This has been in my family for over 50 years.It was given to my Mother in the 1970's by her dear elderly lady friend. 7.00Antique OAK 3 PART WOOD POLE - transom window or map puller
This is a useful. Screw together solid wood/ oak I believe/ 39" long pole/ stick when all 3 pieces together. The top and bottom can be screwed together as well to make a shorter pole. It is used on old transom windows that did not lock but had a hook type latch to raise and lower; some say it was also used to pull large maps down in old school rooms when the ceilings were typically 9' and higher. It looks like brass/copper wrapped around the wood stick on the ends that screw together. The solid brass loop shaped tip unscrews as well so it could be replaced with a hook for a different type of transom window. It is in as found condition. Estate item I've had for over 15 years just sitting. The wood appears in good shape, a few scratches but no cracks or breakage; no visible repairs I know of. This is an awesome vintage wood transom window that is small and came off of an old door. Tons of uses where a small window is desired and of course lots of craft designs. It is a little over 9" X 26 1/4" and there are two pieces of single pane glass. Very unique I think. Frame is in good condition with no rot or damage, but does have screw holes from previous hardware. Starts at $20 and will ship for $13. Please if there is a problem let me know. Great for a home restoration, or an art or crafts project. It measures 14 3/4" wide x 31 5/8" long x 1 1/16" wide. It is brown in color, has two hinges and a hook latch. Glass is intact. The glass panes are held in by the old style putty method. Made out of some type of light wood like pine or fir. ANTIQUE VICTORIAN OAK AND FROSTED GLASS TRANSOM WINDOW. MEDIUM WOOD TONE.
This is an old above door transom window. One side of glass is a frosted with a rippled texture while the other side is smooth. It is made out of a beautiful multi patterned medium oak color. It measures 26 long X 14 3/4" tall and 3/4" thick. The glass is set in the middle of the 3/4" width. As you can see from the picture. One of the strips that holds the glass in on the side is missing. It does not affect the glass moving. Also there is a Piece of wood missing on the end of the outside. The strip on the outside of the window needs a nail or two to hold it snug. It can be restored or you can use it as a decorative piece, or a cupboard door or medicine cabinet door. The wood is beautiful and has a nice hand finished look. No shellac. Arched Fan Transom Window Architectural Salvage All Wood
Arched Fan Transom Window: this lovely arched window exhibits excellent craftsmanship. The top of the window is made of small pieces of pine all joined together to form the arch. Inside is a double fan where glass has once been. The bottom of the window probably formed the top of an entry as it is mortised onto a lager board and painted. The paint is old and chippy. The wood is in very good shape. No sign of damage, though one side has two small cuts-outs in the board. There is no glass. This window would make a great decorator piece, or it can be used for its intended purpose. Measurements are: 40 ½” long(board) x 14” tall and 7 ½” deep. 1920s Vintage Porch Window Wood Sash Set Sunburst Fanlight Transom Architectural
INCREDIBLE FIND! This SEVEN PIECE set of Sunburst Fan Lite Transom Windows was carefully removed from a 1920s house and is is EXCELLENT condition with NO broken glass or damaged wood. Originally installed on a front porch. The glass is obscure so you can use it anywhere. The FOUR long windows are 7' X 14" and the small one is 3'8" X 14" The two other pieces are sidelites for a front door and are original to this set. The bottoms had some rot damage and were cut back to stable wood but they are good to use once you repair them. The front door unfortunately was already replaced decades before I was able to get these(probably due to rot as well) but I have a LARGE SELECTION of VINTAGE doors that would go perfectly with these windows.
