The 2 outer holes are about 3/4" deep& the center hole goes up into the block at least 1/2 way up or more. Im guessing this is so the block can be placed on a stand/post of some sort. Head portion of the block measures 6 3/4" tall x 7 1/2" long x approx 6 1/2" wide(tough to measure on the curve) The base measures 7 1/2" long x 6 1/4" wide x 3/4" tall. It is affixed with two bolts. It appears that there was some writing towards outer perimeter of base but it's mostly rubbed away& unreadable. No other markings that I can find. I have no idea how old it is but it's definitely vintage. I purchased a lot of 3 vintage hat blocks from the estate of a woman who was a skilled dress& hat maker. She moved to Florida 30+ yrs ago from New York so perhaps the blocks came from there? Block has a really nice patina to the wood and no damage(chips. Cracks, repairs) The lighting is off in the pic of the bottom so it's not true to color. Block has pin holes and tool marks from useage on the head as shown. Listed for your consideration is an antique millinery wood hat block/form/mold– composed of five sections. Engraved text on the bottom front reads: EMPIRE HAT BLOCK CO. NY 6414 FRONT 22 Hand written numbers in pencil or red color reads: 63 I am no expert. But I believe this is a healthy piece of millinery history with a handsome patina. As with any old wood piece, there are scratches, scuffs and other blemishes that come with a long journey. My favorite nuances are the faded lettering on the inside sections of the pieces when the mold is separated. The only condition issue that I would like to point out is that somewhere along the line. You are looking at a Wood Millinery Block/Mold manufactured by Midwest H. B. D. Co. Hat Block and Dye) Chicago. This is a basic style crown block crafted out of balsa wood. And stamped with model number 796 and size 23 inches. It can be used for displaying hats or for making hats. From front to back. The block measures 7 5/8” Side to side measures 6 3/4” The overall height is 7 5/8" tall and the circumference of the block is 23" Making it a very useful size. Vintage Millinery Hat Block Antique Mold Form Heavy Wooden Hat block(crown/tam/dome? style) with large affixed base stamped 3217 x 22(circumference of base) Head has a circumference of 24" at the widest berth. The number 2030 handwritten on the base. And there's a maker's mark on the top in white lettering, but it has worn off& I can't make out the words. I'm 98% the first word is 5 maybe 6 letters long, starts with an'R' and ends with an'OM' The other two words are unreadable. The block is constructed with 2 sliding interlocking pieces, secured with screws on each side. Some of the screws have been removed so the 2'halves' slide apart along a metal fastening bar. Hat portion of the block measures 7 1/2 tall x 7" long x 6" wide(tough to measure on the curve) Base measures 7" ... morelong x 6" wide x 3" tall(front) 2 1/4" tall(back) with 3 holes for stand on bottom. I have no idea how old it is but it's definitely vintage. I purchased a lot of 3 vintage hat blocks from the estate of a woman who was a skilled dress& hat maker. We bought this several years ago and it has been sitting in our attic for 15 years. We are not sure the time period. My husband feels it was used between 1890-1920 and possibly is a derby hat mold. The base has the number 2864. The rim has numbers 901st. 71/8, and 2 3/8. The mold is in 3 pieces with the block being a 2 piece puzzle. There are scratches and some imperfections. This antique milliners hat block i think dates to the 1920s but could be either way in date. It is made of wood that has nice colour and patina with age and is shaped as can be seen in the photos, there are holes underneath for mounting on a stand, i think the hat block is beret shaped but not certain, it measures10 inches diameter, there are a couple of stress cracks as seen in the photos and some pin holes with use but otherwise in good condition

