I used some superfine steel wool to remove glue residue where the bowl was repaired on one side, where it looks lighter. It is very smooth there and should look fine after a good rub of oil. PLEASE RESCUE THIS BOWL! It will look great on display! I'd keep it myself if I had room to display this. Please inspect all 11 photos closely. Turned wood bowl - Teak from Thailand - made by BOB STOCKSDALE before 1976
Turned-wood bowl made of Teak wood from Thailand. An early piece crafted by Bob Stocksdale sometime before 1976. Bob Stocksdale was a close friend for many years. While it is difficult to remember exactly when and where I purchased this bowl. It is most likely that I either purchased it directly from Bob, or at a local furniture and craft gallery in Berkeley, California, where Bob consigned works for sale for a number of years. Dimensions: 4 3/4" high x 9 3/4" diameter. Condition: Pristine. No chips. Cracks, scratches, or restoration. Because most bowls of this form were used for utilitarian purposes, it almost impossible to find one in this condition. Signature and markings: Teak from Thailand" and"Bob Stocksdale" burned into the wood. Excepting dealers with valid California resale license. All California residents ... moremust pay 8% sales tax. UP for your consideration this week is a Beautiful Antique or Vintage Wood possibly KOA. MAPLE, ROSEWOOD TEAK ETC? Note- I am not an expert in wood. And do not claim to be. This could be KOA, Mape, Rosewood, Teak, Oak etc. I really have no idea. Description: When I picked it up at the Estate Sale. I just thought it was beautiful. Someone who knows wood can probably take a look at the pics and tell exactly what type of wood it is. I can tell you this. The wood is a really pretty maple caramel color and feels really smooth to the touch. Bottom of bowl has a green felt so this is what lead me to believe it's probably antique, or vintage. There are some minor scratches. The Bowl itself is in excellent shape, and has a nice weight to it. I have not attempted to clean, nor polish this beauty. Nice trio of teak wood bowls. The large salad bowl is quite heavy with nice wood grain. Ligjht wear from use and measures 9.75" wide and 4" tall. The smaller companion bowl is 5.75" wide. The monkey pod bowl/scoop is by Dolphin and from the Phillipines and has one small one inch crack in the wood on the corner. Great vintage collection.

Welcome to Auction Diva Boutique. Today Up for Sale Estate Sale This is a lovely used bowl set that we are selling for one of my clients. We are not certain when(1960's wedding gift) or by whom the bowl was made. Sticker says made in Thailand, but we do know that it is still in fine condition. The large bowl has no chips. But a minor scratch on the outside. The smaller bowl are both in good condition. One of the bowls has a minor crack( please see picture, could be easy fixed,if you are handy. You are viewing a Vintage large Teak Wood Salad Bowl and utensils as well as 4 serving bowls. The y are all in excellent used condition with only minor surface w e ar. The large bowl measures approximately 11.5-11.75" across and 6.5" tall. The smaller bowls measure approximately 5.75" acr oss and 3.75" tall. Th e serving spoon and fork are approximately 14" long each. As with any hand carved items. The dimensions are similar with each but will vary slightly. The wood has a nice patina. The bowl measures about 11 1/2 inches in diameter and 4 1/4 inches high. The tongs measure about 13 inches long.
