RARE ANTIQUE CIRCUS HORSE Weathervane on KING cast iron ARROW, primitive decor
Offering a wonderful OLD weather vane arrow with painted zinc CIRCUS HORSE prancing into the wind. This piece is is great shape. No holes, original patina, ready to hang! The entire set is 34" long, the arrow point end is cast iron, fitting onto a copper rod. The circus horse is firmly attached to the copper rod. Antique Cast Iron Ornate Weathervane Lightning Rod ARROW ~Looks to be Kretzer
ANTIQUE ORNATE IRON ARROW Measures 22.75" long. There are no breaks. Cracks, or repairs to this fancy old arrow. An eBay search shows me it looks just like a Kretzer but I don't see the name where it usually is. See my last photo. Don't know if they were ever unmarked or if it could wear down that much? We are not weathervane people. There is no glass. See photo 8.Should there be something there to hold the glass? We suspect so.Probably an easy fix for those accustomed to working with weathervanes.

Antique Cast Iron & Red Glass Weathervane Arrow, Glass ball & display mount
A great looking Antique Weathervane Arrow and Sun Colored Milk Glass Lightning Ball set up on a display base and mounted on a copper Lightning Rod. The items featured in this display all date to at leat the 1940's and likely are even older. The fancy cast iron arrow measures 18 inches long and has the original red tail glass and even though their is a crack in the one corner. It is firmly and solidly set into the iron frame. The old white milk glass ball is 4 inches in diameter and has a lovely lavender tint due to being exposed to the sun for many years. The entire piece stands 17 inches tall, is 18 inches wide and is set into a walnut base for display. The weathervane measures approximately 24 and 1/4" long and stands about 15" tall. For the age and use it's in Very Good Condition; it has a variegated verdigris and rust patination which to me looks phenomenal. The head is rusty but solid, and there appear to be several filled holes here and there. Under the head the seam is split somewhat but that could be repaired. Of course there are dents, dings, and so forth, but nothing I would rate as being negative. As far as the history, it came off a barn in Fair Haven, NJ, which was built in the 1870s, and remained in the same family until I acquired it recently. Although I'm not sure how old it is. I'm guessing early part of the 20th century. The paint on the rooster itself is real chalky and appears to be chalk paint. It will come off on your hands. The rooster is a heavy cast aluminum and is thick-bodied. Not slender like most. The rest of it is a cast iron base and a metal tube. It has a long bolt through it. The rooster looks like it used to thread on there but it is now loose and will come off. This would be a great decorative piece as it just has that"look" to it. It measures about 18 1/2 inches tall overall and the rooster is about 8 1/2" long. Antique Cast Iron Lightning Rod / Weathervane Arrow Amber Glass w Globe Ends 20"
I purchased this Lightning Rod Arrow with Amber Textured Glass Tail Insert at a farm estate sale here in rural WV. It is a cast metal probably cast iron and has ornate decorative work. The glass ball had been broken years before and the farmer had tied the ends for the glass ball onto the arrow so I left them. They are some sort of light metal and one has a bend but can be straightened. The arrow measures 20" and I see no damage other than some oxidation and light scraping.

Up for auction is an antique/vintage weathervane/lightning rod arrow. Age unknown. It appears to be made out of brass. It's getting the greenish blue tint like brass and copper do over a period of time. All original and intact. It measures 17" from tip to tail. The hole is approx 3/4 in diameter.
