VICTORIAN ANTIQUE WALNUT MARBLE-TOP DRESSER- Circa 1867-1900. BEAUTIFUL condition! Must see! Drop center design. 3 marble tops(gray and white, beveled edge) Marble is in good shape, ever-so-slight stains. Has 4 smaller drawers at top, 2 large drawers at bottom, and a"secret" drawer at bottom base. Has Knapp joints on drawers(see close-up) Middle drawer sticks somewhat, but can probably be fixed. Exquisite wood carvings and raised burl walnut panels. Drawer pulls are wood carved leaf design. Candle shelves on each side of mirror. On casters. Solid and sturdy. Measures 86"H x 46-1/2"W x 19"D. The marble top in center is 26-1/2" high. Mirror mount is removable for easier transport. Please view all pictures. Solid Cherry.....English Antique Furniture Eastlake dresser commode...circa 1810
This is a charming English made solid cherry antique dresser circa 1810. I acquired this from a couple who came to the United States from England. This piece is consistent with English cabinetmaking.This is made from solid cherry planks. The candle stands which flank the mirror are wonderful.The carvings and hand turned finials are beautiful. The hardware is all original except for the 2 small upper drawers which is new. All of the lower drawers have locks which work excellently with a new key. The hand cut dovetail joinery and hand chamfered drawer bottoms are beautiful. The drawer fronts are 1" thick solid cherry, there is no veneer on this entire piece.The secondary wood is poplar. The mirror glass is new.The mirror is on tilting mounts(it does not stay fixed when tilted. Just let in hang vertically) This piece has lots of battle ... morescars(nicks, dings etc) and some repairs earned over its lifetime such as dings in both side panels about the size of a"pea" The top(across the full width.left to right) has an age separation shrinkage crack which I repaired(you can still tell there was a crack despite the repair(see photo) some drawer bottoms have age shrinkage separations,there are some age shrinkage separations(cracks) in the side panels, worn edges, small stains in the top and character marks consistent with any fine antique.I refinished the top and the mirror frame, after repairing a missing piece of wood around the mirror thumb screw. The inlaid brass keyhole escutcheons are all in place. Most of the dresser has the original finish with a gorgeous patina as you can easily see in the mirror support photos etc. This wonderful piece will look beautiful wherever you decide to place it whether an entryway. Bedroom or living room.I restored all of the drawers and reinforced some internally with wood blocking.The drawers are strong, stable and they slide excellently.I t has such delicate graceful lines which sets it apart from the crowd. all the best. this is a good example of early to mid 19th century bonnett chest. It is in good condition with normal wear. Just small nick on its right side. Measures approx. 45 1/2 inches high. 32 1/2 inches wide and 17 1/2 inches deep. Originial wheels are on and included in size. I am not sure of wood but i think its oak or maple possibly. This is a wonderful English antique mahogany dresser from circa 1870-80's. It has round solid mahogany drawer pulls. 4 larger drawers and two side by side drawers up top. Dove-tailed joinery and solid mahogany make it a great buy, and a good looking one at that. It measures 49 3/4" wide by 47 3/4" high and is 19" deep. It has a great patina and would look stunning in any bedroom.

Spectacular"Highly Figured Solid Maple" Chest of Drawers Circa 1895 I fully restored this lovely piece.It features incredible"highly figured" solid maple with Birdseye maple veneers on the oxbow top drawer fronts. All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made. The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the highly sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of ... morehand rubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction. Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years. The photos show casters in the legs. They will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. Regal Bachelor's Highboy Chest....antique dresser chest of drawers..Circa 1890
It was love at first sight when I met this Bureau/ Chest of Drawers. Circa 1890.needing to be loving restored to a majestic chest once again. I lovingly and meticulously restored this chest from top to bottom. Respecting it as the wonderful antique treasure it is.You can easily see it is a"chest on chest" style. It features beautiful walnut veneers and solid walnut woods. The solid brass hardware is all original and very intricate. Stunning really. I buffed it back to full glory. The lower drawers have a carving which outlines all the lower drawers together(see photo)There is a very small squiggle in the carving(close up photo) which was done by the maker on the lower drawer, it adds great character. No one has ever noticed it until I pointed it out to them. All of the drawers& glides/runners have been fully restored and slide ... moreexcellent. The Sheraton style legs with fluted corner posts enhance the lines of this chest.I restored the finish using many. Many coats of hand rubbed satin varnish which bringing out the gorgeous walnut grains. Built like a tank from all hardwood construction. I custom made the small piece of walnut trim in front of the backsplash.The two small doors are a very unique feature. I installed new magnetic catches for the doors. All of the drawers feature lock and keyed dovetail joinery. Strong, solid and secure displaying the finest craftsmanship by the maker. I restored the inside of all the drawers with the same hand rubbed satin finish as the exterior of the chest.The drawer bottoms are rich& beautiful grained mahogany. Like any fine antique.You will find character marks and minor imperfections in the this piece, such as nick, dings, filled holes, they add character and patina to this wonderful chest. Beautiful Handpainted Circa 1895 Cottage Tall Dresser Is Unique
