Exquisitely painted. Varnished, and signed by the artist in 1955. Large Tole serving tray with a floral pattern/motif signed by C. Shannon. In excellent condition, especially considering its age. I have seen many of these trays, and this one absolutely stands out due to the detail and color used by the artist. The little blue flowers are my personal favorites. It is truly unusual. Measures approximately 17" by 13 1/2" It is in well preserved condition with still bright popping colors. There is a small dent in the middle and a spot where the paint chipped away on the dent(top part of large pink flower in the middle) signs of wear from age and use, but still a beautiful tray! Small Primitive Vintage Hand Painted Toleware Tin Box Hinged Lid Spice Box or? I had the wonderful opportunity to meet and shop with another ebayer seller from out of town recently- a real catfish moment. Because we’ve talked for years, but never met! No surprises, just all fun and did we shop until we dropped! I have lots of very cool items for you that I will be listing all week. Enjoy! This old box is somewhat of a mystery to me. It's made from a metal that a magnet stick to- and it's light and definitely has the feel and weigh of tin. But if you look closely at the inside, it has a patination that looks very much like the pattern on galvanized steel(but this doesn't have the weight of steel) Look at my inside photos and see what you think- it's a first for me. The other thing that would support whether it's galvanized ... moreis that, although the metal shows darkness form age, it does not have rust- there's rust colored spots, but I do think that is from the paint. Whatever it's made of, it's held up very very well.this one is a charmer. Measuring 3" square and 2 1/2" tall, it is the size of the spice boxes that I have seen, but there's no name etc. on it. It weighs a smidge under 1/4 lb. It has a lovely hand painted finish- the background of the body is gold, and the top and bottom are black, and they are accented with flowers on all 4 sides in shades of rust, green, burgundy and grey. The top of the lid, and the sides of the lid have thin line hand painted borders too. The hinged lid works perfectly, and the lid fits well, and stays securely in place. It really is in excellent solid and sturdy condition overall- I can't find a ding. There is wear to the finish all over in small scratches and scrapes- it's easier to see at the solid black on top. There's also some palpable small white spots on all 4 sides- see photo 4 for a good example- those aren't paint chips, those are something on TOP of the paint- it feels like paper to me- as if this was wrapped i

I researched the company and it was in production from 1920 to 1950. So this is an older pieces. It has a handy long spout which measures 8 1/2" long. It measures 10" tall and approx. 15" across the handle to spout. It does have some rusting on the inside due to age along with an assortment of nicks and a few minor light corrosion marks on the surface. Please look close at the picture for detail. From a cousin’s estate we have a large black metal tray. Hand painted toleware– most likely from the 1950’s. The front has beautiful roses in yellow. Orange, pink and light pink with gold trim around the edge. It is octagonal oblong shaped with a fancy lattice work around the edge and handles. The back has a tag that says Fine Arts Studio Hand-Painted Phila 47 PA. I'm not sure when that dates it. But I think that is the 50’s. That's when this type of stuff was more popular. Some of the paint has flaked off on the flowers in the middle. It still a pretty nice piece of nostalgia! Great for your collection! French toleware monteith style cache pot mustard yellow hand painted landscape
About 6 inch di ameter round handpainted French cachepot or planter or monteith. Lion handles, very good condition, currently used for silk flower arrangement which is not included. This is very old. Very wonderful, and I've had it a long time. The highest part of the scalloped edge is almost 5 inches. If you don' t know what a monteith was. It was a con t ainer filled with ice into which wine glasses were placed upside down to keep the bowls cold. Monteiths themse lves are very expensive and hard to find. This is the precise s tyle of a mont eith. However, you would not be able to fi t very many glasses in here. So I think it's just a st yle that was copied for a plan ter. A mont eith always has a scalloped edge. The landscape painting on the front is extr aordina ry and the black. Mustard and gold makes this piece outstanding ... morein a room. From a cousin’s estate we have a gorgeous hand-painted fruit tray metal toleware. It is signed by someone with the letter A– I cannot read the rest of it. It is oblong octagonal shaped tray with grapes. An apple, a peach, cherries and a pear on the front. It has a latticework design around the edges. Vivid colors. It is in really good shape on the painting. There is some wear to the gold trim on the edge. The back has a silver tag that says: Nashco Products New York Hand painted- Chip and alcohol resistant.
