I purchased ... moreit at an old suburban farm yard sale many years back. The steel cross arrow and James logo are flanked buy a full bodied zinc cow at the other end. The is 32-1/4 inches. It has a 5-1/2 inch, zinc, cone base-cover and a hollow zinc finial. The dark amber glass ball is 4-1/2 inches in diameter. It stands 33-1/2 inches tall. The black and gold painted surface must be at least 50-60 plus years old. The condition is very good. There is only see a slight dent in one side of the cow. The glass ball is in great shape as are the cone and finial. It doesn't appear to have any old repairs. It's held together with cotter pins to keep it lined-up. Here we have for sale 5 old original lightning rod glass balls. These are all very nice quality old vintage balls. You get a SCA Moon& Star. An Amber Moon& Star, a SCA Electra, a Blue Milk Electra, and a SCA/WMG Diddie Blitzen. All balls are in great shape. Any collar chipping, a cap more than covers. There is no major chips on any of these, just nicks or small eraser size chips. No bb damage or cracks. I'm selling these as a starter collection. If they don't sell, then I may offer them separately. These are spares from my collection and are all old, vintage, hand picked items. Nothing phoney with these. Vintage Weathervane Antique lightning rod Ball 21" Country Decor Farm Copper
For your consideration I have two copper lightening rods. They measure 21" tall. They do feature quite a bit of patina from years of being out in the elements but could be cleaned up nicely. The mounting brackets look as though they have been painted silver at some point. They both feature two rings with screws to hold the lightening ball in place. One goes on top and the other on the bottom of the ball. I am including a ball with each rod. One is a very pretty Easter purple color and the other is white. The balls are not cracked throughout but do exhibit some chips around the top and bottom rims as most all balls do. The rest of the ball is great condition. I do not have caps that go around the top and bottom rims of the balls. You do not need them but if you would like they can be purchased fairly inexpensive on Ebay. These rods and ... moreballs compliment each other very well and would be a great addition to any country decor. Don't Hesitate. Here we have for sale a very old original lightning rod bayonet tip. The tip has the small 7/16" thread. The tip is a 10" brass bayonet. It has a nice looking bell style base. This style is attributed to Reyburn Hunter Co. and Smith- Hewitt as well as others. Has old black patina and maybe gold finish? Tip is in good shape. Not resharpened and she's not bent up. This is a great lightning rod tip and this 1880's- 1890's stuff aint easy to get anymore that isn't deteriorated away.

Old Rare Original MUNSON Lightning Rod Weathervane & Glass Ball Farm Hardware
Here we have for sale an old original glass lightning rod ball. You are buying the ball on the left only. These are very rare Munson Lightning Rod Co. glass balls. The right ball is complete. With glass threaded tube and zinc threaded caps. The ball on the left is the same but doesn't have the tube or the caps. You can see in the pictures, the stained circle areas where the caps sat. These type balls have extra wide collar openings and little or no collars. This is intentional in manufacturing. The skirted cap screws down over the tube and rides against the shoulder of the ball. This type of glass ball was patented by Alvin J. Munson in 1887. Original zinc caps carry the name and patent date. These are rare balls and you don't find any parts much less complete balls much anymore. This ball was found here in South Central Ky. this ... morepast Thursday. It is 110% original, untouched, as found on a roof. No damage at all. All the staining is as mother nature put it. There was no caps or tube present. Old 1900's Original Franklin Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Hardware Barn Find
Here we have for sale an old original lightning rod fresh from the loft of a Kentucky barn. Found this relic suspended from the rafters of a dilapidated barn here in South Central Ky. It has been dangling for quite some time as most of the green patina has tarnished with a rusty red finish. The tin roof was mostly ripped off and this was the only rod left. Rod is a 5' copper clad twisted style rod. Yes I know it doesn't look copper but it actually is. It's a copper plate over a steel rod, not a thin copper wrap. These were the most expensive rods on the market at the time but they didn't hold up well. The copper and iron didn't agree with each other. The copper plate is rust stained but if wire brushed will be bright copper except for were the iron has rusted thru the plating. The rod is still very solid with some minimal ... morepitting. Here we have for sale a very nice set of 3 fancy scroll style lightning rods. Here's what you get 3-18" all aluminum noninsulated scroll stands. 3- all aluminum 32" twisted star rods. There's a 4th. rod with a split two piece ferrule but no stand. Note added 2-3-2014. This 4th rod is no longer included. Look at the way the rods spiral with a taper. Forming their tips. Quite unusual indeed. Each rod has it's twp piece cast aluminum T- clamp for connecting to the ground cable. You also get 3- 4-1/2" plain round glass balls. These each have a pink cast to them. Collars are good and there's no cracks or bb damage. No caps, I kept em. You get everything pictured, except the single rod with ferrule. These would be excellent to put back on a roof or put them in your collection. If you want. Here we have for sale a very nice victorian era iron lightning rod. Lightning rod is made of twisted iron with brass fittings. Rod is 41" long with a nice big 10" brass bayonet. Rod has the bottom clamp. Bottom female fitting is stamped St. Louis L.R.Co. St. Louis. Mo. Stand is the standard style and measuers 24" tall. It is the insulated style with 2 white porcelain double collar style insulators. No damage to these. Real nice looking old lightning rod indeed. Here we have for sale a lightning rod finial that has a very rare crown point with letter"G" Rod portion is made of copper. Lightning rod portion is 13.75" in length. Has some green patina throughout the whole piece. The rod has some black paint it looks like? Tip is a brass( at least I think it's brass& not copper? it has. 11 point crown point with a letter"G" in the center. I've been told this a rather tough tip to find. This particular crown point is bigger than any other I've seen. Nor have I ever seen it with this letter inside of it. Here we have for sale a very ornate lightning rod weathervane shaft. This is 100% guaranteed original. The fancy iron shaft is 23" tall and fits a 3/4" sprial rod. There is a split in the seam on the rod towards the front. By the looks of the mounting holes. It had a small cow originaly. Also included is the original ferrule that this was on. It's worn thru where the vane rides at the bottom but still is usuable. Great looking old shaft and not easy to find!

