Round figured knobs appear to be original. Drawers have hand-cut lap dovetails and cockbeading of the type brought into use starting in the 1770s. Overall condition is excellent. There is a chip approximately 1" long from the veneer along the front right edge. Which no doubt can be easily repaired by a professional. Overall condition of the veneer is excellent, but there is some buckling on the left side of the piece, consistent with its age. antique empire flame mahogany vanity dresser carved!!!!
layaway available on any of my listings should anyone have an interest in that. up for auction is the nicest empire vanity i have seen in all the years i have been messing with antiques. i bought this not long ago and have it in my dining room as there is no where else to put it in my 20 room house. i have another one in a bedroom upstairs that i will list shortly. hopefully it will sell and not this one as i want to actually keep this one. anyway. I have seen a dozen or so of these, but none this nice. it is serpentine, heavily carved mirror harp, pedestal, feet and wings, along with carved roping surrounding the vanity top. the mirror shows some fog, which does not bother me, i can have that corrected for about 100.00 should someone want that accomplished. it is free from damage or repairs as far as i can ascertain. i think the knobs on ... morethe two serpentine drawers are original as well. this is a wonderful empire piece made around 1860 or so i think out of the most wonderful flame mahogany as you will find. the piece has wonderful patina and is gorgeous. the pictures do not do it justice. it stands 49.5 to the top of the mirror, it is about 30 inches to the vanity top and 22 inches deep at the widest point of the serpentine top. it is 44 inches wide at the back of the top and 38 inches wide at the front of the top. shipping will be the buyers responsibility. you may arrange a carrier, or i will do it for you, or you may pick it up at my home. if the carrier requires a crate, i will build it for the cost of the material and will not charge any labor. the material will cost about 50.00 for the crate, if required. i need to sell one of these vanities, don't have room for both. i am starting this at probably all it is worth, but if you want the best, this is for you! i bought it because it was the nicest one i have seen in years and years. i doubt you can find another one like it, and if so, it will be expensive. i will be glad to answer any questions or supply other pictures upon request. good luck

Antique Victorian Walnut Drop Well Dresser w/ Marble Tops Ornate Hand Carving
We are pleased to offer to the market this beautiful antique drop well dresser. Constructed from walnut. This piece is ornately carved. The piece stands 91.5" high at the center of the mirror. The base is 44.5" wide at the bottom and 44" wide at the top of the drawers. It has an overall depth of 18 1/8" and the height of the center well is 16 5/8" The hardware on this has been replaced but still matches quite well. The pulls all have lion faces on them. The marble slabs that sit on the top of the drawers have a space that is approximately 1/2 an inch on each side where the wood shows. I am unsure as to whether these pieces were replaced or not. The slab of marble that sits on top of the well fits snugly and appears to be original to the piece. There are"wings" that attach on each side of the mirror that ... morehave attached candle stands on the front. These also have ornate carving on them. Spectacular"Highly Figured Solid Maple" Chest of Drawers Circa 1895 I fully restored this lovely piece.It features incredible"highly figured" solid maple with Birdseye maple veneers on the oxbow top drawer fronts. All of the brass hardware. Including the key hole covers are original.As you can see the hardware is the icing on this cake! The original drawer locks are all in place and in excellent working order using the beautiful key I had made. The top of the dresser has incredible patina and some of the finest grain figuring you will see.The top is first class all the way. All drawers were totally rebuilt and slide like silk. The drawers feature the highly sought after dovetail joinery. I restored the finish all by hand using a custom rich stain to achieve the highlighted rich burgundy followed by many. Many coats of ... morehand rubbed varnish.When you rub your hands over the finish you will feel the superb depth and notice the beauty of the amazing maple grains. This is a"bonnet top" dresser meaning the top two drawers protrude and overhand the lower level drawers. The sides have great architectural design with the paneled construction. Like any fine antique. This piece has minor imperfections and character marks in the wood. The posts which hold the drawer handle in place are brass plated steel, some of the plating has worn off after 135 plus years. The photos show casters in the legs. They will not be included.I find they tend to split the legs.There is a knot depression on the upper left side(see photo) I think it adds character and figuring just like the top of the dresser. An American made classic. beautiful solid cherry wood chest of drawers.this dates from Circa 1875 This piece dates from the Colonial Revival period. I restore antique and make custom furniture. I rescued this gorgeous chest. It was on it's way to a landfill, buried beneath a dark brown paint.I was intirgued by it's design, but I fell in love with this piece when I saw the stunning wood grains hidden under the brown paint. The wood is solid cherry with wonderful, rich grains and textures. Some parts of this chest may be red birch or maple.The cherry wood is both sapwood and heartwood. This accounts for the varied colors and grain patterns, in this beautiful chest The side panels are cherry veneered plywood.I love the blackened grain highlights on the side panels. The wood has many beauty marks including a small age related crack(non-structural) ... morein the top left edge(see photo) I think it adds great charm to the piece. Just like the nails across the top drawer where someone added a piece of wood to the top edge of the drawer(see photo) I think the top drawer edge looks awesome with the exposed nails and the wonderful colors.The"eye brow" shaped drawer pulls are all original. You won't find more beautiful and unique solid cherry wood pulls, the grain patterns are superb. I restored this chest from top to bottom. Including all of the