Great Antique art deco S.H. Co. two piece millenary wooden block fedora hat forms/molds. I picked this up at a local estate. So not sure of the history behind this piece, but it's very unique. As you can see in the pictures, there are some signs of age and wear. I can't read what it says in the center of the middle mold piece, other than a couple of words. It is marked, S.H. Co. on the side of the rim as you can see in the photos. It has several markings on it, I wasn't able to get pictures of every single item. The markings on the brim mold are as follows, 24, 7 1/8, 2 1/8" the center mold is marked"7 1/8" 5 5/8" There is also a marking that says, Fedora" The brim mold measures 12 1/4" long by 10 1/2" wide and about 2 3/8" high. Antique vintage ladies millinery wood hat block / mold, beautifully made
This is from a collection of hat blocks acquired from the estate of a French milliner who came to the U.S. 1940s. And is a particularly beautiful one in its intricate construction and shape- it's my personal favorite of all I've offered for sale. I can't be certain of the date, but it is most likely from the late 30s/early 40s. Very solid, the form is constructed with a central"X" structure through a core cylinder, the outer shaped pieces varying in thickness from 1" to about 3/8"see photo details, difficult to describe! This is a gorgeous object with a lovely patina and it has obviously been used, so it has pin marks, a few nicks, scuffs, and discoloration toward the top(where the wood is darker) Stamped with a number"847" on side, it measures 22" circumference at base, 13" circumference ... moreat top edge, and is 6-1/4" high. You are looking at an antique Wood Hat Block/Mold. This is a men’s style hat block with a manufacture’s stamp“ Gerner& Co. Cleveland OH” and size“ 7 ½” This is a great extra large size crown block to have on the shelf! The circumference at the base of the block is 24” It stands 5 1/2” tall. From front to back. The block measures 8 1/4” Side to side measures 6 3/4” This is a solid hard wood block that is in original used condition. The wood shows some natural wear and push pin holes. Description: You are bidding on a vintage wooden hat form. Made in a puzzle-block configuration in three pieces. It is visually an attractive piece, with its dark and light woods contrasting nicely. I am unfamiliar with these, and as such I am uncertain of what type of hat or the particular size. It has a number of letters stamped at points in the blocks, I would think in order to aid construction in some way. Also, it is stamped on the bottom“HJA” which could indicate manufacturer or perhaps size? The form stands about 7.5” tall x 6.5” in diameter overall. And is in great shape. This is a very rare wooden hat block with a crease or top center seam? like on a hard hat or helmet. Signed. But I cannot make out the name, possibly Grand. This was used to make the classic bowler, derby and possibly cloche hats. Fantastic find in great solid condition with a few age cracks and a white strip that looks like paint, the size is marked 7 with# 950 and 4 1/4 on the edge. 4 1/4" is the side height of the block. For your consideration: This is a set of 2 wooden hat making blocks. I can not find a manufacturer name on it. These are both single piece molds. The flatter one is a styled pill box and the taller is sort of a squat fez shape. It is slightly smaller at the top of the crown. Both are marked size 22 1/2. I am pretty sure that these are balsa wood as they are light weight and easy to put a pin into. These seem to be custom hat making molds and are probably from the 1950s or 60s. They are in excellent condition with only the wear and tear from real use.

For your consideration: This is a wooden hat making block. I can not find a manufacturer name on it. This is a single piece mold for a very wide woman's hat brim. It it very wide. Measuring 16 inches wide. The brim is actually a circle. I don't know what kind of wood it is. But it is very heavy. It is stamped with identifying numbers 1307. Which I hope you can see in the photos. It is also stamped with the size of 22 on the base. As you can see it comes with a plug for the top. It fits in quite tightly and I am not sure if it is original to the block. This is an antique wooden hat form with box ma rked Caley Norwich. The hat form measures 9 inches tall and weighs almost 9 pounds. There are some cracks in the wood but it is solid and looks very old. The box measures 11.5 inches tall X 1 5 inches X 12 inches. The paper labels ins i de the lid give directions for retu rn ing the empt y boxes by rail to the company. Inter esting old mill i n e ry item. But the return shipping will be at the expense of the buyer. Ebay now prefers that sellers accept returns regardless of whether or not there was an inaccuracy in the listing. And regardless of the buyer's reason for the return(apparently not enough rent money. Drunk online shopping the night before, and any other regrets a buyer has after purchasing are now acceptable reasons for returning a perfectly good item) So. I will now offer a refund if the item is returned within 14 days in order to make the nice folks at eBay happy. An Antique Wooden Milliners Hat Block c1900
This antique wooden milliners hat block i think dates to around 1900. It has loads of patina with age as can be seen in the photos and has a nice shape with a ridge running down the centre which is quite unusual, the hat block measures 7.5 x 6 inches, there are some old shrinkage cracks in places but in solid condition just minor wear and tear and grubby with age

Vintage Antique millinery wood hat block and brim form set(2 pieces) We have had these for LOTS of years(probably about 45 years and they were old when we acquired them) and my husband actually used the block when we washed his work cap to reshape it but we are downsizing to move into senior living and will not have room for them. They are in original condition They have always been stored in clean. Dry area We believe they have always been a set as they appear to fit well but cannot guarantee this as we are not experts brim has number 3 and 7 1/8 impressed on edge impressed numbers 6 and 961 are on flat end of block block has name stamped on top- looks like Dobi2 but can't tell for sure brim is 12 5/8" long. 11" wide, 2 5/8" deep, circumference is 37.5" block is 6" tall. 6 3/8" wide, 7 5/8" long, circumference ... moreis 22" We have tried to take pictures from all angles We are not antique dealers but set is in very good condition.
