I was told this is a tea table. It has a tilt-top or drop leaf. When the table top is raised it locks into place. It shows wear from years of use and has a nice patina. I don't see any damage or repairs. It is still a beautiful classic solid wood piece of furniture made by one of the finest American Furniture Makers, Baker.
