Moderna Flow Blue Pitcher and Bowl Set by J&G Meakin, England
Up for your consideration is a beautiful FLOW BLUE pitcher and bowl set made by J& G Meakin. Hanley, England. This set is in the Moderna Pattern which was produced by them from 1903-1911, making this piece over 100 years old. The pitcher measures 11 inches tall by 11 1/2 inches across. The bowl measures 17 1/2 inches across by 5 1/4 inches deep. Condition is excellent for a piece of this age. There are no repairs, chips or cracks. The piece is very clean and was very gently used. There are several small glaze pops that can be seen in the photo's and a small rough spot on the bowl rim which can be seen in photo 3. There is a barely visible surface scratch on the pitcher, but I couldn't get a photo of it. It does not go through and can barely be noticed. very large antique Victorian white pitcher with gold trim
This pitcher is about 11 and 1/2 inches tall and about 10 inches across at its widest from the spout to the end of the handle. It has gold trim that has worn off in places and glaze that has crackled with age. It has a raised design at the top. Bottom, and handle. I do not see any chips or cracks. On the bottom of the inside is some floral clay that I did not try to clean off. The pitcher would look beautiful with fresh, dried, or silk flowers in it. It weighs about 3 and 1/4th pounds. Vintage Brass( and Porcelain Ewer Painted with Pansies- 18" high This is a gorgeous thing! It's most likely pre-1940's. Decorated porcelain with a metal base and top(and handle) and it's got a griffin on the handle and gargoyles on the base. There is a flaw in the porcelain section where something removed the glaze or paint(see picture#2) but otherwise it has the appropriate decoration and patina for an early 20th centure piece. FRANK BEARDMORE& CO. FENTON POTTERY HISTORIC POTTERY DOCUMENTING AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE in 1776 He was a manufacturer of earthenware at the Sutherland Pottery. Fenton, Stoke on Trent, England. It is documented that he began in 1901 through 1914 and often produced souvenir ware for the American and Canadian market. It is in wonderful condition for it's age of over 100 years. No cracks, no breaks, no repairs. There is some glare in the photos that may look like white spots but the images are in great condition. Clearly backstamped on the bottom with Frank Beardmore's mark. 7&1/4" tall by about 6" wide at the base Great addition to anyone's collection of historical pottery. Here is a Antique Victoria Carlsbad Austria brown stamped odd shaped Pitcher/ Ewer from the late 1800s to early 1900s. There are no chips. Cracks or crazing on it there are two seams on it each one has a small bump where it meets the base. The handle is a three pronged twig or root and is intact, there is a bell shaped opening under the rim and it is decorated with hand painted purple and yellow flowers. This is a lovely antique copper luster(lustre) milk or cream pitcher from the late 1800's.found in a local estate sale and fresh to the market. Clean and simple lines and wonderful deep blue in the colored band. Pitcher is 3-1/2 inches tall and 4-1/2 inches from spout to handle. Mouth is 2-3/8 inches in diameter and base is 2-1/2 inches in diameter. Overall in very good condition.base shows wear and small white area that appears to be leftover from a sticky tag. Antique stoneware or drabware pitcher dated September 1. 1840. This pitcher is quite grand and lovely. Made in sage green with attached and loose fitting original pewter top. It features a very detailed scene of 2 knights on horses in a jousting match. There are 2 other knights in armour standing by watching the match. There is also a tent. The pitcher is decorated with an elaborate band of grapevines with clusters of grapes, a Gothic design outlining the spout and base, and beautifully designed handle. The detailed workmanship on this pitcher is very fine. It measures approx. 6 1/2" tall to the top of the handle and approx. 5" across at the widest point. This is a rare and beautiful pitcher found in both the collections of the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert in London. This jug celebrates the Eglinton Tournament. Antique stoneware pitcher with decorated love birds could also be considered as a Jug. This fabulous piece is rare. Unique, and seldom seen in this brown/green color. Notice the love birds on the branch and they are on both sides of the pitcher. Inside the bottom of the pitcher is the letter G. Very detailed roping, the love birds sitting on a branch with leaves and berries. This pitcher measures almost 8 inches high. And 4 1/2 inches across the top of the pitcher. Neat item. It is 6 3/4" tall. fairly ornate design. The overall background glaze is an aqua color. There is painting on one side only. There are pink and white and lavender flowers in amongst the blue with gold accents. The bottom has a variety of marks that might help someone else identifie it. There are numbers which are raised in the center that look like 828 or possibly 823. There is a green glaze that looks like an L and then there is a triangle shape. It is a very nice little piece. Vintage 4 piece Washbowl Set
I don't know much about this set. Other than it is quite old. It came to me from my husband's side of the family. His mom had it in her attic for decades. The set was made by the Sterling Porcelain Co. Unfortunately the set is missing the all-important pitcher and there are large cracks in the bottom of the basin and some slight ones on the rim of the basin. But the designs in the basin are quite nice. The set is green and white with some gold designs. Each piece has a beautiful glaze There appear to be areas that look as if the finish has worn away over the years. But those areas are smooth to the touch. Two of the three smaller pieces are intact with no visible chips or cracks that I could find. There is a chip on the underside of the taller piece which can not be seen unless you turn the piece over. See the last picture. The three ... moresmaller pieces would possibly make make nice vases! Unmarked as many were of the early period, with light sign of wear and two very small nicks on the rim( impossible to photo so do not ask for additional pix.there are NONE) The work is otherwise in good condition and measure 4.25 inches high 5 inches wide from spout to handle and 1.5 inches deep. Basaltes ware. Also called Black Basaltes, basaltes also spelled Basalt, hard black vitreous stone ware, named after the volcanic rock basalt and manufactured by Joshiah Wedgwood at Etruria, Staffordshire, Eng. from about 1768. Wedgwood black basaltes ware was an improvement on the stained earthenware known as“Egyptian black” made by other Stafford shire potters.
