Offering a wonderful OLD weather vane arrow with painted zinc CIRCUS HORSE prancing into the wind. This piece is is great shape. No holes, original patina, ready to hang! Fabulous Antique Plow Horse Man Farmer Weathervane on Arrow Old Black Paint

The form is that of a pair of work horses pulling a plow and guided by a man/farmer. The reins are made of early twined wires. The plow. Horses, and farmer are riveted on an arrow. The vane is in a fabulous old black paint, with traces of a silver paint over it in some areas. There is no rod, so this would be displayed as a wall mount, unless you want to attach a rod to it in order to use it on a building. There are eight bullet holes in the horses, and one in the farmer, so this was obviously used for target practice when it was on the barn. The condition is very good, with just minimal paint loss. You are bidding on a TOTALLY AUTHENTIC AMERICANA FOLK ART antique Horse Weather Vane. That is made out of some kind of metal alloy and mounted on an iron arrow and once used as a weather vane. IT LOOKS GREAT mounted on a wall. The piece has wonderful, artistic lines- it's 28" long from the tip of the arrow to the end; the height is 12" from the tip of the horse's ears to the bottom of the arrow; and the horse itself is 13" long, but would be 2" or so longer if his front leg were still attached to the metal mounting. The appears to be some of carousel or circus horse, as there is a sculpted band around its middle. THE ARROW HAS AMAZING PATINA, and both it and the horse are obviously very old and weathered. Antique Appaloosa Horse Weathervane Up for consideration is a tall. Over 26" old, all aluminum, weathervane, featuring an Appaloosa horse on a the arrow directional. The arrow tail is complete with one bullet hole through the lower half of the feather portion of the arrow. The metal is all pretty straight, but not perfectly straight. All of the vane has been recently painted, with the exception of the arrow. The base has a screw like bottom. The arrow is 21 1/4"long, the horse being 6 1/8" tall and 7 1/2" long, and the directionals are 13 3/8" long, with the letters being 2 9/16- 2 5/8" in height. It weighs about 1 lb. and 4 oz. Here we have a RARE find and that would bean Authentic ANTIQUE Horse weather vane with a Large Iron arrow pointer. I took this from a fallen down barn years ago up in Pennsyvania and I gurantee it to be OLD and as described. Base measures about 23 inch from end to end. The Horse is about 9 inch from end of the tail to the end of the nose.This was how it was when i found it, not sure if it had fletching on the Arrow shaft at one time, if so no signs of it. You can see that the horse has been reattached to the arrow and maybe has some other old repairs but obviosly done a Long time ago. Was done in a primitive manner but still seems solid. Horse has several spots where it looks like it was shot with a small caliber gun, None of this detracts I don't think but please see my photos which shows all this well. Horse looks to be made out of Zink and has some good detail to it like these older ones often did. The glass is intact with no chips or cracks. The total height of the weathervane is 37" from top to bottom. It is 22" at the widest points. The horse is 8"x9" The glass kite tail is 8.5"x4" This great piece of antique. Farm folk art will make a great addition to any home or building décor.

Measures: 32 1/2"H x 231/2"W(Arrow Points end to end) Horse measures: 9"L x 8"H and the NSEW are 16"L The piece is in very good vintage condition has some wear due to age. One of the screws stripped that attaches the horse which I pictured. It can be repaired and one of the balls has a dent which I photographed as well no other damage.

The weathervane measures 17.5" at its widest point which is the length of the arrow and 21.5" from top to bottom. The HORSE is 9.5" long and 7" tall. Here is an Aluminum. Prancing Horse, Weather Vane directional piece. This would be the top piece that would swivel around with the wind to show what direction the wind is blowing. It is 17&1/2" long, 9" tall, and 3/4" wide. It weighs 1 lb. 3 oz. I am listing this as aluminum but I am not positive what kind of metal it is. A magnet does not stick to it. The metal is not damaged in any way. The hole to set down on a spindle is 3/8" wide. There is a reducer inside this hole that takes the opening down to 1/8" wide. The reducer probably can be removed if you need the full width of this hole. I have no idea of its age. I have had it for over 15 years.This could be used for indoor decorating too. Up for auction is a vintage horse weathervane with directional arrow recently found at auction in the suburban Philadelphia. PA area. it is found in good to very good used condition. This architectural weathervane retains some of its original black paint but also exposes its silver aluminum base. Te horse appears to be in walking or prancing form, with two legs up. The opening on the base will fit on a pole or rod with a diameter between 1/4" and 2/8" in size. Directional arrow and tail also in good condition. This is a very hard to find 1800's hollow-body trotting horse weathervane directional arrow. The horizontal arrow is magnetic and appears to be cast iron. The horse is attached via the twisted metal portion that extends into 2 of the horse's legs. The horse is. I believe, made of zinc- it is nonmagnetic and lightweight and has no bullet holes.which is quite rare! The arrow is 24" long. The horse is approximately 9 1/4" long x 7 5/8" tall.
