The carvings. Period details and burl walnut accents on this 19th century desk are just beautiful and this desk is definitely heirloom quality.a beautiful statement piece for your home! This fine desk measures 45 1/2 inches in height to the top of the gallery at the back.Height to the top at the front measures 46 inches, with a total width of 48 inches, total depth of 26 inches and this desk weighs approximately 200 lbs. The pull out writing surface measures 41 inches wide by 21 inches deep and height from the floor to the top of the writing surface measures 30 inches. The knee hole height of the desk portion measures 25 1/4 inches and knee-hole width measures 18 3/4 inches. The cylinder portion of this desk raises and lowers very smoothly and has a large brass lock mechanism on the bottom which is marked: Indianapolis Cab. Co Pat. The lock is intact but we do not have the key. The inner desk portion is beautiful maple with a multitude of various sizes of storage drawers and cubbies.The old green felt on the pull out writing surface appears original and does show some wear and some spots. The left offers a stack of four storage drawers with period dove-tailed ends and the original pulls. To the right another drawer is found with a storage cabinet below. The lock is missing from the cabinet door. As you can see in the pictures this desk could easily be in the center of a room for it is as lovely on the back as the front and is finished beautifully all the way around. This Victorian Eastlake cylinder roll desk circa 1880 is in fabulous antique condition. This unique piece stands 68 inches tall at the center and is 30 inches wide and 18 inches ... morein depth. This is a two-piece secretary which makes moving it a whole lot easier. What caught my eye on this piece was it was a davenport desk. But instead of the typical slant front, this one has a secretary section on top. This is not a married piece, these two started life together, guaranteed. The top has nice intricate Eastlake type of carvings and half pinwheels surround the gallery. The desk top or writing surface drop downs to reveal a nice writing desk. Complete with great little cubbyholes and two drawers. There are no drawers missing, and all the hardware on this piece is original. We have the original key and it is included. The finish is original and has a rich. Warm patina. As with most old furniture, one can see areas where the finish has worn a little from use, which suits me just fine. I like to know that an old piece was used, not just displayed. I am sure if one were to use some stain in places, it would darken these wear spots right up, and then a nice coat of paste wax to continue to preserve this piece. This is local pick-up only. We will be glad to work with the winning bidder and local storage is not a problem. We are willing to deliver within a reasonable commute from the Queen City and we are always traveling to shows. So perhaps we may be coming near you and we can facilitate drop off or perhaps meeting somewhere. Please ask and negotiate before bidding.

It has burl walnut panels coming down both sides, heavy crown molded top and a crest with big ball finials on each end. It has a commode base with three drawers and a door. The only thing I don’t like about this cylinder desk is that the finish is light, similar to a cherry, but it is walnut wood. It has the original heavy bold brass hardware, and is in really nice shape. The pull-out writing surface has green felt on it. When you open the double panel cylinder roll, it reveals a simplistic double drawer interior that is simplistic.

SOLID WALNUT W/ BURL WALNUT FRONT ANTIQUE WALL MOUNTED DESK CABINET 1880'S-1890'S FOLD OUT SHELVES& WRITING SURFACE It really is hard to know where to start with this Antique piece. It is a gorgeous piece of furniture! The solid Walnut is in wonderful condition given the age of this piece. This is truly Unique. I have spent at least a couple of hours trying to research this piece or find one like it-I have not been able to find another like it! It is made of Solid Walnut. The wood has aged and seasoned beautifully. It was a true Craftsman that created this piece. The front is a Burl Walnut. Inside. There are five separate shelves. Two are removable. Three are attached to an arm and they swing forward and out. The desk surface has a track where two other arms come out and support the surface. These are of brass. The surface of ... morethe writing area is covered with velvet that was the covering of choice during that era. It is in Good to Very Good condition for the age. It does have some spots and stains on it. This is bordered with a veneer that I am not sure was wood or paper. It has peeled off in a couple of places, but is still in generally good condition. There are doors on each side of the piece that open up to reveal two small shelves on each side. These are the only thing that may not be original, but they may. They are a curved triangle. They do need to be glued in-I would say back in, but they do not look as if they were glued originally. I believe they were cut to fit very snugly without glue, but they would need to be glued to use with anything that has weight to it. The cabinet measures appx. 28" in width. 26" in height, 6" deep. The fold out writing surface comes out appx. 18" It weighs about 25 lbs. We will package it VERY carefully and would send it insured where applicable. A very fine and unusual antique. Circa 1880, Renaissance Revival Davenport lift top desk. The solid walnut case has burl walnut veneers in recessed and raised panels. There are four drawers on the left side with brass ring handles. There are matching faux drawer fronts on the right side that are decoration only. The top brown leather writing surface on lid opens to a pine and maple compartment, the cubbyhole with two burl fronted drawers. The bottom front doors have burl veneer panels. The right door opens to a compartment with stationary maple shelves. The door reverse has a birdeye maple veneer panel. The left door is faux and does not open. There is a nice top spindled walnut gallery, and carved walnut front scroll feet and drop finials. The hand cut dove tail drawer pulls out with contour corners. The drawer has a maple interior and has a divided section for your pens or articles. The base is gorgeous with multi-turnings, finials, fluted, reeded, applied buttons, burl walnut raised panels and a 2.5” burl walnut border trip across the top. The finish is a medium walnut stain with a satin sheen lacquer. The overall size is 40 inches wide, 26 inches deep and 30 inches high. It is a fantastic looking writing table. We are pleased to be offering today this true Victorian burl walnut secretary bookcase desk that dates from the Eastlake era of the 1870s to 1880s. This desk is truly Eastlake as it has the circular dove tail that was used for a short period of time and really pin points the date range of the desk. It came out of a pretty nice estate on the east coast. It appears to have been refinished years ago in a medium walnut stain finish. It has all the hardware intact. All the burl walnut panels are intact. The only thing we did was replace the felt on the pull out tray as the other one was stained. The desk comes with the original wavy glass on the bookcase glass doors top. Three adjustable shelves that appear to be true original shelves, the doors have burl panels on all four sides with ... morerosette covers and even comes with a key. It has a crown molded top, beautiful burl walnut center and the pull tray. The base cabinet sports three graduated drawers with the circular round Eastlake dove tail and carved columns coming down both sides and lots of burl walnut. The overall size is 40 inches at the widest point, 23 inches deep, 31 inches high to the writing surface and 87 inches high overall. One thing I would like to add is that these desks usually have white wood sides or non walnut sides, but this one is truly all walnut as you can see in the numerous pictures. The original backboards are all in place. The desk is a nice original desk. The more I look at it, it appears like they just put a clear coat of shellac on it to brighten it up back years ago. Antique Eastlake Mahogany and Walnut Burl Secretary
This is an Eastlake secretary from the late 1800s. I think. It's solid wood construction, mostly mahogany with walnut burl panels, very tasteful Eastlake geometric details, original wavy glass and beautiful original patina. Three adjustable shelves in the top book case; drop-down writing surface with original felt, two drawers, file bins and pigeon holes; one fixed self in the base. The two locks work with a replacement key, but they are a little sticky, and one of the rosettes that covers the writing panel pivot is missing. Measures: 42 x 85 x 11.5 top, 20 base.
