Description This is a great piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It was originally part of a piece of furniture. It is made of walnut and is unpainted. There is a wonderful carved crest along the top. There are heavy raised molding at the top and along the bottom. The body has carvings in the middle and an applied raised panel at the left side. There was a panel on the right side also but it is missing. It measures 39.5 inches wide by 23 tall. It is 4 inches deep. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning but should clean up nicely. The carved piece in the middle is faced with burled walnut veneer. The veneer is coming up and some is missing. Please look at the pictures carefully. Antique Gilt Brass Victorian Bed Crown Curtain Valance Cornice Pediment Shelf
Antique Pressed Brass Bed Crown Curtain Valance Shelf The beautiful valance features gilt pressed brass over a wooden frame. The wooden frame features a lovely finished underside with decorative wood moldings. The valance is curved on the front with straight sides. Originally used for as a drape tester over a bed. But has potential for a variety of applications. It can be mounted on a wall as a display shelf, or table. It could also be installed above the head of a bed for a dramatic drapery valance headboard. It measures 54" wide. 25" deep, and 9 1/2" high at the back, with the brass skirt measuring 5" high. It is in excellent condition with only a couple of small dents to the brass. And a very nice warm patina. Note- I have matching curtain valances available also.

This is a Beautiful old Guilded Victorian style Pediment. I believe it to be Bronze. It is very rugged and beautifully crafted. Stamped on the back it says. E.J.S. MFG Co. NY. and the# 31, Pat. appl. Antique Shabby Barbola Roses Pediment Mantle Shelf Pelmet Bed Crown Cornice
This auction is for an Antique Vintage Rare Solid Wood Barbola Roses Pediment. The paint is original to the piece. The background is a shabby muted pale creamy yellow. The Rose swags are a soft shabby muted pink with soft mint green leaves. The swag tops are tied off by gold ribbons. The top of the board is painted a mahogany burgundy tone. Above that the wood is notched and painted in gold trim– The very top of the piece is unpainted which could easily be covered with a lace runner or repainted or simply high enough on the wall to be left as is. Or perhaps the new owner would prefer to paint the burgundy the same color as the roses to make it pop more. The paint is original to the piece. There is just a slight piece of the Barbola missing on the center rose swag. But would not really be noticeable with matching paint. If a person is artistically ... moreinclined, they could repaint to the shabby color(s) of choice. The odd thing about this piece is that to be completely a 3 sided pediment– it is missing the left side. Of course a piece could be added to this minus roses. Or the other side taken off and 2 new pieces put on both side with a paint to simply match the muted creamy yellow. The left top end has a slight slant to it, so I am thinking this actually was probably a longer mantle, pediment to begin with that was cut in two& that is why the odd side without the finish. It measures 44 1/2” across and is 10 ¼” tall and 6 ½” wide. So I think I am starting with a low starting price on this in lieu of the above factor. I’m sure someone creative out there has the ingenuity to figure the other side out. The original hardware is inside. But perhaps the new owner would want to have this refurbished. I have never hung this personally. It is a substantially heavy piece. Thus the expense in shipping because it is so dense. Lovely Antique Late 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Turned Wall Decor So. I went to the auction of a lifetime this past weekend. A storage barn of an antiques dealer that passed about 10 years ago. She specialized in early primitives and American folk art and boy-oh-boy you do not want to miss this week. I took photos of the items that I bought for one full day, and still am not finished– but decided to go ahead and list what I have– enjoy! This one is sooooo pretty. And if you don't want it for wall decor. It's as simple as removing the hanger that the dealer put on the back! It's an antique pediment with lovely hand carved detail. I don't know if it started life as an architectural piece, or a furniture piece, but it will be yours to decide. It measures 19 5/8" long top to bottom and is 8 1/4" at its widest- the ... morecenter. It is 1 7/8" deep there at the center, but measuring from the very back of the piece, to the farthest sticking out part of the piece(the top, which angles