Up for sale is a Vintage Portable Prayer/ Communion/ Last Rites/ Chapel Wood Box. This lovely dovetail construction box features a dark stain to the wood and a brass Cross on the lid of the box. The inside of the box is lined with a purple fabric that has faded with age. Inside of the box is a glass bottle marked Holy Water. A small paper packet with an absorbent cotton pad, 2 small engraved metal dishes, a small metal cup, and two metal candle holders that are attached to the box. The box has one long scratch across the lid and various smaller nicks across the rest of the surface. The glass bottle is empty. There would have been a Cross and two candles with this kit at one time that are no longer present. The brass cross on the lid has small scratches and patches of discoloration. I do not know the age. But I have seen others advertised as being from the 1920's. The wood box measures 13" X 7" and 3" deep. And is of dovetail joint construction. The latch is solid and fully functional. It has light scratches here abd there, but very clean. The only structural problem is A CRACK ON THE BACK SIDE BELOW THE HINDGE and A small section where the top is unglued from the side. BOTH VISIBLE IN PHOTO#5, The gold color metal cross is held firmly in place with tiny ... morebrads. The bottle has NO chips. NO cracks, NO stains; It has a shaker top(silver in color) that twists to open the shaker opening. Cork is good. Embossed with"HOLY WATER" on one side, a CROSS on the other. The small chalice cup appears to be aluminum. As are the two metal candle holders(vintage used candles included) The TWO plates are engraved with"I H S" And are VERY bright and shiny with NO dents, NO bends. Probably plated over unknown base metal. Crucifix snaps into holder in lid. With Jesus very shiny, again probably plated over pot metal? The wood cross is blackened oak. The inside purple(silk? material is nice and bright with NO rips. NO stains. The fancy spoon is marked"STANDARD" on the back. The envelope contains some clean cotton. But there is a rip in the envelope. Please examine and enlarge the photos to see the GREAT condition EXCELLENT throughout except for that crack on back of wood box! Antique Wood Church Alms Offering Tithe Box, Wooden, with a Skeleton Key
This is an early church alms box. If I had to guess, maybe early-mid 1800's. This box has been well-used, and by the looks of it it's been broken and repaired many years ago. The crack down the front has been repaired from the inside, and the repair looks as old as the box. As you can see, one of the little brass hinges is missing. The lock mechanism works great with the old skeleton key. Just a neat little gem from over 100 years ago. This would make a wonderful conversation piece, a gift for a Pastor/Priest/Reverend, a savings box, or even a one-of-a-kind bird house. You can tell the wood is beautiful and just waiting to be refinished. Dimensions: 11" Tall. 7" Wide, 5" Deep.

This is an older cedar wood box that has a hinged lid. It is a little over 1 3/4" tall and is about 5 3/8" x a little over 3 1/2" It does read New Testament on the top and reads Bedford. Pa on the one end. It comes with a hard cover New Testament that is about 4 3/8" x about 2 7/8" with 580 numbered pages. I do not see a date printed but the very first blank page someone wrote in pen: To(name) Sept 1963- From The Rev. name) and Family. At page 3 and page 34 it will lay open but the pages are fine. I did not see any loose pages, written on, torn or creased pages when I flipped through it and the cover is fine. The box looks on the older side but it is in overall excellent condition. Found in a big box of miscellaneous items I bought this summer at an estate sale here in Michigan. No room for it though. So it's priced to sell so someone can appreciate this nice item. I think it's cedar wood. But not certain. Age and original origin unknown. Says: North Conway New Hampshire on the front face. Maybe made there? Picture is of a Guardian Angel overlooking two young children. Box measures: 7.75" by 6" by 3" inches. Solid. Nice box. Hinges work well. No major damage I can see or feel. Has some common handling scratches, nicks, and dings here and there though(been used) See the pictures. Also has some old retail sticker on the bottom as well. Second hand store? Memorial Edition Illustrated Holy Bible in Cedar Wood Box, 1976, Union Made
Up for sale is a Memorial Edition Illustrated Holy Bible in Cedar Wood Box. This Decorative set features an Illustrated Holy Bible that is bound in White Leather with Gold Lettering. Edges, and Trim and a Cedar Wood hinged box with an image of Jesus on the inside of the lid. This Set was made in 1976, in the USA by Union Carpenters and Printers. The bible has been gently used with very little wear. The front cover has some brown stains along the gold accents, possibly bleeding from the image on the lid. The image on the lid of the box has two patches of damage. The box has some scratches and nicks and one small crack on the lower back. The box measures 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 x 2 3/4 and the Bible measures 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 2.

Antique Vintage Sick Call Last Rites Death Silver Wood Box with Crucifix & more
This is a vintage unrestored wood cabinet priest sick call or last rites box with all of the components. Many of which are silver plated. The base of the cross and the cup are stamped with an anchor logo and states“Anchor Silver Plate Co. Special Metal, Quadruple Plate” From a search on the internet for Anchor Silver Plate Co. I found that this company was in business from 1898-1905. The cabinet, two plates, spoon, brush, and holy water bottle have no manufacturer marks. See notes below regarding defects; it appears that this sick-call box/last-rites box was used often. This vintage religious kit can make for a lovely display and conversation piece once it is restored. The cabinet is 14.5” high by 12” wide by 6.75” deep. The crucifix on the candle base is 12.75” high. The two plates are almost 5” in diameter. The bottle is 3.5” high, the ... morespoon is 6” long, the cup is 2.75” diameter, and the brush handle is nearly 2” long. The wood cabinet will need to be refinished for original appearance. Or left as is for an antique appearance. The wood appears to be an oak. There are two small holes side by side on the right door that were probably used for a handle or sash to secure the door during travel. The base of the cabinet is bowed/warped downward at the front about 3/16 of an inch. All four hinges are present. But four of the small nails are missing on the bottom left hinge, and one of the small nails is missing on the top left hinge. The“IHS” strap on the inside of the right door is ripped in half. The one on the left door is still in tack. But could probably rip too if not careful. Each of the pockets on the inside of both doors have a tear in the purple fabric. Nearly all of the silver plated items will need to be replated if you wish to have the original luster of silver. The holy water bottle has salt water deposits inside that could probably be soaked off with vinegar. The metal screw cap does come off. But it has a small dent on the top corner. The brush bristles have come out of the silver brush handle. N

Mid-Century Olive Wood Pencil Box Made by London Jewish Society- Jerusalem Up for auction is a beautiful mid-century olive wood pencil/ pen box made in Jerusalem in the Holy Land/ Israel/ Palestine and carved in the center lid with the Jerusalem Cross. Also called the Crusader's Cross- a large cross inside of which are four smaller crosses. On either side of the crosses is the word Jerusalem. In English on one side, and in Hebrew( Yerushalayim) on the other side. This box. And other olive wood boxes etched in the same way, were made by the London Jewish Society, an evangelistic organization founded in the early 19th century with the purpose of promoting Christianity among the Jewish people. This box is in overall very good used condition. Offered here a Memorial Edition Holy Bible given in Sympathy by the Smith Steel Workers Union& AFL-CIO. This beautiful Bible was given to the family in a Cedar Wood Box. The Decorative set features an concordance Holy Bible that is bound in White Leather with Gold Lettering and Easter lilies in the lower right corner. It has a zippered closure. With a cross zipper.
