Reclaimed 1920s Industrial Metal Railroad Car Barn Wood Table - Handmade
1920s Industrial Metal Barn Wood Table. A piece of American History! The Materials: This table is made from a rare& rustic tin metal railroad car pallet used during the 1920s& 1930s. These exact pallets were used for decades hauling& transporting gunny sacks full of onions. Potatoes& fresh produce all through out the country. These metal pallets were used to keep the produce dry inside the old railroad cars by allowing fresh air to move underneath the produce. The metal top is made of heavy-duty, nearly unbendable, strong rustic tin segments. Each segment is about 4" wide, carries rustic edges, and is bolted one to another. This particular table also has an open handle and old stamped numbers on some of the metal segments. See Photos) The legs& sides are made from barn wood materials also reclaimed from an old Idaho ... morebarn built in the 1930s. The wood caries old circle saw marks& years of character. The four legs are made from the exact same 4x6" barn wood beam. The barn wood has been lightly sanded by hand to expose characteristics& distinguished markings throughout the wood.
