Lovely. Vintage wash basin and pitcher set was bought and stored in the attic for 20 years and never used according to its owner. This set from Cronin of Fredericksburg would make a great addition to a country cottage or turn-of-the-previous century decor. The pitcher is gilded around its mouth and has embossed(raised) scroll work designs in the porcelain and has 3 clusters of pink and purple flowers around it's outerside. One under its lip and two inside the lip, yet visible. This piece is a copy of an original Copeland Spode specimen in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This auction is for a Superb Antique Porcelain Flow Blue Pitcher or Ewer made by Adderley of England circa 1912. It is Beautifully decorated with Flow Blue images of a Windmill lake scene on each side and hand applied sponge gilt accents and gold trim work. The piece is in very good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks. The piece has fine. Even crazing throughout, which is expected from porcelain of this era and adds character and authenticity. It has age-appropriate wear of the gold trim, mostly on the handle. Some might consider the piece a pitcher; others a ewer. Either way it is Lovely and Rare. I haven't been able to find another like it from Adderley with the Windmill design anywhere online. It measures 10 1/2 inches tall and is about 7 inches at its widest point. The bottom is marked with an impressed star. My Internet research finds that this was the mark of the Star Stoneware Co. of Crooksville. Ohio. In business from 1892 to 1945. What I have read indicates this particular mark was used during the 1900-1910 period. The pitcher is 8” high and about 5 1/2” across at its widest point near the bottom. It is in very good condition. A name of a genus of flowers. The pattern is a lovely yellow and brown floral design throughout, including the inside of the spout, against white semi-porcelain and gold accents. The pitcher has a Dunn Bennett& Co. Burslem backstamp as well as a British registration number that is stamped and an impressed registration number. Which dates the production of the piece to 1895. The lustre is still bright and beautiful. A deep coppery coloring and quite reflective so it is difficult to see the relief work. Beautiful Antique Art Nouveau Victorian Pitcher Great Floral Design
This auction is for a Striking Pitcher designed with an Art Nouveau floral pattern. This piece Displays Wonderfully. It is not marked so I am not certain of the maker. Origin or exact age of the piece. But it was discovered at a recent estate sale of an avid collector of Haynes Pottery and other wares manufactured in Baltimore. Maryland in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Given the form and style, I believe it was made by Haynes Chesapeake Pottery in that era. It is beautifully made and designed. The upper portion is a high glaze and the lower section is a matte. Soft yellow finish with an art nouveau floral pattern in brown, purple and gold. The piece is in good condition. Especially for its age. There are no chips or cracks. The designs and coloring are clear. There is some age appropriate loss of the gold accent lines and crazing. The mark on the bottom is Mason's Patent Irontsone China. Mason was the first to make ironstone in Staffordshire, England. This pitcher dates from the turn of the century. It is marked'England' indicating it was made after 1891 but before 1920. It is in very good shpae-has some crazing but no discoloration and no cracks. There is one very small chip on the outside of the rim that can be seen in photo#7. The pitcher stands 6" tall and is 3 1/2" in diameter at the base. It holds 28oz. Homer Laughlin Harry M Stevens Pitcher
This pitcher is white with blue trim and the Harry Stevens lion logo. Harry Stevens is known for introducing the hot dog to the concession stands of baseball. Polo and other sports in the early 1900's. He is also known for designing and selling the first baseball scorecard- a design still in use to this day. He coined the phrase“You can't tell the players without a scorecard. The pitcher was purchased at an estate sale; unsure of the age. It has some minor spots on the inside which look like ink. Perhaps used as a pen holder. This can be seen in the pictures. Also has 2 spots on the lip close to the handle that look like glue or similar compound dripped-also seen in the pictures. Rare Antique 1890's Pitcher Empire Trenton NJ
This is a very beautiful antique porcelain water pitcher circa 1890 made by Empire Trenton. NJ. This 11" tall 9" wide piece features the June Rose pattern. This 100 year+ pitcher is amazingly chip free, however along with generalized crazing, there are several small hairline cracks in the glaze near the rim(they do not penetrate) and what appears to be a water line discoloration on the bottom half of the pitcher. Foxes and hounds. One side dogs and one side foxes with a sly fox looking into pitcher. 6 3/4" to top of handle and fox ears. Fox handle is peeking into the pitcher. I think the pitcher is a mold and I have seen different versions painting. This is highly glazed and painted by Rose. Stark white background. Nicely molded with blue trim. Huge & Heavy Vintage Victorian Style IRONSTONE Water Pitcher & Bowl Basin Set
Hi. I have up for auction a beautiful vintage Ironstone, Victorian style Water Pitcher and Bowl Basin Set. It has been in my family for a very long time. I can remember my Grandmother having it set on a washstand. It is a very large and heavy Ironstone set. It is old and has been used, passed down and it does have flaws, and wear. It has 1 fairly large chip on the edge of the bowl. It has several small flake size chips on the top edge of bowl. It has small flake chips on the edge of pitcher. It has a few bubbles formed from the glazing. It is unmarked. It has no cracks that I can see. It has lovely roses and floral decor on the front and back with colors of brown, tan, and off-white. The basin measures 14 1/2" wide in diameter. It is approx. 4 3/4" deep. The pitcher mearsures approx. 11" tall by approx. 8 1/2" wide.
