Two Antique Victorian Wall Brackets ideal for Door/Shelves/Clocks- Reclaimed
A pair of Victorian wall brackets needing restoration but where authenticity is required they are ideal. They are suitable for door surrounds but would also serve to support shelves or even ornaments or clocks. They measure one foot seven inches long with an extra inch or so curve on the bottom. They are 5 1/2" across the back and the top platform is anther inch wide approx. There are not any signs of worm I am not sure of the type of wood as the grain is close and where it has not been painted with anything the wood seems to have a golden hue. Any questions please ask. It has 3 shelves; the repaired bottom shelf has weathered the years. A nice versatile feature is that you can hang it flat on a wall OR in a corner because the sides are slanted out. You can see in my photos that the door has clear glass, as it was last used as a Collector Display Cabinet. The good news is that the original old Beveled glass mirror was saved, as well as the mirrors wood backing. The mirror is included in the auction, and will be shipped with the cabinet. It should be easy to remove the glass and put the old mirror back into place. The entire cabinet looks to have the original old finish on the wood, and is tight strong, and ready to hang. The entire Cabinet measures approx. 24 1/2 inch, top to bottom, 16 3/4 inch wide, and has a depth of about 5 3/4 inch. There are 2 fixed shelves inside that have a depth use of approx. 4 inches, and height clearance of about 4 3/4 inch. Found at an estate auction, I am not sure of its age, but it is most likely early twentieth century. It appears to have the original finish. With minor blemishes, ... morebut is in sound condition. A partially visible horizontal top seam and a couple of vertical bottom seams are in need of some slight retouching or they could easily be left as is. There is no evidence of other repairs or breaks that I have noticed.but as can be seen in the photo, the back is covered with paper and I haven't tried to detach it. The mirror itself is in almost perfect shape. There are two heavy duty eyelet fittings on either side to hang it on the wall. Measurements are 15-1/2“width x 31-1/4“ high and it extends out 5” from the wall. The bottom shelf is 4-3/8" deep. While the other two shelves are 2-3/8" deep. The piece weighs 4 pounds 14 ounces. Her we have a 2 nice seest of ANTIQUE VINTAGE ORNATE 2 CAST IRON WALL SHELF SHELVES BRACKETS. I would rate them to be on a(8+/9) used vintage shape. The brackets measure 9 1/2" tall x 7 1/2 across the top. They have an ornate curl on the end where the shelf would rest. I would say a 6" deep shelf would be placed in the area. Each side of the shelf brackets have 4 holes for mounting to the wall and 4 holes to mount the wood shelf you provide. These were commonly used at the turn of the century and seen in Grocery Stores. The first bracket shelf is carved with a moustached man that looks like he is from the Renaissance period. The other bracket shelf depicts a woman with a headpiece of leaves. These shelves are in excellent condition with no breaks or repairs but the the one of the man's top is a little lose and needs to be reglued. This is a desirable shallow and plain antique country pine cabinet/cupboard with two interior shelves. Small enough to wall hang. It originated from England or northern Europe and was built around the middle of the 19 th century. I had it wall-mounted in my living room for many years. But have since downsized. The side seams show signs of age-related separating, but the cabinet is sturdy and not wiggly. I bought this from an antique store in San Anselmo. CA. In the 1990s. Antique Medieval Gothic Plaster Chalkware Wall Shelves Corbels. Up for consideration is an antique pair of Gothic Medieval plaster chalkware wall shelves. The shelves measure 14" tall by 9.5" wide and 5" deep. They measure more than 5 pounds each. The shelves appear to date to the late 19th or early 20th century based on the style made(crudely finished plaster finish on back and metal bar inserted into piece to hold in place on wall) It is painted black with antique gold decoration. As with most antique plaster pieces. They do have some chips to the finish but minor. These could be touched up with matching paint. It appears someone tried to touch up a spot on the gold at some point but used a bright gold instead of an antique gold paint(see photo) this is minor but worth noting. Stunning Pair of Antique Floral Brass or Bronze Wall Shelves/ Sconces
CLICK on the thumbnail photos above to enlarge for better detail! For your consideration is a stunning pair of wall shelves or sconces. As one can clearly see they are beautifully crafted in a floral. Stem and leaf design. Although not an expert, I believe thay are painted in their goldish copper color and since there are a few areas where the paint has worn off, the metal below appears to be bronze. They not marked though I believe these may date to some time mid 20th century. The two pieces are solid and heavy pieces weighing approximately 5 pounds three ounces each. There is a little play when prompted between the top shelf and the lower floral area which is only mentioned for accuracy as they are held together by two screws. As aforementioned there is some wear along with some areas where the paint has worn off though not easily or initially ... moredetectable. These detailed descriptions certainly do ot detract from the general aesthetics or functionality of the set and are only mentioned for accuracy. One may say they have weathered the years extremely well and are in very good condition for their age. These treasures measure approximately 13 to 13 1/8 inches longest point top to bottom( not counting the two extended areas where the screws go in to mount the piece) x 6 1/4 inches across x 5 1/8 inches front to back if looking at them from the front. This is a very solid heavy pieces weighing approximately 10 pounds 6 ounces together so shipping will most likely be higher than normal. We will not compromise the safety of breakable or bendable items by using an inappropriate size box in order to save on shipping.
