Rudolstadt porcelain vase or decanter 80-90 years old RW with crown mark
Up for auction is one Rudolstadt porcelain vase or decanter which is estimated to be around 80-90 years old. This item is very old and appears that it is probably missing a stopper. Item is in very good condition considering its age with the following exception: It appears there is a small crack on the spout with goes around the width of the spout. May have been glued. It is not very noticeable and you have to look hard to tell. There is also normal wear around the spout. Pitcher is approximately 9.5 inches tall and 6.5 inches wide at widest point. Antique Gilted Large Toby Pitcher / Jug - Red Clay
This antique Toby Pitcher is RARE! He has a unique facial character and quality. This pitcher seems to be made from a red slip clay and coated with a gold paint and glaze. There is generous crazing to both the inside and the outside of the pitcher. There are places where the gilting has worn and is visible in the photos. There are not any makers marks. But my best guess it was made in England. There are at least 2 chips in the glaze at the bottom(one at the bottom and another on the bottom of his foot) Structurally, I do not find any chips, no structural cracks, no breaks or repairs. The pitcher/ jug measures 8.1" tall and approx. 7" wide. The item weighs 2.1 lbs. You may never find another one like this! circa 1840 -- Staffordshire Pottery -- blue transferware -- pitcher
This piece is just back from the Antiques Roadshow! Richmond. Virginia(August 17, 2013) was the final city on Season 18's"hunt for America's hidden treasures! The pitcher is approximately 8 9/16" tall. 10 7/16" wide(from pour spout to handle arc) and 7 ¼" deep(width of base bulge from front to back) It weighs approximately 36 ounces(or 2 pounds and 4 ounces) and is in very good condition. There is 1 flake/absence of color(¼" long) on the bulge of the pitcher when the handle is turned to the right. There are 4 chips on the handle visible when it is turned to the left: 2 are under glaze so are manufacturing flaws: 1/8" and 3/16" in sizes) and 2 are damage(3/8" and 3/16" in sizes) Please note there is crazing present. For those less familiar, crazing is a network of fine lines or ... morecracks that can develop on a fired glazed surface. It happens when a glaze is under tension. A craze pattern can develop immediately after removal from the kiln or years later from storage of an item in an extremely cold environment like an"ice box" early refrigerators) As a result of the crazing, there are some stains on the interior bottom and sides of the pitcher. What happens over time is the fat, like that found in milk, can work its way into the fine cracks. Eventually it will discolor/turn dark. For those interested. Discolorations can be removed by soaking a piece in a 40% hydrogen peroxide solution as found at beauty supply stores(used to help create those lovely blond highlights we love! I chose not to do this with this particular piece because the bottom is not visible when displayed in my hutch. Unfortunately. Antique English Pearlware Ceramic enamel decorated pottery milk jug, c1800-1820
Antique English Pearlware Ceramic Polychrome overglaze enamel decorated pottery milk jug with an Oriental lady walking in a garden. On one side, and foliate design on the other. The decoration is in vibrant pink, green, blue and iron red. The pitcher has a sparrow spout and a simple looped handle both are enamel decorated, the handle with an iron red foliate design. The foot is rimmed in blue. c1800-1820. There are no factory or maker's marks but this milk jug is most likely from the Leeds Pottery. CONDITION: Minor glaze wear. No restoration. Measurements: 5 1/2" tall and 5" wide. A little background on Pearlware Josiah Wedgwood has traditionally been given the credit for"creating" what he referred to as"pearl ware. This ware was essentially the same ceramic composition as creamware with the added component of ... morea small quantiry of cobalt. The addition of the cobalt. Gave the pottery a bluish cast to the glaze. Pearlware was used as the base for Prattware, Spatter and Spongeware, Luster, and many transfer-printed wares. Because in some cases, the quantity of cobalt is truly slight, it can be difficult to determine whether or not the piece is pearlware. If you are ever faced with this situation, just turn the piece over and look for the blue pooling; identifiying the cobalt blue glaze over the whitish body is regarded as the single most important diagnostic feature. Hello everyone, For your consideration is this gorgeous Victoria Carlsbad porcelain ewer. Our research indicates this was made around 1899. The company was founded in 1883 by Lazarus and Rosenfeld. Ltd. In 1885, the company was sold to Frantz Schmidt. This is a fantastic piece of Austrain porcelain. It has a delicate gold gilding and the side has a illustration of a young couple. The bottom is clearly marked but has a second mark that is blurred. It may contain the numbers 90 which may be associated with the date or edition number. Isn't this pitcher a beauty? I don't know the maker of this piece but Mary Gregory painted it because she signs all of her work. Westmoreland use to have her paint for them on just glassware but she started painting a lot of other things as well. This pitcher is perfect. The gold around the rim and all the way down the back of the wide handle. It is 5.5 inches tall and from spout to handle it is 5.75 inches wide. It is very pretty.

I don't know anything about Ironstone. Except It's pretty and collectible. I inherited this piece from an aunt and I don't collect it. The pictures show the only markings. The condition is great, with no chips or cracks, some crazing but not that much at all, the gold stripes are really pretty. Up for auction is a very old pitcher and 6 mugs set. all have a Monk Portrait on them stamp on the bottom says, IOGA WARWICK CHINA WARWICK over the swords and 4 have A-1 in red. high glaze both inside and out. the pitcher is 10-1/2" high and the mugs are 3" high. two of the mugs are in bad condition they have repairs, done badly, the other four are in VG condition, the portraits are clear, all have specks of paint loss and crazing. one has a tiny chip by the rim. the pitcher is in wonderful condition, portrait is clear, NO chips, cracks, but there are specks of loss paint and crazing. it's a really old set, extremely collectable.

An online expert has indicated that the Japan only marking indicates the item may have been made prior to or around 1925. That is the reason this item is listed in the"antique" section. Pretty pink and yellow roses are the main character in the misc. beautiful flowers painted on these items. Gold trim on the plate and pitcher edges. A nice find for collectors. As you can see it is in good condition for a 100 year old pitcher. There is one chip under the spout. Nice discoloration. rustic! It has so much character. It weighs about 2.5 lbs. Nice weight, like stoneware. 9" tall& about 6" wide The Burford Brothers Pottery(founded in East Liverpool Ohio by Oliver, Robert and George W. produced floor and wall tiles in 1879. By 1887, they changed their focus to produce ironstone and c.c. ware(short for cream colored ware, or common clay ware) They shipped all over the United States, but mainly to the west and northwest. Some backstamps refer to merely'B.B. or'Burfords' In 1904, the brothers went out of business, selling their pottery to the Standard Pottery Company. Continental Kilns Pottery Vintage 64oz Big Magnolia Pitcher Green Arbor 1953
The manufacturer of this pottery made this from 1944-1953 so this beautiful pitcher is at least 60 years old. It is 6" high and 8" from spout to handle and holds around 64 fluid ounces. This is a great collectable display piece but also functional. The floral design is magnolias on both sides of this pitcher and the pattern is called"Green Arbor" The bottom reads CONTINENTAL KILNS HAND PAINTED and the floral/leafy areas are slightly 3D. ?19th Century Transferware Semi-Porcelain England Pitcher
19th century Semi-Porcelain Transferware pitcher in excellent condition. There are no chips. Cracks, crazing, etc. on the piece which measures 7" tall. It has a pattern of soft grey=green flowers, trailing foliage and gold accents along the top outer edge, the sides and the handle. The handle is firmly in place and as no damage. The inside is very clean. The word ENGLAND on the bottom in the same green as the decoration. Please contact me if you need further infomation.