out) it measures 4" deep there. It weighs 1 3/4 lbs and is in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally. The patina is dark and yummy! You can see rustic wear to the wood and finish all over- very minor- scratches, scrapes,teenie holes, nicks, dings, light spots, dark spots and finish wear down to the wood(see photos 4&7 where you can see lighter, small finish wear spots) You can see two nails at the top. And some holes at the back from when it was mounted originally. The back gives some indiaction of its old life too, as you can see that it's lighter at the bottom than at the top. The white spot at the back is an old dealer tag, it will come off. It's dustydustydusty and needs a good cleaning, I have not cleaned or messed with the as found patina in any way. Wooden Eagle Pediments Pair of 2 Antique Architectural Federal Era Hand Carved
For your Early American Eagle collection or architectural restoration project we have a Pair of Two Wooden Eagle Pediments Antique Architectural Federal Era Birds that are Hand Carved in the early 1800's. These were recently mounted on iron stands for display. Using the original holes which go through from the top to the bottom in two places on each pair to host the iron rods that they are now fixed onto. Fairly substantial in size, each of these facing eagles actually measures 10" high x 13 1/2" wide x 1 1/4" deep(thick) and are ready for display on these stands that bring them up to 13" tall. Together they weigh 8 pounds 3.5 ounces including the iron stand. They show their age from alligatored varnish and a deepened patina to the wood. These look like they may have been painted over at one time. And have been dry ... morescraped to remove the paint. They have age cracks to the wood, including one that goes straight through the neck of one bird, yet have retained their aesthetic historic value and decorative appeal. The wood these are carved from is a very dense, hard wood. Hand carved eagle figures are still considered the epitome of collectible American folk art pieces and are generally associated with the Federal style era in architectural design. Which is a period that ranges from 1780 to 1830, appearing most commonly on frames, furniture, building ornamentation, and as motifs throughout the making of textiles and American advertising ephemera. To continue, Federal-style architecture is the name for the classic architecture built in North America between c. 1780 and 1830. And particularly from 1785 to 1815. This style shares its name with its era, the Federal Period. The name Federal style is also used in association with furniture design in the United States of the same time period. ANTIQUE 1800's GOTHIC VICTORIAN ORNATE CARVED WOOD VINTAGE PEDIMENT CORNICE CRESTS A pair of very beautiful. 1800s, pediments that probably when on the back of chairs. They are made of solid wood and have openwork in the center with applied leaves on the sides. Each lovely crest measures approximately 14 1/2" across x 9 1/4" high(not including the dowels on the bottom) x 1 3/16" thick. The wood appears to have the original patina with some scratches to the surface finish. One of them(see photo) is missing the rosette in the middle and the wood is separating at the top and needs to be glued down(see photo) There must have been something else on the very top, because there is a dowel hole on the top of each one(see photo) Everything else looks great on these wonderful old pediments! ARCHITECTURAL ANTIQUE : CARVED OAK GOTHIC STYLE CHANCEL SCREEN FRAGMENT
VINTAGE(circa 1890-1900) GOTHIC STYLE CHANCEL SCREEN: This is a beautifully carved section of a heavy oak Church chancel screen. The piece is made up of a wide base rail. With a vertical section at each end, that has been joined with a dentiled top sub-rail section. The Gothic style shaping and carving is of high quality. It is very easy to see that the chancel screen was built with great care and high levels of workmanship(please note that the joints between the top section and vertical balustrade end sections did not originally match.These joints were purposely left with shims) Each side of the piece is similar in construction and finish. The heavy wide bottom rail has three hand carved oak leaf bosses on each side of the piece. The wood used to make this screen was very heavy and dense'old world' oak. There is a raised beveled panel in the center of the scrolled field. The arched panel has been mounted on a white marble fragment base that features a segment of a hand carved acanthus leaf in relief. The oak has a hand rubbed oil finish. This piece utilizes two architectural fragments to produce an interesting decorative element. The dimensions of