Here is a beautiful and unusual handpainted cottage tall chest on castors. This is circa 1895. I love the black background with pink flowers like lilacs and roses on each drawer. The top mount, side posts and bottom crest. It has green trim borders along with gold borders as trim too. There are two smaller drawers over four deeper ones. It measures 62" high to the top of the two knobs. 43 1/4" wide and 22" deep. It is partially wrapped in shrink wrap since it was stored that way. I pulled it down for pictures but it keeps it protected and easier to move while in storage. It does have scratches and nicks from being over 100 years old as shown in the pictures. One leg was broken in the past but was professionally repaired and is hard to see. Beautiful antique Victorian or Eastlake dresser vanity. Marble tops are ivory in color and in good shape. Original ebony drawer pulls. All 4 drawers pull nicely with unique dovetail work. There is also a secret bonus drawer at the bottom that goes unnoticed. The mirror has some silvering in it. Burl wood inlays throughout. Minor wear to be found in places. But nothing terrible. The wood looks to be chestnut, but I am not positive. Great well made piece that will last many more years to come. My apologies for the somewhat awkward photos. This piece is heavy to move on my own. And the lighting was not the best for taking pictures. I am assisting a friend in selling this piece. It has been in their family for a long time. This chest is accented by wonderful brass embossed rosettes on its back galley. The period brass pulls are most wonderful and everything they should be when decorating a chest like this. Up for auction is a hard to find. Set of 8. Folky, walnut pulls or handles for a chest of drawers, desk or cupboard. This is a set of 8 pulls. Are all hand carved and because of this there are slight variations among them, giving them a folky. One-of-a-kind appeal. These are sometimes called“mustache” pulls. There is no finish on these pulls. Applying a nice oil finish would bring out the beauty of the walnut. Each handle measures near 5¼“ across and are near 2“ at the highest point. Great piece for an Antique Dealers show room. Antique Bonnet-ed Mahogany Highboy 1790- 1840. Found in an estate in Munson Township. Geauga County, Ohio. We have gone over this piece extensively, and so have many other professionals in the appraisal business, and they are confident it is an original built sometime between 1790- 1840 most likely in Connecticut. Local appraised value of this piece is $15K-$25K. It is a very ornate, all hand carved, which is uncommon for these types of highboys. Only other one we have found online that even comes close to looking like this one is in an antique shop in New York City. The piece is in very good condition for its age. Does have wood cracks and chips here and there from being moved over the last 175 years or so. On a scale of 1-10 on condition this piece is an easy 8. STUNNING WILLIAM AND MARY CHEST- DRESSER- FROM H.&S. POGUE - CIRCA 1880's
It gets harder and harder to find truly old and truly unique items. Things with the beauty and craftsmanship that is impossible to reproduce. This chest is both. The structural integrity is still there- strong and sturdy. This William and Mary style chest has every detail you can dream of-a trestle bottom with barley twist legs- floral inlay that is simply eye watering.I might also mention that every drawer has a different floral medallion surrounding it's lovely original hardware. There is also a band of tailored inlay framing the top. That same banding runs down the sides. There are seven heavy dovetail drawers(two smaller up top and five full length) The upper two have a velvet insert. I have also photographed the interior of the drawers because it is evidence of the quality work done many years ago. This dresser is American made and ... morewas originally sold at H. S. Pogue in Cincinnati. OH. The store originally opened it's doors in 1863. I believe this dressing chest to be Circa 1880's. There is a wonderful crazing to the old finish that is stunning. PLEASE view all of the photos- as you must see to get any idea of the amount of detailing there really is in this piece. The only issues I can think to mention- is that there is a couple of surface spots in the finish on the top- pictured) and it also appears that someone had to cut a little niche' above one of the keyholes(someone probably locked and lost the key at some point. Each drawer has a brass framed key hole- I do not have the key. I am also not sure if this is Rosewood or Mahogany.This beauty measures 57 1/2" high x 38 1/4" wide x 22 1/4" deep. The original label from Pogue's is still on the back. This is also a numbered piece- stamped 1161 A- and then there is a number 22 also stamped into the wood. Will ship if you make arrangements. This dresser was handmade in the Midwest during the Civil War period. Likely before 1860. The back of the dresser shows it belonged to Henry Wims(Williams) An ex-slave according to the News-Palladium from Benton Harbor Michigan(Saturday, April 1, 1950(pg.9) Henry came up to Benton Harbor from Kentucky through Indiana in 1882. When he was a young man, about 20 years of age. He had been to Louisville where the cars stopped and where there was a great concentration of Union soldiers during the Civil war and decided to follow the railroad north and see where the tracks joined the"Underground railway" that he had heard so much about. Also, his wife's father lived at St. Joseph, where there were many ex-slaves and their descendants. His travels brought him to Benton Harbor. The solid walnut dresser ... morehas hand-carved walnut and leaf pulls. Hand-dovetailed drawers and square nails show expert craftsmanship. Finish is excellent with warm antique patina. There are minor stains and likely some wax drippings of candles on the top; missing and broken trim on the bottom left; broken side edge at the back right of the dresser. see photos) Size of this classic American furniture is 40"wide. 17 3/4" deep, and 39" tall.
