Antique vintage bronze finial topper clock? lamp?
about 5 1/2" tall. 4 1/4" wide and the screw hole is about 1/2" i'm not sure if it went to a clock or a lamp or maybe acted as a handle of some sort. obviously it has age. i dont see why it wouldn't clean up well but i do not like to clean items like this because some people prefer the original condition. likewise, if you intend to clean it. that is on you. i'm not saying you can or should clean it so if you need to take it to a professional to get it cleaned, dont expect me to pay for that. while i'm open to offers. I do know the price of scrap metal and i can scrap items myself if i wanted to. but unless this was thrown into a wood chipper i'm not scrapping it. and maybe not even then

Hi there. This is a Vintage Architectural Salvage Cast Aluminum Finial Top that measures 17" tall x 15" wide corner to corner. This piece has no damages and is very solid. It is constructed of a very thick aluminum and has black paint that shows a natural patina. It appears it may have been hinged on one side as there are 2 molded brackets with cotter keys in them and a small hole on the opposite side. I listed this decorative component as a finial but I honestly don't know what its original purpose was. It is hand"whittled" and assembled with nails and glue in a tramp art fashion. Drapery Rod Cherub Finials
For your consideration is a beautiful pair of vintage(or older) Cherub sculptures. I was told when I aquired them that they may be finials for a large window treatment rod which seems plausible after considering the large round circle sculpture behind the cherubs. However. Both pieces also have wire hangers built into the back of the piece. I placed them firmly on the wall for the photo op and they are really lovely as wall art as well. There is also a 3 1/2" flat surface shelf at the top of both(which may look nice with candles on top) Please look closely at the photos. The girl cherub seems to be missing a bit of her collar on the left side. It's hardly noticeable but it caught my attention when I was photographing her from a certain angle. Cast iron Finial from the Connecticut State Capitol building. A very rare piece of history- removed from the Connecticut state capitol in the late 1970's early 1980's during a major renovation of the 1879 gothic victorian grand building constructed in Bushnell Park(formerly Trinity college property) Prior to the construction of this building- Connecticut had two state capitals: one in New Haven. One in Hartford- after centuries of the state government alternating it's location yearly- a legislative act was passed locating the seat of state government in Hartford(of course the citizens of Hartford sweetened the pot with a $500,000 gift towards the construction of a new building! A site was chosen and paid for by the state- 6 years of construction overruns. And finally in 1879 a brand new $3.2 million dollar building was opened- ... morethe building was one of the top ten architectural wonders of it's period. A century of wear and tear caught up with the building in the 1970's and luckily the leaders of the time thought better than to tear it down- instead they spent close to $20 million to refurbish the building. This cresting- original to the building was made by Taylor& Fenn in East Windsor. CT- and recast in the early 1980's(by the same company! for the replacement iron was put back on the roof! provenance can be provided in a book commissioned by the Old State House association! This is a wonderful antique cast bronze door pull by Sargent& Co. with patent date of 1880 under the thumb latch. Approximately 10"x3" The beautifully shaped back plate and handle boasts of the same design featuring double diamonds on scrolling leaves or vines on a textured background with a smooth border at the edges. The handle can be inverted for preference of orientation.

A wonderfully detailed Architectural Finial with a floral design. The finial is made of copper with a fantastic patina and was used on the top of a building as decoration. Found in the Philadelphia. Pennsylvania area it dates from the mid to late 19th century. The finial stands 37" tall. One of the bottom pedals is partially missing and the stem has a crack in it. Antique COPPER ROOFTOP FINIAL BASE, Victorian Ornamention APOLLO
I'm not really sure if I've identified this correctly. But I believe that it's a base to an architectural finial. Its expertly handcrafted of heavy gauge copper. And shows great attention to detail. Note etched pattern around the middle and rolled edge at the top. The base is bonded to cast iron which shows the word"Apollo" and the# 14. The piece measures 4" high x 5-5/16" wide at the base. The opening at the top measures 2-3/4" across. There is also a single mounting hole on one side of the base that measures 5/16" wide. Weight of this piece is a little over 1 pound.

