Vintage Old and Original Horse Weathervane and Lightning Rod Ball, Neat and Nice
Neat Old and Original Circus Horse Weathervane and Blue Milk Glass Quilt Lightning Rod Ball. Weathervane is called a Circus Horse vane because it has a belly band around the horse's middle. Weathervane is hollow bodied and made in the 1915-20's. The horse is tim metal and the front arrow is old cast iron. Weathervane measures 33 inches long. Horse measures 14 inches long.10 inches tall and about 1 1/8 inches thick. This weathervane style was very popular way back then for the roofs of Barns and old Victorian Homes. Horse was large enough to be easily seen from some distance. This one fit over a 5/8 common lightning rod-the most common rod. The blue milk glass"quilt" ball measures 5 inches wide and 5 1/2 inches tall. It will fit over the common rod or the more fancy twisted star rod. Both items look great together. Antique Tennis Lady Weathervane Purchased from an Old Barn in Northern Virginia I don't know too much about these but I believe it is copper. Please judge for yourself) Looks like it was painted gold at one time. Nice shape. There appears to be no dings or dents. There is no visible rust that I can see. No cracks or splits. Vintage James Weathervane Cow Nice
For your consideration is an antique James Weathervane cow. The cow measures approx 15" wide by 9" high. It is made of non-magnetic zink& silver soldered seams. Firmly soldered and mounted to original copper rod. The copper rod could be fitted to the original cast iron arrow if you wish. You are bidding on the cow mounted on rod only. One.22 shot at the neck area adds some interesting character. No rust with wonderful aged patina throughout entire cow. A couple of very minor dents I will clearly picture.The condition is exceptional considering it's 100 plus years old. Up for sale is a local southern california estate sale find of an Old Weathervane with a WHITE HORSE on BLACK STAND. It measures 22 1/2" Tall in all by 28 1/2" wide and has the north south east and west Letters and it does spin with the wind and works. This weathervane has old white& Black paint on it that is cracking or peeling from age. I think it looks better this way but could easily be repainted to look new if desired. Not sure, but through the best research I could do I Believe it maybe a Mohican Indian image. Was told this came off a house built in 1800's in Viriginia. Weathervane has been stored since removal over 26 years in garage. Has the N/S/E/W and the 2 balls, and the rod. Also comes with the brace to attach the item to your roof. I believe all is original. Measurements: From base to top of feather on his head measures 56 inches. The rod to the small ball at base of Indian is 33 inches. The rod that holds the Indian on measures 11 inches. Antique Bronze Weathervane Direction Arrows Nice Patina Finish
Large Antique Weather Vane Directions From an old estate. These are bronze direction pieces that would go on the pole beneath the figure. There are two pieces that make the direction letters. Each piece extends from the center piece and has the direction letter at the ends- N S E& W. The arms extend 9" from the center. And they are each 3.25" tall. The direction letters are made of a heavy bronze(magnet does not stick) and have a weathered aged finish. The North-South piece is slightly thicker metal but the pieces fit well together and are the same size. There are screws on both center pieces to tighten the arms to the weathervane pole. I have for auction a beautiful Green glass lightning rod ball/ globe. It measures approx 5.5" the openings are approx. 1 1/4" on the outside and 1" on the inside of the hole. I see the bubbles in the glass as well as the dimples too that just shows how old this is. It could use a cleaning but will leave that up to the winning bidder. I do not see any cracks or chips except around the openings(see pics) nothing to bad. If you have the caps they will cover the chips on the ends. There is no reserve on this great old weathervane. Up for bid is this aluminum or zinc advertising weathervane with“Robbins Maryville. Mo. inscribed on both sides of one end of the arrow. It is in good working order, but there is a slider on top to attach another piece which we don’t have. The insulator has a crack from top to bottom on both sides. This vane appears to be smaller than some on the pictures that we have seen of other Robbins weathervanes. All in all this is a great old advertising piece. Antique Small Hollow Body Horse Figure Lightning Rod Weathervane REAL NICE PART
Here we have for sale a very nice horse for a lightning rod weathervane. This is the small trotting horse. It is made of tin and is soldered together in two halves. This was covered in layers upon layers of paint. I stripped it and it turned out great. All seams are tight. No dents or bullet holes. Has a nice rusty surface but not badly pitted or rusted thru. The wires are very solid and it's ready to remount. This is a very nice condition small pony, no junk here. I put a quite a bit of time in cleaning this up to make it useable!

For Sale Is A Vintage Flying Pig Weathervane! I do not know the age of this weathervane. It is in overall good condition with some wear. The pig and balls I believe are Hollow Copper. The North/South& East/West are some type of metal. They do have some slight green color piting but are solid and strong. The pig is 14" from the bottom of the foot to the top of the head. It is 25" long from the nose to the back foot. The directional bars are 17 1/2" long. The shaft that this is sitting on is approximately one foot belong East/West bar. Antique/Vintage Weathervane Arrow and Directionals Arrow was broken in half near the center. I had a professional solder the two pieces back together using real silver solder. He did a great job! Arrow measures approximately 21-1/2 inches long. It has a set screw. Post hole measures approximately 1/2" in diameter. I believe that the arrow head is brass. Pole is brass, and the"feather" of the arrow is Copper. Directionals are a matching set. They each have set screws. Both measure approximately 18 inches long. I believe they are brass. VINTAGE COPPER PIG WEATHERVANE WITH TWO BALLS - NICE PATINA - FARM FRESH!!
Vintage farm fresh pig weathervane. Based on the greenish corrosion. I'm pretty sure that the pig and balls located above and below the compass direction arms are made of copper. There is also green corrosion on the N, S, E, and W arms, but I'm not sure if they are copper or if the corrosion dripped down from the pig. This is a large weathervane that measures over 34" tall and 25" wide. Not sure of the age, but it was recently removed from an old barn on a farm in northern Michigan. Shows lots of patina and a bit of rust on the rod, which I presume is steel. There is one very small dent in one of the front legs where it appears some aspiring young hunter stalked this swine with his red ryder bb gun.
