Antique Pine Pedestal Round Dining Kitchen Parlor Table
Table was just brought into our store from the mill where it was custom. Hand made. Beautiful warm"maple color" but 100% antique pine. Heavy. Much hand work went into carving. Base is solid and not hollow! Top is a full 2" thick, single layer wood. 44" wide x 31" high with runners that are 6 1/2" wide x 4 1/2" thick. 9 1/2" wide pedestal at widest part. Top is made of 3" to 7" random widths. One of a kind, unique table that was not mass produced. Faces and letters carved into the wood. Looks like it was done by children. I don't know exactly how old the table is. It is missing one of the pegs that holds the trestle together. The boards for this top are 1 inch thick and top is finished with classic breadboard ends. The boards are glued and biscuited. The breadboard ends are pinned in the center and free on the ends to allow for expansion and contraction due to moisture. The grain and colors are incredible.
