Huge and amazing old column-capital off an 1800's building in Crown Point Indiana. These don't come around very often. And it's very rare to find these in this size and condition. They are a wonderful way to add architectural interest to a room. Have seen them made into tables, used as planters or just set it on top of an old armoire or bookcase. Adds so much to your decor. Wow! This is such a beautiful brass french style pediment! I was told it was salvaged from a late 1800's fireplace screen or cover? It has the lovely crest in the center that adds such an elegant french look! I've shown several ways it can be brought in to your decor. But you will have fun coming up with your own ideas! I think it would be amazing placed on the woodwork over the door, but we are currently selling our home so no new holes. Antique Victorian Walnut Carved Pediment Salvaged Piece NICE
This is a very attractive antique Victorian era pediment salvaged piece. It has such a rich patina! I believe it is made of walnut. However could be mahogany(sorry don't know woods very well) It is heavy and solid. It has been beautifully carved with leaves and walnuts. It measures 14" long, 5 5/8" wide and 7 1/4" deep. It looks like it was a corbel but could have a lot of uses.It is in excellent condition except for a thin crack on one side as pictured. The wood appears to be oak but I'm not positive. It still has that wonderful old patina to the wood. It measures approximately 23" long x about 11 1/2" high and the thickest part of the wood is about 2" at each end with the flowers) The wood is split down the middle of the wreath, there are some chips(or missing) to the leaves that stick out on the sides, and there is part of the ribbon missing above the wreath. It's an original door pediment or head casing trim and is roughly 100 years old. It has several layers of peeling paint over what appears to be the original shellac finish. I removed much of the curling. Loose paint. It could be stripped and refinished or left as is! It would look great with the addition of a shelf and perhaps some metal coat/hat hooks or wooden pegs on the flat. Vertical surface area of the piece. It would also make a fine head or topper piece for a mirror or recessed niche or it could be used as intended above a door or window! The possibilities are endless! I'm thrilled for the piece that I have, though- it is just so pretty in shape and design, and it looks just as good whether it's up like I have in photo 1 or up like I have it in my 23rd photo. It has a very old(probably multiple layers) finish ... moreof black paint, and you can see it's chippy, shabby and worn in many spots- and in most of those spots down to the iron underneath- and you can see a layer of dark surface rust where the metal is exposed. The rust spots are very old, surface only with no thick spots holes, etc. This piece is totally structurally sound and weighs a whopping 6 3/4 lbs. I'm showing you both front and back(if there is a difference, it seems the same on both sides to me as far as design) as well as both sides and top and bottom in my photos. On one short end and its sides(don't know if it's top or bottom- it's the top in most of my photos except 23) you can see where it looks like it was connected to a larger piece- see photos 11 and 16-17 for the side view of where it looks like it was separated, and photos 18-19 of that top where it looks like it was connected and separated. I cannot tell if it was cut or broken from its larger piece, as rough, not flat, but there's no jagged or sharp edges- see my photos. Antique 19c. Pediment Architectural Crown Walnut Wood Crest Salvage Cottage Chic
For auction. A 19th-century solid walnut pediment with deeply carved motif. It measures 19 1/2" across the base and about 9 1/2" wide(5 1/4" wide at center. The width is 3" across the top and 1" at the sides. This architectural salvage piece is covered with classical acanthus scrolls and a flower in the center. The wood finish does show lots of wear and there is an old repair on the leaf to the right of the flower, shown best in photo 3. There are two pegs for mounting it, both of which can be removed if desired. The back has a chip that looks like a wood knot broken off: it does not show from the front. Thanks for looking.

2 Antique Wood Pediments Furniture Pieces? Could Use For Shelf Brackets WOW- went to my favorite flea market this weekend and found some awesome treasures for you- I’ll be listing all week. So keep checking! I'm not quite sure what these two beautiful pieces came from. But I took one look, and I saw some beautiful make do shelf brackets- don't you agree? Each one is made of solid wood, and I do believe that it is oak, although the patina is so dark, check out and see what you think. They are exact matches in size and style- and if you decide to use them as shelf brackets, each would sit with the design side out as I have in photo 4. They both have a scrolly raised design on the outside that is very art nouveau to me, and they measures each 4 1/4" wide by 3/4" thick at the top/wide end, 2 1/2" by 3/4" thick at the ... moreshort end/bottom, and 5 7/8" tall. Each one weighs 1/2 lb. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with a fair amount of wear in scratches, scrapes, nicks, dings and cracks that do not move, in addition to general finish wear. Both have a hole on the long back end(the 5 7/8" side) that goes all the way through, but no hole on the top, so you would need to create one to affix to your shelf. The finish shows alligatoring from age, and the patina is dark and rich- please supersize and look at all. The decorated side, the short bottom, and the front side that follows the curve of the pieces are finished the same, while the opposite side of the decorated side, the flat back side and the 4 1/4" long top side are stained, but don't appear to be varnished. I'm showing in photos 17& 18 that there's a 1" by 1/4" chip/surface crack at the long top flat side of one of them- it's close to the screw hole that's there, and there's no movement by it at all- and I pressed pretty hard, so it is secure. I think they are two lovely old pieces, that deserve another chance at life. To a good home only. Customer satisfaction

