The white striated turtle shaped beveled edge marble top is original and is in wonderful antique condition with only some light stains and scratches as common with old marble.The marble rests on a walnut conforming table apron with carved drop accents on each side and the table is raise up on four wide out-swept carved walnut legs with elegant raised carvings of fancy plumage on both sides of each leg. And pierced carvings at the knees with a substantial turned walnut pedestal at the center with a drop finial. Of the founding members of ... morethe city of Duluth, MN and very influential in the 1880's. About 40 years ago, it was found packed away in the barn of one of the famil y's properties. With some judicious repair and much cleaning and polishing. The original finish was made to gleam, again and it has been used in our Master bedroom for many years. Now. We are down-sizing and the se wonderful pieces won't fit in the 8 foot ceilings of the house we have bought. Very sad. I do not know the maker of these matching pieces. But they are made from solid, beautifully-gra ined walnut with raised panels of darker walnut burl-all in good condition. The carvings are varied-lotus flowers. Waterlilies, leaves and scrollwork. The white marble on the dresser is original and perfect. This is an imposing. Attention-getting set. The bed is wide enough to use as a Queen. As we have been doing, by fastening the headboard to the wall(virtually hanging it as you would a picture) and using a Q-size metal frame, turned around, with the footboard mounted where ordinarily the headboard would be, and not using the side rails-which however, are included. The condition is very good for it's age. You can see. In two of the pictures that there are a few pieces of burl missing and one chunk of wood missing from under the ledge of the marble on the dresser. The mirror is clear. The candle shelves are intact, the"secret drawer" is still there, a large crack on the headboard was repaired and is barely visible. All-in-all. A great find. The sideboard can be picked-up. In Duluth, Minnesota, or I have a shipping company to recommend. I will give you the information upon purchase or request. You make all the arrangements and pay for shipping, pick-up and any necessary packing. I will co-ordinate with the company for pick-up.

Gorgeous Original Vintage Renaissance Revival dresser late 1800's one-family Great-Grandma's dresser! From what we can learn. This is a Victorian Renaissance Revival substyle, informally appraised at $3,000, probably worth way more. We do know that this piece is all original, right down to its porcelain casters and ornate drawer-pulls. It hasn't been painted or stripped or refinished. Grandma got it from HER mother-in-law and kept it in her 8-bedroom house until she moved into an apartment. It then went home with my father and we had it in our home for the next generation and then some. Very loved and very seldom even used. What this dresser has seen! Grandma was a flapper(even owned a dance hall! and that likely explains the apparent damage-a possible cigarette burn on one of the little shelves. Nobody has smoked around it for ... moreabsolutely years. Actually we never even saw her smoke. We were told by the appraiser that the small shelves were once used for candles-before they had electricity. The wood is gorgeous. From the raised burl panels to the dark grained(probably walnut) sections. The marble tops are amazingly beautiful, as we've seen these in other dressers with chips and cracks, and these are HEAVY. And look at that crown on the top! Look at the hardware! We've appreciated the fact that. Although it is tall(just under 7 1/2 ft. to the top of her crown) the actual footprint of this dresser is fairly small at 20" X45" It seems to go everywhere. This piece was built with astonishing detail. It's possible that it could be actually pre 1900, but again, we don't know. Not antique dealers, just selling a family heirloom. Rare Antique Victorian Renaissance Revival Cottage vanity dresser
Up for auction is a beautiful Victorian Renaissance Revival Cottage dresser. Very old and cool. Pictures don't do it justice. Its 81 inches tall, 38 and 1/2 across and 17 and 1/4 out from the wall. Has four big drawers and two glove boxes on top, along with two candle shelves that are on either side of the mirror. The mirror glass was replaced in the 1970s but it tilts and is adjustable. Has worn spots but thats to be expected after over a hundred years. This is a beautiful old Dresser I believe from the late 1800's. It is very large. And came out of a mansion in Tampa, on what is referred to as Bayshore Blvd. The measurements are as follows: 8' 3" tall, 20" deep, and 50" long. The mirror by itself measures 18" by 47" It has two smaller drawers, then two large drawers, and then what is called a hidden drawer. when all the drawers are closed you can't even tell the bottom drawer is there. It has a beautiful lady crest at the top. The marble is in great condition. This piece is very heavy. For shipping the mirror will come off. And the marble will also come off. I can't find a name on the piece, but I would think somewhere it would have one. This piece is way too large for our house, which is the only reason for selling it. I have not listed the amount ... morefor shipping. Because whomever buys it needs to make the arrangements to have it moved.
