chamfered, meaning the front and side edges and the drawer bottoms are finished at a slop. While the inside top of the drawer is flat. This was cut and finished by hand-held tools, which is an indication that it is pre-1840. All of the saw cuts in the wood appear to be parallel rather than circular. This indicates the use of mill saws during construction. The wood also appears to be hand-planed. This piece is in good. Antique condition overall with some general signs of age and use. It does appear as though the chest was painted at some point and later stripped back to the original wood. The only evidence of this is some hidden drip spots on the inside portions of the dresser. The pulls are quite old, but do not seem to be original to this piece. There are extra holes in some of the drawers where the original pulls would have been placed. These pulls look Federal in style, with oval stamped back plates and a bail. There is one area on the top surface that measures 4 1/2" 5" in diameter where finish is missing. This is possibly due to water damage. Two of the drawers have fairly significant cracks in the faces. c.1850 Miniature Birdseye Maple Chest of Drawers - Apprentice or Salesman Sample
Antiques An amazing example of fine mid Victorian American craftsmanship- a small. Correct to scale model of a chest of drawers in wonderful Birdseye maple veneer. Everything is to scale down to the hand turned pulls, drawer locks, bun feet, etc. The secondary wood inside the drawers is mahogany. Note that the chest is stepped- 2 drawers up and down. The two sections are held together with screws. And the back of the chest is covered with a beveled walnut panel. Note the finger jointing on the drawers. The top, middle and base edges are beautifully molded and finished, including the rounded corners. Nice mellow age patina. The back panel and the two halves of the chest can be removed with 8 screws. This exceptional piece was likely a salesman sample or an apprentice piece. But could have been made for a child. It also would serve well as ... morea jewelery chest. Size is 23" x 17" x 9 1/2" Weight is 21 pounds. Condition is very good- some minor losses to the veneer. And a few areas of waviness to the top veneer. Overall an exceptional piece in unusually good condition for the age.