STUNNING Antique 1800s Hand Carved Wood Pediment Double Koi Fish WOW- went to my favorite flea market this weekend and found some awesome treasures for you- I’ll be listing all week. So keep checking! Well. If there was ever a listing where I just wanted to say nothing, and let my photos say it all, this would be the one. But I'm guessing you might want at least a little more details: so here goes. This is probably one of the most drop-dead-gorgeous antique pediment pieces I have sold. It literally stopped me in my tracks. Now, I don't know if these came off of a piece of furniture, or an architectural piece, but it has a 1" diameter hole in the center that I'm showing in photo 5, that goes all the way through, and I'm assuming that has something to do with what it once was, or how it was mounted. The piece is hand carved ... moreinto the imat of two Koi fish facing away from each other. On either end, in front of the Kois' mouths are grapes and leaves also hand carved. It weighs 6 1/4 lbs, and it is 21 1/4" long, 5 1/4" highest and 3 5/8" deepest. The back is flat, not carved, and the underside allows the piece to stand securely, upright and straight, as in my photos. It is in excellent solid and sturdy condition. The patina is very very dark from age. I'm not 100% certain, but I THINK the wood may be oak- that's from looking at the backside, but it's dark and hard to see the grain, so please supersize and see what you think. The finish shows wear, and lots of alligatoring in certain spots, like I'm showing in photo 8. There's a couple of small nicks- on that I'm showing in photo 6- it's on a scale on the right fish and it looks newer as it's lighter. It's very shallow- at first, I thought it was just finish wear, but it's a shallow nick that measures 1/8" long. I'm showing another shallow chip that is on the underside of the piece in photo 8- on the end of the underside. It is either really old, or it may be original to the carving

~ GREAT ANTIQUE CARVED PEDIMENT ~ 1/4 SAWN OAK 79 INCH ~ ARCHITECTURAL SALVAGE ~
Description This is a nice piece that was salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian Home. It was originally part of a built in armoire. It is made of 1/4 sawn oak and is painted. It has crown molding and a small shelf along the top. There are great applied carvings at the center of the breast and at the ends. Overall it measures 79 inches long by 13 tall and is 3.25 inches deep at the top. Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches and dings as it is antique. It could use a good cleaning. There is a small notch at the left end of the shelf. There is a small molding missing from the right side. Please look at the pictures carefully. Ref: 41454 Shipping. Antique. Cast iron, doube sided, architectural decor set of 2 pieces by J.G. BRAUN COMPANY. https:archive.org/details/WroughtIronOrnaments From the above archive it appears they were created in the 1920's. Prior to this catalog that was published in 1928. The catalog shows this design and each piece is imprinted with the name of the company. They can be turned either way as the design is on both sides. They have been cut off at some point from whatever structure it was attached to and there the bare metal shows. Please see photos. Nice design of a rose and climbing leaves. Antique Architectural Salvage Pediment Hand Carved and Inlaid Floral Design
Description: Here is a gorgeous pediment that came from the estate of a well-to-do Hartford CT woman who loved to collect beautiful items. This item came from an upstairs storage closet with other antiques and architectural elements that the woman had bought in 1983 when she was planning on building a summer house on Long Island Sound. The invoice showed that she paid $450 for it over 30 years ago. Supposedly it had been carved and inlaid by a well known Connecticut carver but her niece could not remember who for sure. It appears to be carved from two layers of solid mahogany and then two pieces at either end appear to have been nicely inlaid with boxwood in a floral pattern. The carvings are deep and wonderfully done and you can even still see the chisel marks on the top edge which would not have been seen. The color and glow of the patina is just first rate as you can tell from looking at my photos. But held with the bracket. it can sit atop itself but can swing all the way down also. see all photos. each piece is a broken piece of the garden gate. can imagine the garden. must have been spectactular. there are four smaller pieces and two larger ones. the small ones measure between 19" and 13" tall. and just about 10 1/2" wide. the tallest one measures a tall 31" tall. just about 10 1/2" wide. the second tallest one is 24" tall. same width. the range in weight from 14 pounds to 6 pounds. they are just spectacular and can be used in so many ways. g

ANTIQUE PAINTED CAROUSEL PANEL ARCHITECTURAL FLORAL PAINTING
This amazing architectural piece is a panel from an antique carousel.Featuring tons of flowers and a lovely lady in a pink gown. It has graced my porch for a decade and I have no idea how many decades before that it graced an old time Merry-Go-Round. I would guess this is from the turn of the century give or take 20 years. I have never attempted to clean this but it could use it. There is a great deal of craqueleure but that is to be expected from age and the elements. It has some damage to the upper right corner as shown. The piece is very heavy and has 2 strong metal brackets that attached it to the carousel as well as screw eyes with wire to hang it on the wall with. It is an eye catching work of art from a bygone era and surely one of a kind. We are moving and unfortunately have no place for it at our new house. Up for auction this week is this BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE ART DECO BUILDING FACADE TILE. BRICK or BLOCK in a ROSEVILLE-STYLE FLOWERED DECORATION. I found this 10 1/2" by 8" by 4" thick tile buried in an over-grown garden of an estate sale on Long Island. One side is marked"ATLANTIC" and the other has various numbers on it- 2640" what appears to be"AX/ and"281" The block has never actually been installed, as there are no mortar remnants around the edges, but the face has a few dings and some paint splatter on it.