Such beautiful wood and so very large this antique French Chateau post or column finial is very substantial. It is 9.5 inches tall. The base is 6.75 inches wide and the"globe" part is actually oblong with it being 7 inches on the longer axis and 6.5 on the shorter. A substantial piece of 19th century french forest. It is very solid and very heavy. I am not sure if it is Walnut, Oak, Beech, or maybe Sycamore but it is definitely an hardwood. Beautiful old Diamond-Cut Crystal newel post finial This would be worthy of the finest home. It is about 5 1/2" x 3 1/2" including the bronze base.The inside of the bronze base is threaded. Many of these Baccarat Finial bases crack with age.But this one is not cracked. It doe's have tiny scratces and inclusions that are only visible on close inspection.This is a 100% Authentic item.It is not a modern re-make. It was made by Baccarat in France.I do not have the part of the base that screws to the Newel post,but I understand that reproductions are available.I have owned this wonderful piece of crystal for many years.When I bought it in New Orleans at an estate sale I was told that it came from a Victorian Era Hotel. Antique HUGE Carved Old Paint 1/2 ROUND VICTORIAN Architectural FINIAL Pediment ANTIQUE ARCHITECTURAL FINIAL DECORATION Wonderful antique large solid wood Victorian 1/2 round finial decoration measuring approximately 11" wide and 6" tall. Featuring an orb shape made from building layers of carved wood into a round form. It bears the original old weathered gray paint. Once a complete pediment ball, probably mounted to a stand or base, it retains part of the original wooden peg threaded through the back opening which would have held the two pieces together. Condition is good with lots of paint wear. Rubbing and loss as shown- stable age related wood shrinkage cracks, and general shabbiness from age- love it! I've always used this as a piece of architectural art- it makes an interesting statement standing alone on a table top or ... moregrouped with other unusual shapes. I think the peg can be removed if desired, but the orb still sits almost completely flat. However you choose to use it- piece is visually interesting with wonderful folk art appeal! If questions. Up for auction is a large-sized old cast iron fence finial shaped like a Fleur de Lis. This heavy old piece measures 7.5 inches high. Has a maximum width of 4.75 inches and the base measures 1.5 inches across. Inner square opening is 1-1/ 5" of an inch x 1-1/ 5" of an inch. Condition is great; there is random light rust. But no ob vious damage. It is pewter-tone. I don't know how old it is. I've owned it for approximately 12 yea rs. Having purchased it from an antique shop. A set of 2 vintage roof ridge finials made of steel. The ball is apr. 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The overall length is apr. 4 3/4 inches. The one with a weathered look does have a small dent in the ball which is shown in one of the pictures. There is no nails holes in that one. Possibly never used. The pictures should show the rest. 20 Antique Solid Brass Finials Lamp Rod Ends
20 Antique Solid Brass Finials. These were purchased from an estate where most everything was from Keeler Brass Company however I am not sure these are Keeler hardware. They are all solid brass. The 10 that are alike are approx. 2" tall. The 7 that are alike are approx. 3-1/4" tall and the other 3 are 3-1/8" tall. These have been stored and never used and are in good condition but could use some cleaning/polishing from being stored so many years. If you have any questions please let me know. VERY LARGE RARE SALVAGED ANTIQUE SOLID BRASS FINIAL 4" - ALMOST 1.50 POUNDS !
This is very unusual and rare antique solid brass and very very heavy finial weighing almost 1.50 pounds. It measures almost 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The patina is rich and beautiful! We found this in one of MANY boxes of lighting and door knobs etc. in my fathers basement workshop. We live in the center city Philadelphia art museum area where our 3 story federal style homes were built in the 1870s. People were always throwing the original fixtures out in the 1950s and 1960s to MODERNIZE but my father always collected them. NOW they are putting back what the last generation tore out and threw away. I dont really know anything else about this finial. Thanks for looking at my fathers finial.