the piece is as follows: 14 1/2" l. x 14" ht. x 3" d. This is a wonderful antique architectural header. All original. This antique header dates to the early 1900's Victorian era! This old header was salvaged from a local Victorian home! The header is all wooden and features a gorgeous old gesso ribbon swag front and center! There is also a dental moulding design along the top of the header and beautiful curves and cuts to this antique beauty! This old header had been painted creamy white, and some of the old paint has chipped and/or peeled in all the right places giving this piece a gorgeous timeworn patina! Antique 1800's- Gorgeous Victorian Roman Architectual Gothic Wood Pediment- Measurements are- 18" High x 11"1/2 Wide x Up to 3"1/2 Thick- Some pics with camera flash some without- This pediment has been one of my all time favorites.ive never some across another one like it.ive seen the same wooden womans face before but never on a piece like this and never so big,usually the womans face is much smaller, it is exceptionaly carved in my opinion,the waves at bottom are just so great looking. structually is in excellent condition, has no real or bad cracks, no rotten wood, discoloration, sun damage, or fading- or anything like that,has a very small chip at the tippy top and one on the side, both even though they are there you really dont notice them at all when ya have it hanging up.they are also Just surface and easily fixable ... morewith some wood putty if wanted.Weighs Just over a whopping 4 pounds, it is nice and thick. you will also notice it has a little wall hanger on back for easy hanging or can be removed if you are wanting to mount this onto something. top to bottom this is a really gorgeous piece. VINTAGE HAND CARVED EASTLAKE DESIGN CREST: Very nicely carved Eastlake crest. The two pieces of this mahogany crest were found two years apart. Unfortunately one small section of the bottom of the shield could not be found. The overall design of the crest is a very good example of Eastlake style carving with gold enamel inlay to highlight the carved areas. The two original finials are in place.The center panel on the shield is of a lighter color than the main body of the shield. Which is mahogany in color. This crest is a'survivor' give a new home on a wall in your home. The crest is approx. 13" tall x 12 1/2" wide x 2 1/4" deep.

Lovely Antique Eastlake Era Carved Wood Pediment GREAT Over Door Well. I am back from a monster shopping trip to the World’s Longest Yard Sale– we shop Ohio every year and then stop at some of my favorite spots in Indiana to buy from. Spent 2 whole days taking photos and still not done– I have a LOT and I’ll be listing for weeks. There’s something for everyone- primitive antiques, ephemera, military, railroad, industrial, farm finds– you name it, I have it and it’s all unique– you’ll want to keep checking, as I will list every day. Enjoy! Here is a beautiful antique late 1800s carved wood pediment for you. It's one of the simpler ones that I have seen(which is what I love about it! with 6 vertical carved wood lines that separate the 5 down facing triangle points of wood and that have a round carved notch at the top. And a raised double ... moreround piece at the very top center of the pediment that reinforces the round carving. I don't know if this was a furniture or an architectural piece, but it was once attached to something for sure- the bottom left and right are rough from where it was attached. I see no other indication of how it was attached- no mounting holes now open, no marks at the back- whatever it used to be, it appears to have only been attached at the left and right undersides. It's not a cut there either, the roughness is uneven as if they were broken off, but you can't tell that from the front, only when looking at them closely from the underside. The piece is solid wood- I won't know what kind but the patina is darkdarkdark. It measures 33" at its widest, and 11 1/2" tall. The wood on the sides is 15 1/6" thick and it is hefty, weighing just over 4 1/4 lbs. I'm concerned about the shipping to some locations, as it will have an oversize balloon rate, being over 84" packed girth plus height. If you want to check the postage, my packed box will be 36X14X6 and the weight around 8 lbs to zip 60554. It's in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, and

Description This is a beautifully detailed antique style cast iron pediment with a bird on each side and a basket with fruit in the center. It is heavy-weighs about 15 pounds and measures 30" long by 13" at center part and about 1/2" to 3/4" deep. It is in good condition with no broken pieces- some rust on front and more on back.
