Antique Vintage Lightning Rod Weathervane Arrow White Milk Glass Ribbed Ball
Antique or Vintage. Kind of hard to date these, Lightning Rod/Weathervane. As you can see it has had it's years of use, the arrow does not rotate freely and will need a little work if you are intending to use this item, if not its a great piece of American art form from the past. Also as shown in the pictures the pointed top does come off, and will be off for shipping. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so unless you have questions I'll just give dimensions. The entire piece is 67" tall the arrow is 23" wide and the white ribbed ball is 4" tall. Thanks for looking!

Antique Cast Iron & Red Glass Weathervane Arrow, Glass ball & display mount
A great looking Antique Weathervane Arrow and Sun Colored Milk Glass Lightning Ball set up on a display base and mounted on a copper Lightning Rod. The items featured in this display all date to at leat the 1940's and likely are even older. The fancy cast iron arrow measures 18 inches long and has the original red tail glass and even though their is a crack in the one corner. It is firmly and solidly set into the iron frame. The old white milk glass ball is 4 inches in diameter and has a lovely lavender tint due to being exposed to the sun for many years. The entire piece stands 17 inches tall, is 18 inches wide and is set into a walnut base for display. Vintage Copper Lightning Rod Weather Vane with Glass Ball & Directional Arrow
For auction is a complete vintage copper lightning rod/weather vane similar to the one seen on a recent version of American Pickers. This one was one of two that graced an old barn in eastern Pennsylvania. It would make a great architectural display piece for your home. Right now. It is mounted on a board for display purposes but it will not be shipped with the board. You can supply your own and save shipping costs. The three legs and framework for the rod are iron and are rusted from years of being exposed to the elements. Just the rod is copper. The three legs were meant to be spread out and attached to the peak of the roof. The bottom of the rod has a copper loop through which ran copped cable to make any lightening strike go to ground. The glass ball was intended to explode if hit by lightening to indicate a strike. The pictures are representative ... moreof its brown light coffee color. There are no cracks in the glass but there are flakes on the upper and lower edges of the circular hole as can be seen in the 6th and 7th pictures. It appears that the more serious flakes resulted from the ball turning on the directional arrow. I suppuse there is some type of washer or gasket to prevent this type of damage. The arrow is 20 3/4" long. It is made from cas aluminum or white metal as it is not very heavy. The rod stands 65 3/4" tall and the entire peice shows good green copper patina.The ball will be shipped separate from the rod and arrow to prevent damage.

VINTAGE ALUMINUM 18" LIGHTNING rod directional ARROW MOON plastic BALL
Hi. Up for auction is an old lightning rod we took off my parents house this fall. the house was built in 1974. how old the rod is, I'm not sure. it is made of aluminum, it is 17-1/2" h and the arrow is 17" L. the directional arrow has a moon figure on it. the point is intact, ex condition. it comes with the roof mount bracket, ready to install. the ball is yellow plastic. it has NO holes or cracks but there is some gunk built up on it due to being out in the weather all these years. the whole thing is in EX condition.

Orig Miller Quality Lightning Rod Weathervane Bayonet Tip, Glass Ball & Arrow BO
All Original signed Miller Quality on the brass bayonet tip. I have listed this item as Buy it Now or Best Offer. A magnet does not stick to the bayonet tip or the ring that goes around the glass ball. I am not sure if it is silver. Brass or copper. The bayonet tip measures from top to bottom 10" and the tip of the three sided bayonet has a very sharp tip on the end and has a green color to it. The steel arrow measures 15" from the tip of the arrow to the end, the end of the arrow is missing. The steel arrow is approximately 1/4" thick steel. The glass ball measures approximately 6" tall and is approximately 4 1/4" across. The ball has a non metal ring that goes with it. The lighting rod was taken off of an old 1800's barn years ago that was being demolished and was stored away in my collection. I am selling all ... morethe pieces together and not breaking them up. You get what you see in the pictures, the bayonet piece, the ball ring, the smoky glass ball, and the steel arrow. I have taken twelve pictures so you can see all the features of this unique lighting rod. There are no cracks in the glass ball. Where the ball would sit on the lighting rod rings it does have rough edges, but the glass on the ball itself is not cracked or chipped, it does need cleaned, I will leave that up to the professional. The Lightning Rod has the twisted iron rods which show its age due to the rust on the rods but in good shape. The rods have two connectors that have the white porcelain insulators marked“ RH CO No. 74” Reyburn-Hunter and Company) The copper end on the middle rod is also marked“ RH CO” and has a green patina. The center rod measures approximately 62” high. The arrow is marked“Kretzer St. Louis” and shows its age with its green patina. The arrow is non-magnetic and measures 22” long. The ball is a nice cobalt blue color in good condition with just the usual nicks/cuts on the rims. There are no ball caps. Hard to find set up. The weathervane is missing one of the small attached copper-bronze stars on the bottom. The other three are present. The nice Amber lightning rod ball is nice-the collars are very good. Ball has not been cleaned by me-I like to leave them as originally found. It can easily be cleaned with a fruit jar brush and soap. Outside is of course clean. the Rod is 44 inches tall and in good condition. The weathervane measures 23 1/2 inches long. Please notice that the shape of the lightning rod ball fits the shape of the weathervane center. They were made this way on purpose. The amber ball is worth more than a white or blue ball ... moreand it belongs with it. The missing star simply screws into the vane with it's already factory pre drilled small hole. Witch Weathervane Hand Forged Lightning Rod Ball Directional Arrow
I am selling a really cool hand forged Witch Weather vane. It is in pretty good condition but does have a small repair where one of the rivets holds the little bracket for the vertical rod. It measures about 37-1/2" long and about 21' high and is a thicker metal. Very cool with the star hanging on the hat and I believe it is one of a king and pretty unusual. Cobalt Blue 1891 Arrow Roof Glass Lightning Rod Ball
Hard to find 6 by 6.5 inch 1891 arrow roof glass. These were often used with the Bergoon ball system. They were inserted into a channel on the roof and were very attractive. Generally used on old Victorian homes. I was fortunately to see one in use in Vincenes. Indiana in the late 1970s. Couple of light chips on the glass that was in the channel but overall very nice. 2 lbs priority mail and I do combine orders to save on shipping when possible. Copper Eagle Weathervane on Ball with Arrow and Directions Vintage Antique
Classic. Eagle weather vane. Hollow, copper construction. The Eagle is standing on a ball, it comes with the directional arrow and North/South, East/West directions. There is a short 2 1/2" pipe bellow the ball. Does not include the roof mounting rod on which the other two balls are placed. Wing span is 23 1/2" the height from the bottom of the tail to the top of the wing is 16" Arrow measures 21 1/2" long. Everything together weighs 6 pounds. We found it at an estate sale in San Diego.
