Dating to around 1910. This lovely quite petite table is constructed of solid oak and has a beautiful tiger grain pattern. It has a warm. Mellow patina to its honey brown colouring. The table features fantastic grain patterns to the top surface. Achieved through the use of oak planks, rather than one piece of timber. It also gives it a more rustic, casual dining feel. It stands on lovely turned and fluted legs and has a substantial shaped stretcher base. The table will comfortably seat 4, or 6 people if smallish chairs are used. The table measures 120cm long. 89cm wide and the table surface is 77cm high. The table is in very good antique condition. Structurally strong and robust. It does have some scratching and bumps to the table surface, but these only add to the charm and character of the piece, and provide that more rustic feel- very chic! As with all quality antique and vintage furniture, age-appropriate wear and character marks should be expected. Antique 8' Harvest PLANK BOARD Wood Farm Table RARE PRIMITIVE DOVETAILED CORNERS
Offered for sale is what is most likely a ONE OF A KIND 8' harvest table. The table was purchased at an estate auction so unfortunately there is no provenance as to the date but one can assume it is most likely from the early 1900s or even the late 1800s. It features 3 knotty pine planks on top that have lots of character. They all have maintained their form very well. It is most likely because one point someone either sealed it or refinished it and it looks great! The table has a bright golden oak with a red shade to it. Depending on the screen you are using the color could drastically change. Our PC shows the buffet lighter and duller than it is but on the mobile app they appear accurate. There are a couple small cracks at the end but nothing is affect. That and other condition issues have been described in the item condition section ... moreso please look through that if you haven't already. It is a surprisingly light but sturdy table and is assumed that with the planks being pine that the base is too. This is great because if you need to move it around you don't have to assemble a team of people to move the table like you would with a solid oak table this size! The main thing that makes this table unique and most likely one of a kind is the corners of the table. Every antique farm table or reproduced table with reclaimed wood has your turned legs showing on the corners and the side fascia board butts into the corner. There are a couple we have seen that wrap the post and just have one board nailed into the edge of another. Whoever made this table took a very creative approach and HAND CUT DOVETAIL JOINTS to cover the posts. Which were notched in to accommodate the boards. You can look at every corner and see they are all different and some with the cut marks going past where they should. WHAT A FIND! Not only is this extremely unique to find in this(or any antique) table but the dovetail design and the nails into the post almost assures you that the corners will not move around or come apart! Antique Farm Harvest Dining Table Wide Two Board Top
For your consideration is this great looking farmhouse harvest table made from reclaimed lumber. I built the table about 15 years ago and now that we are in a different home I need a different sized table. Thus this beauty is for sale. I turned the legs out of a vintage gymnast balance beam I salvaged some years ago from a school building being razed. The skirt and top is antique barn wood acquired from a barn loft circa 1880's. The two 15" plus wide boards have bread board ends with hand wrought square nails. The table base is mortise and tenoned and pegged with hand cut square pegs. As you can see from the photos I picked out lumber with beautiful character, like the raised grain on the skirt boards and the heavy wear on the top edges. One of a kind table I am going to hate to see go! Overall the piece measures 30" tall x ... more31 1/4" wide x 87 1/2" long. The legs are 4 1/2" at the widest point. There are 3 boards out of 16 boards that make the table top that are another type of wood. I'm thinking maybe it's cherry but I am not a wood expert. The table has Queen Ann style legs. Legs and skirt are painted a barn red color with the top being stained. This table is very solid and sturdy. You can stand on it and walk on it. It is solid as a rock. I have used this table in my store for years. Looking for something smaller, so sadly giving up this piece. I bought it in New BEDFORD. MA. and was told it was a butchers table. Not sure if that is true or not. But this was most certainly used as some sort of work table. It is rustic. Gorgeous Antique wormy wood top FARM - style dining table with carved base.
Wow! HEAVY. Solid, with some carvings and the top is burly and fabulous. This table has been in the family for decades. Sadly, as the house it lived in got sold so must the table and other items. It was originally purchased from an antique dealer in Mexico. Came from a wealthy family home there. Begging for benches around it! Seats 12 or more easily. In having someone look at the wood I could not get a definite answer of the type. We are nearly certain it is not mesquite and it could be mahogany but birch is what the grain looks like a bit. Difficult to say. The table was purchased for much more than the asking price here and then had to be shipped. The table is in good condition. Cloudy spots in the images are from the flash of the camera. The table color is the darker pictures. I've included the lighter ones in order to see the table ... moredetails better. Measuring at a height of 29.5 inches tall, 41.5 inches deep, and 41 inches unexpanded, it has a potential width of 58 inches with the addition of another leaf. Unfortunately. The metal hardware used to keep one of the drop leaves up is missing. However, since the hardware is present on the other dropleaf, it should not be too difficult to replace the missing hardware. Each of the legs or spindles have wheels for more convenient movement. However. The wheels are also rather delicate and old so if the table is going to be moved frequently, it may be of consideration to replace these. The bottom of the table has countless stains from years of use. Including some paint splatters. There are dents. Scuffs, and dings to the top but the top is free of stains. Beautiful old table made years ago here in NC. It's handmade with one working drawer in the side. With pencil style shaped legs. The drawer has a thin bottom and has an open slit at the front and a small hole near the front slit. Please see the picture on this. I've included many pictures so the table can be seen from every angle. The top is beautiful, made from only a few boards. I bought this at a NC auction earlier this year. It measures 28 1/2" from the floor to the table top, and 23" from the floor to the apron bottom. It's 48" long and 38 1/8" wide.