drawers being taken fully apart and restored. I added a wood reinforcement strip in the back of one drawer. the drawers feature dovetail joinery on the front corners with box joinery on the rear corners.I custom added the trim(solid maple) on the bottom edge of the side panels I restored the entire finish by hand scraping, followed by many, many coats of hand rubbed varnish.The top drawer has a lock,without a key.This lovely chest has hard earned beauty marks such as nicks, dings etc, consistent with any fine antique. Welcome to our ebay sales! ITEM DESCRIPTION: For your consideration is an Art Nouveau shaving stand with mirror. Circa 1880. The mirror is housed in a large solid maple frame with a curly maple base. The compartment on the base has a hinged lid and is lined with brown felt. The only veneer on the shaving stand is the 2" curved strip around the front of the compartment. Shaving stand has the original brass latches, as shown in the pictures below. Exceptional piece! SIZE: Shaving stand is 32-3/8" wide at the base and 27-1/2" tall. It is 26" wide to the outer edges of the harp and the mirror itself is 21-1/2" x 18-1/4" The base is 8" deep and 3" high. CONDITION: There are a couple very minor gliltches. Antique Victorian Dresser/Vanity/Toothbrush Box Rose Finial
Up for auction is this stunning antique wash stand vanity set box for a toothbrush. This is heavy china unglazed on the bottom. Lid rim and bass top. The decoration is a beautiful robin’s egg blue. Then garlands of flowers around the lid and base bowl. The only mark on the piece is the embossed number“119” The lid is pierced and has a gilded rose finial. The inside of the bowl has brackets to hold the brush and allow drying. The box is 8 3/8” long. 3 ¾” wide, and 3 ¾” tall to the top of the lid finial. There is a small gap in the unglazed rim on the underside(this is not a crack. Does not go through, but is shrinkage from when this was made common in iron stone) The piece is in excellent vintage condition with no nicks. Chips or cracks. ebay allows 12 pictures. for this piece that is not nearly enough to do a decent job in describing and showing it. at any rate. Here is a wonderful antique serpentine front dresser most likely by mitchell and rammelsburg. if not by them, someone equally as gifted in furniture making. the dresser is mahogany and stands 94.5 inches tall on its original porcelain casters. it is 49 inches wide and 24 inches deep. it has 4 drawers. the one at the bottom does not appear to be a drawer. it was crafted to be a hidden drawer. there are no pulls on it and it is carved differently to appear as the bottom splash board of the dresser. the dresser is quite heavy, the drawers are well made with the front serpentine boards being about 1.25 inches thick. notice the joints of the drawers, all hand cut dovetails which date the piece to circa 1870-1880. it has ... morea large mirror harp as you can see that is pierced carved and has candle stands, finials, crests, and other nice details that make this a very desirable dresser. the mirror is arch shaped and shows some smokiness and a little silver loss. the mirror is actually in better condition than most. i do not know if the mirror is original but the backing appears to be. at the base of the mirror harp on each side is a nice glove box with a drawer that is hand carved dovetails. i forgot to get pictures of these with the drawers open, nor did i show the four drawers of the dresser open as i ran out of picture spaces allowed by ebay. the drawers all open with ease and each drawer is designed for its specific space. i have a book that is dated 1991 that lists a dresser like this but not as nice for 2250.00. it has great form and beauty, the front of the dresser corners are especially nice. the marble is original and is in great condition for its age. any questions please ask and if you want more pictures i have several and would be glad to supply them, again just ask for what you want. the dresser may be picked up at my home or shipped at buyer's expense. i know the pictures are bad, i

Here is a miniature dresser that because of the pin cushion and rods we assume is a sewing box of some sort. Not doll furniture. It measures a little under 10" tall, 8" wide, 4 1/2" deep. There are some spots missing the rods, and one of the hinges is loose because it is missing the lower part of the hinge. The mirror glass is not in great shape. No missing porcelain knobs. Antique Vintage Large Vanity Dressing Tabletop Shaving Wooden Swivel Mirror
Antique Victorian style wooden swivel mirror for a tabletop vanity or dresser. Mirror may have also been used for shaving. The frame and base are wood. I am not sure what type of wood it is. But if I had to guess I would say Mahogany, but please determine for yourself. Approximate measurements are 21 1/2" tall, 18 1/2" wide at the base and 6 1/2" deep(at the base) The mirror appears to be original and has that antique mirror patina with small black specking throughout. This is the perfect mirror if you are looking for something that shows its age, character and patina. Condition of the glass is good and it has a beveled edge all the way around(set in about 1" there is some chipping of the glass up underneath the top of the wood frame, difficult to see unless you really looking(please see last photo) Condition of the wood ... moreis good with some wear, patina and cracking to the finish in spots. This piece an amazing antique look that you can only get with with age and time. There may have been some water damage to the back of the piece at some point but it really only adds the character of the piece. Item is in all over good condition but not perfect. Antique 1800's Serpentine Dresser Family Heirloom w/ Beveled Mirror OHIO PICK UP
This dresser is a 1800's Serpentine Dresser and was my husband’s Great Grandmother’s. His Great Grandma died in 1978 at 99 years old. As far as he knows its was originally bought by her family and has been passed down from generation to generation. The mirror has a beveled edge and is in good condition. No cracks. We do not know what kind of wood this is. In the light it looks like oak. And in other light it appears darker. You be the judge. All the drawer pulls are attached and believed to be original. There are pictures of the edge of the drawers to show how they were put together with a tooth pattern. There are rolling casters on the bottom of the legs. Also believed to be original.