Antique Victorian Era 1890s 1900s Cast Iron Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Barn
Here we have for sale a very nice lightning rod glasstail weathervane. This vane is 18" long and fits a twisted style rod. It has the original red over clear glass with a nice fat snowflake design. There is old staining on the glass and the frame has some silver roof paint. The small nick like area visable at the top center of the glass 3rd picture. Isn't an actual nick or damage. It is actually a small cut to see which side of the glass is the red side. I have a couple other glasstails with this same"test" mark. These designs are cut with a wheel. You grind through the thin red layer exposing the clear layer and viola you have your design. If you mistakenly made a big cut on the clear side, you ruined your glass. The frame is straight with no damage. This is a darn good looking little glasstail and is worthy of the best ... morecollections.

I have for sale an Antique or Vintage Lightning Rod Arrow Weathervane with what I believe is Amber Glass. This Arrow measures 21 1/2 inches long. The arrow itself I would say is in good condition for its age. I do not see anything broke but I do see right between the tip of the glass and where the lightning rod goes in where one of the little things comes out just the tip is missing-it would be close to the narrow tip of the glass. Vintage Antique Lightning Rod with WeatherVane Barn Farm Primitive Garden Decor
This lightning rod with weathervane came off the barn at my dad's farm. It was removed many years ago and has been sitting in the barn for years. The ball is NOT made of glass like some antique rods. It appears to be plastic. The Lightning rod and weathervane feel and look like aluminum. There is some blue/green patina that suggests the possibility of copper, but I can't be certain. A long time ago, my dad had the metal roof painted with an aluminum paint which is now on the lightning rod(the ball is originally white) I have not done anything to clean it and will leave that to the new owner. Approx. 3 ft. tall. The main rod slides up and down in the tripod feet. Making it taller or shorter. I've selected up to 5 days for handling because I may need to custom make a box for it. VINTAGE ANTIQUE LIGHTNING ROD WEATHERVANE ARROW GREEN GLASS FARM BARN ROOF
I have an original lightning rod arrow weathervane with green glass. This Arrow measures 21 1/2 inches long. The arrow is in good condition for its age. It has a small amount of rust and well pitted from age. I would consider this to be the original glass but could be wrong. It is not in good shape. Has been glued as seen in picture and is missing a small piece at corner. There is a gap where the glass and the framing do not match up well. 1900's Victorian Short All Copper Lightning Rod Weathervane Farm Barn Part
Here we have for sale a real nice looking 33" copper lightning rod. Stand is made of heavy copper wires that have been hardened. Check out the neat looking Y connector on the bottom of the tube.
