Top has some wear and the insert show their age, desk is in nice solid shape. Dimensions are: 4ft long by 2ft 2in deep by 2ft 6in tall. All furniture has wear from age. Detroit, Michigan which was organized in 1887 and ceased doing business around 1912. There are a couple of water stains; does need a good cleaning. Pencil trays and cubby holes, manufactured by the O&SF Company in Minneapolis, Minnesota sometime between the late 1800s/early 1900s. These solid built desks were meant to stand the test of time. The wood finish appears to be original and in good shape for its age. The cast iron base is ornate, but strong and heavy. Antique Three-Set Ink Well with Wood Base - Near Perfect
This three-piece set of ink wells is set on a wood base with pencil/pen holders. The ink wells are beautiful heavy square glass and deep well. Two are the same size and one smaller ink well sits in the middle of the base. The bottom has four small peg-like legs. It is in near perfect condition with very little age showing. I have no idea how old this piece is. It was part of my Mom's vast antique collection, purchased in New England. The large ink wells measure 2 1/2" wide, 2 1/2" tall, the well itself is aprox. 1 3/4" deep. It has an interesting square design that is elevated around the top of the wells- see last photo. The small ink well is aprox. 1 3/4" wide and 1 1/2"tall and well is aprox. 1 1/4" deep.
