This table is a rarely seen design, with pull-out trays at each corner, although one of these pull-outs ... moreis missing the screw that holds it in place, but it is included with the table. The two of the three that are still attached are missing their little pull knobs. The table is made of solid wood, although I would guess it is mahogany, I am not completely sure. It has slight cabriole curved legs and pad feet. There are a lot of scuffs nd light surface scratches to the finish from general use. I am unsure of the age or manufacture of the table. It has a leather top, with a stamped design around the outer perimeter, and some of this design has gold leaf as well. The table has one drawer, with dove tail joints. The table looks like it was repaired at a couple of the corners underneath.

Up for auction is a rare antique Haskell Bros. Chicago true steamer Cabin trunk approximately 40"x14"x20" It shows it's age but still very beautiful. This true low-profile steamer is harder to come by then the taller flat lids. Materials include leather. Oak, canvas and hand pounded metals. Haskell Bros are among one of the top names in American trunks. This trunk is very solid and latches still work. I do not have the key. Please see Photos for condition. Trunk does have a musty smell from being close for so long I will be airing it out till it is sold. There are no signs of water damage or mold. It shows normal signs of use and has scuffs. Scratches, stains, nicks and chips. The canvas is torn and missing in some places. The wood is cracked, chipped and worn in places. The key is missing. The upper part of one latch is missing the original rivets and is held on with modern screws. Two of the leather strap loops on the top are torn and don't hold the strap in place. The leather handles are in shape. The buckles, latches and hinges all work good. Antique Camel Back Trunk, Wood Metal Leather, Late 1800s? Patent Mar 16
Let me begin by saying I do not know a lot about this trunk and I am no expert. I cannot find another one exactly like it online. From information I have gathered I believe it is a camel back trunk from the 1870s or 1880s. Several pieces of the hardware on the trunk have"Patent mar 16" on them. Dimensions: Length 32" 18" wide, 21" tall, 14" deep The trunk is made of metal and wood. The leather handle/strap on the left side of the trunk has been broken off and is MIA. The latch on the front is intact. But it won't latch and the key is also MIA, presumably with the leather handle. Maybe they are lying on a beach somewhere together. Up for auction is a well-traveled and purpose-built antique leather trunk. This trunk chest features real brass hardware with working latch closure. Reinforced leather corners, interesting nail head detail and real flat copper rivets. It is a very sturdy, well-constructed trunk which also has four inner metal braces to make it more crush-resistant, along with a green twill cotton liner throughout. Please look at all the photos to get a sense for the used condition of this antique trunk chest. The trunk has two clasps at its front where a leather handle was likely affixed at one time. In addition. One of the leather seams across the back side has pulled away slightly as shown, but does not detract from the piece as it is on the backside. Purchased at an estate sale. The origin and age of this unique antique trunk is unknown. Completely covered in leather, it's a fascinating piece with a heavily embossed design on all five of the outer surfaces. The bottom and insides are leather too, but not embossed. This trunk also has a leather latch, but the hasp appears to have been removed from the trunk. On each end, there are leather handles that are quite sturdy and would be able to lift this trunk with a good deal of weight in it. The top/lid is curved like a treasure chest. Not sure why. Most of what you see in the photos is dust, cob webs& dirt I feel could be cleaned off. Antique Old Vintage Wooden Steamer Trunk Traveling Storage Chest Leather Rivets!
Hi. Thanks for visiting. I'm selling my antique steamer trunk because of the fact that we're downsizing our living situation. Otherwise, I would certainly hang on to it- it is really a nice piece. I acquired this at a local antique store about ten years ago and have kept it on display ever since. It is made mostly of wood. With some metal rivets and leather straps. I'm not sure when it was constructed, but it is definitely of significant age. It measures approximately 34" long by 21" wide by 24" tall. The trunk is obviously old. So it isn't in perfect condition. One of the metal buckles has come loose from one of the leather straps, for instance. Antique Vintage Chest Steamer Trunk Leather *Local Pick-up ONLY!
I am not sure how old this trunk is. It is in very rough condition. Please see pics for your own judgment on condition. Some rails inside are missing and or broken off that I believe was for an inside tray. The two side leather handles are worn off. There are still leather loops around the trunk that I think the straps would have gone through to secure but the actual straps are gone as well. There is no key. There are 3 shipping stickers from address destinations still intact for the most part but are very difficult to read. 2 of them are from"American Railway Express" and the other says"Dominion Express. The outside of the trunk has a canvas like texture to it and may have been partially painted brown at some point. The trunk itself is real wood construction. From the inside the top of the lid has a paper type covering but ... moreis peeling and you can see the wood planks through it. The trunk has the traditional metal corners and trim work. I will say that the latches and center lock are pretty cool looking. The top is a little different than most of the trunks I have researched. I usually see a flat top or dramatic dome/curved top. This trunk has a slight curve to it that you can view from the side pics. Lastly. The pictures make the trunk look lighter because of the camera's flash than in person. It is a bit darker live. Antique Trunk Wood Covered In Leather 1800's Metal Bands Beautiful Piece
Beautiful antique trunk. I had someone online look at pictures and he estimated it was from about 1890. The research I have done myself leads me to believe it was made between 1870-1890. It is made of wood and covered in leather. I believe that it's pine but I could be wrong. There are metal bands across the top and around the edges. Please see pictures this truck is old and has plenty of bumps and bruises. The leather handle straps are missing and there are several patches of leather missing on the top and front. There is also a crack in the lid. It definitely needs some TLC but is still beautiful and has tons of rustic charm. There is paper lining the inside that is torn and has some spots. This would be a great trunk to restore exactly how you want or to leave as is and embrace its natural charm! It measures 28" long 17" ... moretall and 16" wide. Feel free to ask any questions. Excellent condition 1910-20's era steamer/wardrobe trunk. 23"x30.5x40.5" The brown"gibralterized" leather patina and wear is exquisite- like one of those sought after antique club chairs. It would make a beautiful side table closed and just as nice useable wardrobe for a tight space. These are rarely in such pristine condition. Interior is clean and practically unused. 5 drawers with leather pulls. 12 wooden hangers- 2 types- several different sizes. The lock was popped but the engaging mechanism works perfectly. All the pieces for the original lock are included. Burgundy velour fabric on the top cushion and hanging clothes holdback are is perfect shape.
