Co Rochester. N.Y. USA 4048” followed by a circle with a V inside the circle. The goblets are not marked on the bottom but have the same design as the pitcher. The rim of the pitcher and the rim of the goblets have an added“braid” trim. An elegant etched design has been added to the body of the pitcher and goblets. The water pitcher measures approximately 7 ¾ inches tall(at the tallest point) and 7 ¾ inches wide(at the widest point(including the handle) The goblets have a diameter of 3 3/8 inches and stand 4 inches tall. Some of the goblets are slightly out of round—I believe due to manufacturing process. I do not polish any silver or silver plate and this set is very tarnished. The pitcher has 2 scratches towards the bottom(please see photo) and a small ding. The set has age related surface scratches and scuffs and some wear on the silver plate. There are several deeper scratches and wear on the inside bottom of the pitcher but overall the condition of this set is nice. It is a very sturdy set and will be equally distinctive for outdoor entertaining or for dressing up your elegant dinnerware. Insurance will be added to the cost of this sale. Please look at the pictures closely for item condition as pictures are an important part of the item description and there is no return. The pitcher has wonderful maganese sponging around the neck and white slip bands overlaying the incised lines also around the neck. Fresh from a local estate. Here is a lot of 4 vintage or antique hand decorated English lustre pitchers. Each shows a different hue of lustre: gold, pink, purple, and brown. The largest pitcher measures approximately 6" across by 5" tall. The two middle sized pitchers are about 2 3/4" tall and the smallest one is about 2 1/2" tall. Approximately 8” x 4” From my great-grandmother’s house in Boston. Massachusetts where I grew up, this lovely piece now needs another home. I have seen it in a glass display cabinet ever since I was little, and I am now 60 years old! It was lovingly kept out of the light and moisture. The handle must have been repaired a long. Long time ago, because I had never noticed the two small cracks until now. They actually blend in with the gold painted decoration. The handle is strong and functional. The lid is attached with original rivets and the hinge is tight and straight. It has not been cleaned or polished in over 60 years. Only dusted! I am not sure of the metal. ... moreBut it is very similar to old pewter. There is one small chip on the base that is barely noticeable. It also fits in with the decoration. Very interesting looking antique pottery pitcher with a beautiful Fleur-de-Lis pattern. Pretty glaze is a deep gray green. Almost black, with white raised design. I think it is probably English or French, possibly majolica but I'm not sure. No maker's mark and I am guessing at the age-possibly late 1880-1920 but could be later. Chip on bottom, where it doesn't show, 2-3 teeny chips that do show, please see photos. He is closer to 7 inches at the widest point including the handle. the base is 4 inches across and the opening is 2.75 across ad 4 inches from back to mouth edge. there is a hallmark on the base indicating it is French as best I can read it says Caeil et Montreau inside a cup shape and depose he looks like he has some small blemishes. England during the early to mid 1800s. The wash bowl and pitcher have large floral sprays with a printed geometric and floral background in brown transfer print. I do not know the exact name or manufacturer of this set, but it reminds of the patterns Minton produced in the early 1800s. Neither piece is marked. The bowl is scalloped and measures approximately 13" in diameter and stands about 4 1/2" tall. The pitcher stands approximately 10 5/8" tall and it has a nice sculpted handle with a squat paneled form. Item Condition: The overall condition of the set is excellent. This is a large pitcher produced by Zeh. Scherzer& Company measuring about 6"high and 9" across including the handle. I have decided to sell it from my own personal collection. The dealer believes it is fromRockingham Works. England.Mid-1800’s. It stands 9” tall to the topof the finial and is 6” diameter at the widest point. It is a beautiful. Deep sky blue with goldand white flowers, ornate stripes, scrolling and a large leaf shape at thespout. The lid features a rose ontop. The handle is an ivory color. This piece is in excellent condition. Showingonly one 1” crack on the inside, on the strainer section, which does notinterfere with its function or beauty. Awonderful.
