Thank you for bidding on this super piece of maritime history. This wooden whale weathervane top came from the Outer Banks area of North Carolina. It is in great shape for its age. Wooden weathervanes typically did not hold up very well near the coast. But this one is nice.

Weathervane Windmill with Rooster on Top from Montana Ranch-Antique
This old unit needs some TLC on the windmill. However, the rooster and wind tail are in nice vintage galvanized shape. Someone that wants to restore the windmill could do it with some tin snips, a drill and a little time to make up the blades and braces that are missing. The hub bearings appear to be o.k. as it spins. It was mounted on and is an old galvanized pipe. We will ship by taking the windmill off the weathervane and laying all flat in strong cardboard. This unit is off a ranch in West Montana. A lot of history in this one. It weighs 20 lbs. of metal. The total length is about 3' the wind tail is 18" x 18" and the windmill is about 32" in diameter when complete.

Antique Pheasant Weathervane, hand-painted.on Top huge chicken house(egg farm)
Antique Pheasant weather vane. Was on top of 4 unit apartment building I own. At one time building was a huge hen house, filled with the best egg laying chickens,or so I'm told.Building was converted into 4 unit apartments in 1955. About ten years ago I talked to a neighbor(he was about 80 then) he said he remembers that pheasant weather vane when it was a"chicken house" also said that a lot of weather vanes were chickens/roosters, but I guess the chickens didn't want their own kind, up there on the roof,then he laughed. Think its made out of aluminum& was hand painted, still see some of it. Hard to believe its that old, until you look at the metal screws, that's decades out in the weather. This shiny black rusted ancient piece is 9.25 ounces in weight. 8.5 inches in length and 3.6 inches in width and.75 inch depth. I am not sure what it was used for. My best guess is a weathervane pointer. It has some rust showing through the top layer of paint and obvious previous rust buildup that has been painted over in the past. Copper ANTIQUE LIGHTNING ROD Twig Branch Finial BARN WEATHERVANE TOP
This copper lightning rod/weathervane tree branch/twig finial is a little over 10" long. The threaded opening is 5/16" across. The finial remains in fine. Sound, weather-beaten condition but one of the twigs has about 1/2" broken off. It weighs about 3 ounces. We'll ship the relic shown in our scans with tracking number for $3.85. We just listed two matching finials like this one but they both are in undamaged condition.
